    Lift install is at 2:10 mark
    Tire road test is at 7:30 mark
    tire off-road test at 13:56 mark
    Against everything I read on the internet, I decided to TRY and install a 3” lift. Although I COULD have gotten it in there, if the strut extended all the way while offroading it would ABSOLUTELY break an axle. DO NOT DO 3” LIFT. So I took that off and just put the 23” aggressive mud tires, no lift needed YET and I ordered another lift that is 2”. hoping to get this up to a side by side SXS UTV status!
    I do a test of the new tires, offroad, rock climb articulation, hill climb, mountain and mud. Does really good!
    I ordered a CV boot too, mine was ripped so I showed my way of making it hold dirt out a little longer...
    Dihatzu Hijet (translates to midget in Japanese) Climber Mini-truck, this one is a 1992, 7th Gen, S83P, 660cc Minitruck. The “climber” means it has rear axle lock. Amir has about 60 units in stock, he was very helpful.
    Researching online I did find l lot of information, but Amir explains a LOT more than I knew, he has been in the business for 15 years. Plus if Bubbles in Trailer Park Boys has one, it HAS to be cool!
    Don't forget you're buying a used vehicle, check it all out, they're over 25 years old! Some are in much better shape than others. Check for leaks, CV boots ripped, Loose suspension, Clutch slippage, clunks etc. Just like any used vehicle
    S839 specs:
    660cc 4 vavle 3 cyl engine 48-53hp carburated
    weight: 1500 lbs
    length 10'8" (128"). width 4'6" (54") w/o mirrors. Height 5'10" (70")
    Load capacity 800 lbs
    Max Speed 55-60mph
    I purchased mine at Boeki USA, www.boekiusa.com has their updated inventory. Ask for Amir and tell them MOTOCHEEZ sent you!
    I know there may be other videos of this.. but this is my Cheezy style!
    More info (Wikipedia):
    The Daihatsu Hijet (Japanese: ダイハツハイゼット) is a cabover microvan and pickup truck produced and sold by the Japanese automaker Daihatsu since 1960. Despite the similarities between the Hijet name and Toyota's naming scheme for its trucks and vans (Hiace and Hilux), the name "Hijet" has been in use for Daihatsu's Kei trucks and Microvans since 1960, over two decades before Toyota took control. "Hijet", when transliterated into Japanese, is very similar to "Midget", one of Daihatsu's other mini-trucks. The Hijet competes in Japan with the Honda Acty, Subaru Sambar, Mitsubishi Minicab, Suzuki Carry and the Nissan Clipper.

    I drive a 2002 Daihatsu Hiijet boxtruck as a daily driver to haul tools. I drive only on public roads. Man, its a dependable machine. Its has electronic fuel injection. I save a lot of gas and it never broke down. I only added a class 3 towing hitch, because my tool trailer needs a class 3 towing hitch.
    You will enjoy your mini truck, good choice. thanks for the video.

    We have a 2" lift on a Sambar TT2 and fit 14" super lightweight alloys with 75 series Hancook IPike directional mud and snows. We run the IPikes all year round. They are fairly quiet and haven't let us down on wet grass or slippery dry grass on steep pitches in the back 40. They are especially good on ice and snow. The alloy wheels look pretty cool. The in-house tire guy (me) really appreciates how easy it is to sling around a rim with mounted tire using only one hand. Note to all: a 2" lift over-articulates the CV boots. As a result, boot life is very short for both inners and outers, front and rear.

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  5 лет назад

      Good info. Do you know the rim spacing? Like 4x2" I have 4x4" and they're way too wide. (next video) without cutting and then mud flares.

      @@MotoCheez I went out and checked in a 50 mph wind and freeze-ass NH temps to make sure. The tires are Hancook IPike W409's, 175-70 R14's (23.6" dia) mounted on 14 x 5.54-100/11435S DRG DR31 S rims. The rims are gorgeous on this truck. I never put the steel 13" summer set back on. They rot in the barn. I got the alloy set with rubber from Discount Tire Direct in 2011. Shim rings were required to fit the hubs. Just now thinking I get new rubber for winter 2019, but the vehicle is still moving around in deep snow and black ice without any problems. We'll hit the wear bars this summer. The summers are hard on the winter rubber compound. I obviously don't drive a lot of miles in this vehicle, usually about 1500 miles a year. Really enjoyed your video(s). Always good to glean as much as possible info on these trucks. Hard to get anyone familiar with them to work on them and hard to get the odd part. I made a speedometer cheat sheet, 5 mph increments up to 100 mph, and put it on the driver's A-pillar. The -11.4% retardation has to be addressed. The speedo reads 72 kph at 50 mph.

