Here's How Much SILVER $1000 can Buy You Today!
• Here's How Much SILVER...
#silverprice #silverrounds #silvereagles
I want to go back to 1995 and buy gold at $300 and ounce
If I was going back I'd rather buy a fully detached home for $100,000.
yeah I would like to had some stock in Google in 1981 too
I would rather go back to 1995 and buy a index fund
Would like to go back to 1992 when I was a bank teller and silver coins passed through my hands every day..boy that was nice! So hard to find any out in the wild now..
I used to give a silver coin every weekend for church offering
Silver Rounds. The material matters most
I don't know why some on here are so dismissive of that simple logic? 🤷
@@phuckyu3383it should be pretty obvious that people have different opinions.
But how do you know the rounds are really silver? The benefits of minted coins outweigh bullion because of the ease of transactions, the lack of capital gains taxes, and trust we have in the US mint. Liquidity is king.
The eagles can be fake too.
@@davidmcvicker2181 unfortunately true.
Both are great, but it's better to stack as much silver you can for the cheepest price.
Facts!!
Exactly!! Fatten the stack as cheap as possible sir !!
Yes, but I do like to get a silver eagle for each year to hold onto
The Mexican libertads are very pretty, might get ahold of a few
How do I get it as cheap as possible though?
I’m a fan of sovereign silver and would (did) spend my money on Maple Leafs and Brittanias. Gosh that Brittania is a gorgeous coin.
True, but only if you can find them for a fair price. I wont pay huge mark up just for it to sit in my stack.
The Brittania is by far the most beautiful government back silver coin out there. I bought a tube of them a while ago. It is definitely one of my favorite parts of my stack. You get 25 in a tube instead of just 20 that the silver eagles get you, and the premium on the brittania is significantly less than the silver eagle as well.
I don't looking at Charles so l stuck with ASE's 😝
@@ericmcmanus5179did you buy the one with the Queen or the new design with Charles?
Yes it is
I'd take the rounds alllll day long!! The US mint has lost its mind!
They're trying to discourage Americans buying up real money!
@@christophercoleman6596 I think that's 100% correct!
Rather I think they lost their supplier. They stopped selling to most parties.
The market pushed them up. Mint has nothing to do with it.
@@randalllimburg1010 You sure about that? Seems like stunted production from the mint pushed them up to me considering the fact that every other mint in the world kept up with demand and hence those coins had lower premiums.
Eagles all day long, love how so many people would rather have rounds and buffalo's!
I'll trade you one eagle for two of your rounds if you love them so much ;)
Have fun eventually selling them some day!
@amr8457 would only sell to upgrade to gold, that being said, Silver is not to be Sold!
@@estradaaz9258 my exact thoughts. Metal is to be upgraded, not traded for like kind.
@@amr8457Eagles are far easier to sell than standard silver rounds.
Would definitely select the silver eagles. Reason being is not everyone will recognize what a round is and in comparison. The moral of the story is invest in silver while you can.
People would learn fast, though, wouldn't they? I mean, it's not brain surgery or anything.
LOL 😂, it says right on the round .... 1 Troy ounce. Doesn't matter if it's a eagle or a Buffalo.
@@tonyhilder8846 Every day brother
Rounds no doubt, but glad I got tubes of Eagles at $2-3 over spot several months earlier.
So if the government demands their money back The face value of the coin is printed on it. And that's $1 , Do you see the problem ? If you melt them down You've broken the federal law.
@@damnu8089 you don't know in which state he is...
Ditto
37 silver rounds without a second thought. In 86 when I bought my first 100 Silver Eagles from the Federal government, I was pissed off that I had to pay 75 cents mark up on each coin. Forget exactly what I paid, but I think it was close to 600 bucks. I was just a young snot nose kid back then. I traded those 100 1986 Eagles for 200 1993 Eagles a lot later in my life. I thought I was getting a good deal, but in retrospect I should have held on to the 1986 Silver Eagles.
86 SAE'S CROSSOVER TO NUMISMATIC.

@@272global nice Thankyou for advice going to start collecting I appreciate your help ! Have a great one 👍🏽
Considering you’ll be hard pressed to get anything over spot should you ever sell, the best bet is to just buy reputable rounds at a small premium. Silver Eagles are anything but rare. Paying high premiums to who? The coin shops? You’re just supporting your local dealer. It’s a racket
Rounds all day!! and silver is silver!!
What's a good price per round to buy?
I guarantee you that in a situation where people are directly spending PMs again, they’ll care about the metal content more than what’s on it.
