I was so hoping for Aspinal vs Pereira, Pereira vs Izzy or Strickland vs DDP.
Pereira hasn't proved himself at heavyweight and pretty much said he's fighting Hill then Akaleav to have the fastest consecutive title defenses at lhw so that takes izzy off the table unless he wants to move up.
I think Strickland and DDP will run again in the summer, or DDP vs Izzy

This is the current light heavyweight champ who people love to watch, vs a former champ that never actually lost, a guy who has an actual shot at taking Alex.
Jamahal could be p4p we just don't know because of his ill timed injury.

This was supposed to blow my mind? Not even close. What a letdown. Should've just move up Gaethje v Holloway to the main even if they couldn't think of anything better. Here I was hoping for McGregor v Chandler or Izzy v DuPlessis. Very anti-climactic. The main event for 299 is better.

WHAT THE 300 MAIN EVENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN:
Push McGregor's comeback up to 300, like he wanted. Hes put on a ton of weight and wants to fight at 170 or 185 now.
GSP is about to return to active competition, but only in grappling. Throw a BAG at him to get him to make his return in MMA instead. A blown up McGregor would be a dream opponent for him and the 300 main event is a mouthwatering opportunity.

Dana literally said a week ago that he was announcing the main event at UFC 298 which was before they even contacted Jamahal Hill. What an absolute joke UFC 300 is they just threw together whatever they could get after Khamzat said no because Ramadan, Jones said no because he's still injured, DDP hasn't recovered, O'Malley and Volk were already booked and Islam is out for Ramadan too. This was literally their last option over Leon V Belal

I mean it’s not Jon vs Stipe or Jon vs Aspinall but Jon is injured.

This is an excellent fight and one of the few “big” fights that’s available for 300
If it was headlining any other card no one would be moaning, this is UFC 300, Compared to 200 the cards look weak. Plus Dana hyping up the main event to be insane then we get a standard announcement for the main event for the biggest card of the year, after a lacklustre co main was announced. Not a good look.
Jamahal Hill is not a big name at all and Alex is just 9-2. Gaethje and Holloway is a bigger fight, but it would've looked weak to move them up to the main, so they're trying to act as if Hill v Pereira is what we've all been waiting for.

Dont get me wrong it was fun but Jon popped hot and was pulled so DC fought an old anderson silva, Brock fought mark hunt and couldnt finish him even with the roids, and the main event was amanda and misha tate which wasnt competitive at all. The best fight on there was Aldo and frankie edgar.

That card was full of some of the best match ups at the time and Silva coming in to replace Jones is better than Hill coming in to replace whoever they wanted periera to fight. They have messed up UFC 300 for sure. For sure it's stacked but they really should of got a better main event than this. No hype behind that main event at all, the speculation has gone from Connor vs Chandler, Connor vs Nate, Aspinal vs Jones, Aspinal vs Pereira, Edwards vs Belal, Edwards vs Islam, then we end up with Pereira vs Hill. Wasn't even hyped for the Co with zhang tbh that should,d of been the 3rd fight from the main event, we Pereira vs Hill as Co. And the main event to still be announced. Seems like they couldn't get who they wanted for main event and just went with Hill vs Pereira. I won't be booking it off work like originally planned, il wait to stream it next day