    The oil what changes in December 4th year 29 (Heisei) which is December 4th 2017, so that is not long ago the truck was serviced cool!
    I think the miles on the truck are original, these trucks in smaller rural communities don't get driven long distances. Your truck was from Mie Prefecture, (from what I can see of what's left of the license plate), google it. West of Osaka, it is a fairly rural area of Japan, lots of farmers and lots of coastal communities with fishing villages.

      Yeah, seems the ones for sale private are 6k here, the place I bought it from in NJ has 60 at a time, the bring in containers full. It was nice to choose from a bunch. Their prices are decent, I thought about importing one direct but it's a crapshoot and by the time you get it through customs etc your price is up near what I paid. Might be worth a trip with a trailer to someone who gets them in bulk. Thanks!😄 Info about dealer in description. If you go, tell Amir MOTOCHEEZ sent you!

    My ex-rental little Hyundai made that noise when you cranked the steering lock for a while. Someone had tried to sort it because the shock tower nut had been severely mauled by what I assume is an intern tech with a steroid abuse problem.
    I liked seeing the insane other drivers. I don't get much of this on the bike, but whenever I'm in the car (and can't get away...) the drivers just seem so much worse. I tell my wife that riding is way less stressful than driving.

    I live here in West Virginia and the guys who sells them here have them with up to a 5 inch lift on them. They said when you go over 2 inch lift you have to replace the struts and add some other suspension adjustment parts. I haven't seen the full kits for sale and they made most of the adjustment brackets/fittings parts.

    Mine, 1994 Carry 51D can carry 1500 pounds with it being the same weight.

    Totally stock. 13inch wheels. Street tires. Front and rear steel bumpers with 5000pd winch in front. Otherwise no rear upgrades done.... YET
    My area is absolute opposite of your beautiful surroundings being in the South East corner of Arizona, Cochise county and at the foothills of the local mountains but we're still in the desert!
    (5000ft level)
    I've got the truck for my 40 acres lot here but spend more time chasing the monsoons and photo-ing the storms, "storm chasing" one might say.
    I've got some great mountainous areas here with the mining back in the day with the "roads" that were used a century ago and my little beast of a stock height and suspension with the diff and axle lockers have not let me down yet. One of the trickiest ones was a very loose rocky hill with 6 inch and up rocks. Had to get out once in a while to move some bigger ones but had her on 2 wheels at times. (ex. front right, left rear sort of thing). At your 17 minute mark is about how it was for a good 500 yards and just as steep! Was a BLAST! These little things surprise me but, like you said about the articulation and the clearance is what it's missing. I joke saying "IT'LL CLIMB A CLIFF!" I'll have to post some video on my channel soon as I'll be starting a channel specifically for it.
    One of the most narcissistic vehicles I've owned, not including a Dick Dean Shala kit I had years ago. The conversations started when ever I reach a destination is always a fun time!

      I bought that as my primary car 10years ago, then I leave it to my parents and I moved 300km away, but recently they decided they didn't need it anymore and they want to scrap it since it has some issues to be fixed, so I put it on my employer truck and carried here.

      Yeah, first I bought a 3-inch lift, against everything that people said online, I bought one anyway to try to install and it is way too much!. I measured how much flex I can get out of the axles which was a little bit over 2" with the shorter axle so that's what I went with. 2" is the absolute Max, so hopefully I won't pop an axle. hey cheese on the video about trouble shooting the lights at the end you said if you rnning lights are on and the head light aint coming on then you may have problems with your light plug so i replaced that and the buld and still no go. how would i fix the ground wire?

    • @MotoCheez

      Check to see with a light probe. If the high and low are hot, and the ground is hit, then your ground is bad. Ground shouldn't light the bulb.

    Before you added the supercharger, was there that much difference in torque between the 23” tires and the 25” tires? I bought mine with 25” tires and almost can’t drive up mild inclines without being in 4 low. I was considering dropping down to 23” tires.

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  11 месяцев назад

      There was a slight noticeable difference, you can also do the larger carburetor like I did before I installed the supercharger that actually made quite a bit of difference in power

      @MotoCheez  11 месяцев назад

      @cmadd21 putting 23s on will definitely make it better! If it has a distributor try advancing the timing a few degrees you'll get some more horsepower out of it Just listen for detonation keep advancing it until you hear detonation while you're lugging it up a hill and then back off a few degrees