Best of both worlds, I got a Black Friday sale deal on 1 oz Canadian Maple Leafs for a cheaper price than generic buffalos normally go for!

There's just something wonderful and spiritual about the Eagle!!!
Definitely rounds.
Buy low unless you're collecting
back when I bought all of my silver eagles, they were only 1$ above spot from my local coin shop. that same coin shop is now selling eagles for 16$ over spot. everything has gone to hell in a hand basket
How does the same shop go from having below market premiums to a ridiculous premium no one charges.
My bullion dealer used to charge $3 over spot and now charges $6 over. Your guy was obviously a reasonable bullion dealer but now decided to lose his mind and charge a premium no one else does? Something doesn't add up here.
Let's put it this way. He's now going out of business at he end of the month.

Silver eagle. In a shift they would be more likely useable
Any government minted silver rounds kangaroos or maple leaves kangaroos are the better buy and there Australian silver dollars in an ounce of silver
LOL 😂, why because they have a eagle on them ?
In the end when the sovereign value no longer has effect. I’d want 37 over the opposing option
Rounds no question. 👍
When the greenback becomes as valuable as the Zimbabwen dollar, people won't care what the design is, they'll look at the silver content.
I'll take door No 3....Maple Leaf pls
ASE is worth the price!!
Stack them alongside USA junk silver.
The combination is an unbeatable sledgehammer of solid value and recognition!
Yeah, sure, but not sure... But for sure not in Europe! Here ASE's are not only hard to find (thus relatively quite expensive), but they also sell for nearly as much as any other 1 oz. coin... Here I'd much rather buy the (normally) affordable Britannias, Philharmonics, Maple Leaves and so on. All three even looking better imo, with the added feature of maple leaves for fighting with milk spots.
All of your words still do not take away the fact that the American silver eagle is the most sought after coin on the planet. Factor that in to your equation.
@@C-130-Hercules Sorry if I sound harsh, but subjectively speaking about pure aesthetics, security features and as an European, yeah in my book it's Britannias, Philharmonics and Maple leaves (well last one is not quite European, but milk-spot-free and four nines fine, instead of three- super unique features)... Supply of ASE's quite too low for comparison and it comes due to "your" political reasons, e.g. your silver digging companies sell their silver in Europe for the better price they get... As in the USA you can only mint silver coins using USA-dug silver AFAIK... Please, correct me if I'm wrong!... But it sounds like very low supply, decent demand... The most sought after? Data? Do you know someone who wanted to own an ASE, with all of their money, an couldn't find any?
I would definitely take the silver eagles, because they will increase in value as the years go by. The silver rounds will be at the mercy of spot silver plus maybe a small premium.
I’m learning this game so please excuse my ignorance. Can you expound on your theory? I could see your point. Poor people won’t care what’s on the coin but if it’s a speciality coin it’d be worth more? More buying power because it’s an eagle? Thanks and God bless.
Silver is silver and when SHTF your eagles aren't going to buy you anymore than my Buffalo Rounds.
@kcconnor I will have to disagree with you. If you are collecting rare or limited mint coins, they will appreciate in value more than rounds, but you'll have more rounds and that will probably offset the price difference. Look at the Morgan's. Yes, they are 90% silver, but they aren't 2x or 3x more valuable than the silver they contain.
I'll stack my rounds and throw in a few sovereign mints for fun.
@musicman7297 Thats not true why dont you ask your LCS. I have ..and do you know what they ALL say? They said they would pay more for the silver American Eagles than they would for a Buffalo round. Even when SHTF. OOPS!
@@bc_usa My local dealer is a friend and he agrees with me. Why would someone barter or trade with you and give you more because the coin has an eagle on it over the Buffalo? The silver is still just silver and nothing magical about it.
Silver is silver. The lowered price the better for me even though I do like looking at silver eagles.
Exactly. So if you can get them for a modest premium like 3or 4 bucks yeah ok buy them if not just get the rounds and move on.
I buy for selling in the future.... not to look at.
I buy culled SE for two bucks more than a buffalo. Best of both worlds. I get silver cheaper than if I was buying new SE. As well as get the most liquid coin possible. Personally a sucker for the unique SE ping I may be a bit biased in my approach.
I've bought my Silver Eagles 3 or more years ago. Who doesn't love them? I also bought Maple Leafs similarly. In the last 3 yrs. I only buy a variety of the least expensive bars and Constutional silver.
My answer is buy the rounds. I will sell my silver when the manipulation fails and we finally will see commodities find their true value, post backed by nothing fiat debt notes.
