This movie is really rewatchable. Just a well-crafted film...with enough interpersonal humor with Downey, Gyllenhaal, Ruffalo and the bit parts to bring some levity. Also love that time lapse construction scene of the pyramid that acts as an intermission.

This movie is the very best telling of this true crime story. That said, I have a hard time with anything that is anti-climatic. Not knowing who the killer was makes it difficult to want to rewatch it. I’m sure for some that makes it scarier in a way because it lets your imagination run wild. But for me it feels like it’s missing something, that reveal. Obviously it’s not the creators fault, he did the absolute best with what he had to work with.

I definitely outgrew Fincher, honestly speaking. But I do appreciate this film. Might be a hot take but I believe it to be his best film.
He's obsessed with Killers. It's true. But he always remembers to tell the story of the detectives too, the people who have to resolve the killing. His stories about other things always seem to be missing something essential. Can't put my finger on it.
