In this video I pop in to see Peter Millard's Workshop. Peter is a full-time content creator for 10 Minute Workshop on RUclips, Instagram and Patreon following many years as a professional carpenter and cabinetmaker. More recently, his entrepreneurial ways have lead him to establish his own range of workshop jigs and accessories like the Square Enough squares and Loose Tenon Jig. 10 Minute Workshop: ruclips.net/user/PeterMillard Peter's Loose Tenon Jig Plus Video: ruclips.net/video/s79rc8yzbLQ/видео.html Peter's Original Loose Tenon Jig Video: ruclips.net/video/1dcI7amQisA/видео.html Peter's Spray Booth Video: ruclips.net/video/x7JQT7kffNg/видео.html Peter's Graco Sprayer Video: ruclips.net/video/cRijz8BdEfk/видео.html Peter's Lamello Zeta P2 Video: ruclips.net/video/0AnErNRpA18/видео.html Karl Pope Woodcraft: ruclips.net/user/karlpopewoodcraft Proper DIY: ruclips.net/user/ProperDIY 🔨 MY TOOLS 🔨 For links to the tools I use, plus some of my favourite consumables, finishes and more see links below. Different perspective on Peter’s shop, literally. Not seen the shots looking towards the roller door. Always nice to have a poke around someone else’s space 😉 Good stuff chaps
Nice one chaps. I mean, for all I know, it took 2 hours of footage to get this nicely paced little meet up and convo together. You both seemed pretty natural. I only say this as I'm incredibly awkward meeting people I don't know well. God forbid it was ever on camera😱 Good little behind the scenes though.👍
That was very interesting seeing an off the cuff random insight into Peters workshop and tools. Listening to Peter how he doesn't spray anymore, too old or make fitted furniture and how his workshop has transformed into a RUclips studio. We have followed the same path exactly apart from the gap difference as a RUclips Creator. Enjoyed the video Keith. Tony
A great video as always. It is really interesting seeing a studio workshop, set up with good lighting and displays. Mine is just a woodwork shop with a camera tripod 😂😂. I only discovered Peter Millard a couple of months ago when I was at the Benchdogs workshop picking up my rail square. Ralph the owner mentioned him and so far I have been glued to Peter's videos, very much like yours.
Nice. Two of my favorite creators. I'm interested in seeing what you do with the jig. I'd like to have one, but I can't bring myself to fork out for shipping to the US. Thanks for having us in as "flies on the wall".
Wow. I very much enjoyed this video. I love Peter. He is so down to earth and easy to understand. Truth be told, you both have become my favorite content creators. Only difference is, Peter is more your typical, home carpentry, sheet goods guy, and you do an array of DIY home Improvement, Furniture Builds, Restoration/Repair, (Tool and Task comparisons), and small biography stuff. You may have more variety on your channel then can be found on most woodworking channels.
Awesome video, Keith! Thanks! 😃 Peter's shop looks great! Really well organized! I've watched some of his videos before, but I wasn't subscribed. Just corrected that now. 😊 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I've seen a trick elsewhere for superglue which is to use bicarbonate as an activator. Normal baking powder works. I dab my finger in the bicarb then rub it on one surface and blow or rub off any visible powder then a few drops of glue on the second surface and just hold them together for ten seconds. Instant bond and no weird aerosols in a small space
What a great vid, thanks dude, have subscribed, I have a set of long (600mm) F clamps that kept slipping so I drilled a series of holes along the bar, effectively turning them into sash clamps, they work great, and can be bolted together, !! Great channel, thanks for posting
Very interesting. I saw a tip on fixing f clamps that start to slip. It involved hitting the bar with the claw of a claw hammer to add in some teeth to them. Worked surprisingly well!
A bit late to this video but I thought I would add my thoughts. The really useful thing in Peter's workshop that never gets a mention is the Ikea step stool. I used a customers one once and thought I must get one. Then I saw a broken one in a skip, a few screws and it has been a trusty companion ever since. The footprint is so small you can have them in the smallest of bathrooms as a saw bench, a step or somewhere to sit during lunch. Honestly, treat yourself, they are a wonderful addition. Ratchet clamps, the Festool ones are probable the best on the market, Festool buy them from Bessey, so just buy the Bessey unless you really need green handles. You can hear it in Peter's voice that he doesn't miss doing the client work. Some of them can be so fussy and the richer they are the worse they are, so central London must be a nightmare.
Can't beat a good nosey round someone else's workshop or knicker drawer 🤣 Looking forward to Maker's Central gutted your not coming mate but will catch up later in the year I'm sure.
mafell track saw is truly amazing but even after a year or so having it I struggle to get used to the way it tilts down - it goes forward (as its hinged at the back) and I find it hard to keep it all the way down while pushing it along consistently. but it's great piece of kit and maybe one day my muscle memory from my previously owned hilti will finally adjust to the new way.
Is this the beginning of "Woodworkers Assemble", like the Marvel series?.. Really sorry to hear about Dylan mate. My cats are my bezzies, though they're not enjoying my new interest in power tools. Looking forward to your tablesaw fence (me, not them). Cheers.
I have some of the bessey ratcheting clamps....I wouldn't recommend them over normal f-clamps to be honest. Can be a real pain to get the clamping pressure on and overall disappointing (considering how expensive they are!)
@@RagnBoneBrown I don't imagine there's many options, looked like you were on the central line - east or west is £££'s. I just remember him having that shop for as long as I can remember.
Couple of nice blokes in a shed, excellent.