We all hope to sell... but to who?...
When it finally goes up, it will be too late. There won't be any more buyers left out there...
In a SHTF situation, silver is silver. I'll take the rounds.
So many people don't seem to understand that.
@@musicman7297 oh don't worry, they will when they have to choose between a loaf of bread for an 1oz of silver no matter the "premium". no one will care about that when they need to eat. Silver is silver.
I have maybe one full tube of eagles is all in my entire silver stack. As for bars and rounds, far far more. The choice is clear.
I have a variety of each, but in my honest opinion rounds are the way to go.
I just got 121.4 troy ounces in sterling for $2989
That beats either of these options all to hell.
Every sterling coin I bought was in a capsule and a carrying case with COA.
I'd like them both but the silver rounds do get you more silver so I guess its a no brainer.
Diversify your stack. 90% coins, Sovereign Coins, Generic Rounds, 10 oz and Kilo bars. When selling time comes around off load the generic stuff first. I'm tempted to say keep the 90% for as long as possible because the more wash-rinse-repeat cycles we go through the less 90% will be around as it gets refined.
God those silver eagles are just so good-looking 🔥
L o l They are nice looking. But they have a face value on them And they belong to the country that they are printed. What belongs to Caesar Give back to Caesar
They look beautiful til I check my purchase history and know I've paid waaaayyyyy too much in premiums, then they become almost nauseating

in your opinion when will that be?
I like both, but my all time favorite coin is the 2 oz silver libertad
Oz silver is oz silver regardless the coin. Buy the rounds all day long
Exactly, people think because it comes from the government that it's worth more.
@musicman7297 if ur intrested in coins go into numismatics
Not true some are a lower mintage and to collectors they have more value. They will at minimum be worth their silver content
@improvisedsurvival5967 numismatic is a whole different ball game. If ur a stacker, stick to rounds plane an simple..

37 oz silver coin, if it ever explodes nobody's going to care if it's an eagle or Canadian or whatever. In the end, silver is silver and what it's value is is what we want the most.
Silver Eagles would be my choice.
Yes, Silver Eagles are more expensive, however they are recognizable as money.
Silver IS money, take the rounds.
Do you understand that people buy precious metals, not for the monetary value of it but the actual melt value? I have Morgan dollars, that are worth $1, if you go off of what it says on the coin, but everyone knows they're worth far more, because the value is being calculated in the precious metal
I buy gold for GOLD. As long as it’s 24k, I could care less what’s on the coin.
I refuse to be fleeced out of money in the name of “premiums”.
Diversify your silver!
Im in a good position where I get 350-400 each month plus the money I make from side hustles and I’ve been putting 200$- 270$ on silver I just started but I wanna get a lot starting out and just build it up more casually after that! I got 100 grams of valcambi silver and a couple graded coins and a 1 oz aztec bar coming in the mail, I love this hobby!
I would buy Austrian Philharmonics because they are almost the same price as rounds but when you go to sell them back to the dealer after a massive bull run, you wont be 1099-b taxed.
@@DOO718 Why wouldn't you be taxed?
@keithharrold7262 you are taxed on silver rounds if you sell more than 1000 a day. But that's not so bad. You can just sell 999 a day and be fine!
@DOO718 Oh thank you! I didn't realize that. Does that differ state to state or outside certain countries?
Numbers don’t lie in the game of stacking! Silver is silver .. Sure Eagles are nice and I have a lot of them but as an experienced stacker, I’ve learned that you have to spend your money wisely and as you stack and your number rise (silver) and the value of silver rises the numbers will show the fruit of your labor!!
Hi ok but when sell don’t you make more on eagles. Not arguing just question?
Yes when premium is low or when you buy when it’s low!! I don’t sell my silver, I stack for the long game
@@troyshore3357Seeker did a video on just that subject and showed that you get more money on the selling end with generics, that is assuming there are not crazy buyback premiums on Eagles when you go to sell them.
I made my first ever metals purchase in 2019. I got mostly buffalo rounds at about $0.25 over spot, and about a quarter as many eagles at like $1 over spot. Oh how I wish I could go back in time and absolutely load up on ASE’s. 😭
Dude I am baffled that people will still buy silver eagles at these premiums, I can understand a few but certainly not in bulk
Here in Aus an ounce averages 41-46 dollars . It used to be around 30 bucks for an ounce and a half .
If youre stacking, then get rounds. If you are a coin collector, get eagles.
so I'm sure glad that you are doing this it gives people like myself a perspective keep up the good work it's good information it's an amount of money that most people can work with, to make there portfolio better.