Absolute pleasure to have you visit Keith, and great to catch up! We must do it again! 🙌 P
Woodworking mashup! Yes. Gosh, I'm a nerd. The kids want a DC/Marvel mash up, and I want this.
Best two British woodworkers.
Good to see you guys enjoyed your play-date talking tools. Keep up the good work!

Nice little visit. I love watching his channel and yours
It's a small world, good to see two of my favourite you tubers in one video.
Thank you
Great video thanks for sharing 👍👍🍺🍺
I am soooo invested in this bromance. More please
Good stuff - thanks!
I was recently in London. I would have loved to drop in on Peter’s shop. Enjoyed the video.
Great candid video ! Now you have to get Peter over to your shop for a tour as well
nice chatting to other joiners always:)
My favourite RUclipsrs 😁👍
Cheers mate!
I love watching your and Peters videos, because they both are metric which I use everyday.

Thank you! Yeah he's a top man
You camera makes peters shop look surprisingly bigger than looks on peters camera...great video guys of 2 RUclips legends
Wide angle lens tends to make things look bigger. It was a great size for a London work space though!
So true! Peter's camera makes his workshop look like a shoebox, but this video makes it seem quite spacious.
Really nice video, thank you both.

I do like too see other peoples workshops and too talk to other joiners too Exchange ideas thank you great video 👍

I do enjoy a good cross over 👍 Matt needs to appear out of a badger set in your garden now for the next one.
Great video Keith, a chance to see different views of Peters workshop 👍.

I love the format of some bloke nosing around someone else’s shed, far better than the shop tours
Two opinions from the woodworking trade I trust because they adjust to what works.
Really enjoyed this one Keith.
Thank you
Very interesting. I saw a tip on fixing f clamps that start to slip. It involved hitting the bar with the claw of a claw hammer to add in some teeth to them. Worked surprisingly well!
Interesting..I had thought of taking a triangular file to the back
I'm thinking a vertical garden on the fence to add green to your space. It's easy to grow herbs and greens and edible flowers in vertical gardens
A bit late to this video but I thought I would add my thoughts.

Yes, next time I'm up north I'll be coming for you
Ha ha, I hoped you guys wood hook up. You look good together 😃
Highly recommend the eclipse ratchet clamps really heavy duty.
And you were on my line! It would have been cool if you'd been riding my train on your travels! I trust you minded the gap 😉
5:55 haha. I say that every time I show people my one 😂 But it is!
My designasaw sticker made the wall!
Can’t wait for video on loose tenon jig. Thoughts on Bessey parallel clamps? Would appreciate your opinion
I've not had any experience with the Bessey clamps I'm afraid
Nerding out with clamps

Try the Banggood track clamps, excellent value, and easier to use than festoon (yes I have both)
Thanks
I wonder if Matt Estlea can get you a discount on those clamps?

Beam saw good bit of kit them I worked on 1 years ago the bed has small air nipples u can spin a sheet of 3x3 chipboard on it with ur finger
Is the veritas building next to peters shop the same veritas that makes the planes
You gave peters location away!
His address is on his website
@@mgm71 Now you're giving my location away... 😂
I worried about this too.
Next stop, meet Scott Brown
I’ld love to go to Makers Central, but Brum is too far from Kinross-shire, and the M6 sucks through the potteries, enjoy!

Curious, how comes he hasn't moved to a bigger workshop yet?
I think he was looking at options for doing that a few months back but I suspect it's a convenience thing - very close to his house etc!
@@RagnBoneBrown I don't imagine there's many options, looked like you were on the central line - east or west is £££'s. I just remember him having that shop for as long as I can remember.
A man can never have enough clamps.
Your video was over 14 minutes long. I bet Peter was pissed.
🤣👍
I think it's safe to say, Peter does have enough clamps.
It's there such a thing as enough clamps? Like guitars, thought the optimal number is however many you have plus one!
There is always room for a silver coin in my pocket ... 9:55
I mistook Peter for Keith a few times due to their similar height and hair color.