Silver will always be silver so rounds is a better choise.
I have collected literally hundreds of pounds of silver over the years, and I own 4 or 5 silver eagles in slabs.. bullion is bullion, and most silver eagles just don't have the numismatic value that justify the premium.
I buy 10 oz bars and grain/shot and get just a few more oz squeezed out of the $1000
You only get 3 bars with lot pocket change. But bar is what I like
Kilo bar. Rest if the 1000 shot.
tell me exactly what you get for $1000? and where to buy?
tell me exactly what you get for $1000? and where to buy?
I never really understood why is this price difference. I know one is more recognized than the other, but you aren't buying the design, you are buying silver. If I wanted to buy a design I would have bought a copper Eagle bullion. I would always rather buy more silver than buy more design recognition.
The US mint lost about $111 million in derivatives. No wonder silver eagles are so high.
10 oz bars at %1.79 an oz over spot.
you can get 40 oz for $1,000.
Eagles are cool. However, the ratio between those Eagles and generic silver is astounding. Try to get as much as possible. Silver is silver regardless.
Stack silver rounds when economy collapses they all they'll all be worth it by the ounce not when they were minted
From one of my dealers I have started buying Constitutional Silver. They take 5-7 weeks to get either silver or gold eagles. With Constitutional Silver, they ship it it in about a week.
Rounds are definitely a better deal, but Eagles are better for resale down the road as I think they’ll be more desirable and bring you more in return.
up until the last month or so I had 3 pawn shops selling me SE for 30 each. Between them and the coin shops no one is seeing any. Any for sale now are close to 40 each. Generic rounds are close to 30 now. If you find them.
I'm going as cheap as I can get these days.
Buy online if generic is $30 local. You can find generic for $4 over spot online.
Eagles all the way! Made by U.S. Mint is big factor for me.
It's about the ounces Baby!!
IDK dude but I have to think in Canadian dollars these days. This year $1000 could only get like a kg of silver on a good day ,but it would be a lot more than $1000 to get a kg of silver eagles at the prices around here
Silver Eagles. I don’t particularly care for silver rounds. I think I own two silver Buffalo. They were both gifts.
Bullion/ bars no room for negotiating just straight up value in any country.
Can you always count on getting some of that premium back on the eagles? That would influence my choice
Yes always some premium but anything over $4 then it's time to just stack the rounds. Anything over is not worth the risk.
The rounds for sure. Dealers only pay spot regardless if it's a coin or round.
Same principle applies for 90 percent junk sliver premiums
Yes, there is a premium for silver eagles. That having been said when the chips are down an ounce of silver is an ounce of silver. That's why the dolled-up pieces are a waste of money unless you are just buying them for your own pleasure NOT investment.
Eagles, we can leave the country with 10,000 faces dollars. You would need to report silver rounds.
I didn't know that
I'd still rather have eagles.
If it comes down to it, I'm not trading you x number of cans of spam for your Sonic the Hedgehog silver round 🤷
Bruh I would gladly pay a 200% premium on a Sonic round.
@@GurtGobain 😆
When buying silver keep in mind that when you go to sell it you will only get scrap price for it, no matter what it is so just buy it as close to spot price as you can. The fancy things priced above spot never return a good profit.
It depends on the rounds but if it were buffaloes specifically I'd take the eagles just because I like the look.
Rounds,,,PM is about weight and purity first.
If/when you sell, don’t expect a premium unless there’s a rarity.
Historically, coin shops/dealers will only pay an amount, under spot prices.
I prefer coins since they have a face value, that could become useful if we have to use gold and silver for all transactions
I went to my local coin shop and they are asking spot plus $25 for silver eagles while their libertads are spot plus $18 lol ive been getting foreign over silver eagles
Time to go to another place
The only advantage to buying ASEs is that it is legal tender. So it is yours. Rounds are just silver and could be confiscated because they are just a collectible.
Since you can only hold Eagles in an IRA, the price is inflated in the US. Rounds, Libertads and Canadian Maple Leaf coins are better.
In the UK neither because of capital gains tax implications, only Royal mint coins are CGT exempt.
If there is no Tax to consider go for best know type then max ounces.
I got one graded silver eagle to look at and the rest are vintage to modern rounds from $18.50 to $25 each. My husband bought a dumb commemorative coin off ebay that was around 55 bucks and I was gobsmacked...could've bought 2 rounds and acouple hot dogs for that 🤪
I buy SILVER, for the SILVER content ,
If I wanted good looking Silver, I'd buy Britannia's .
37 ounces is the best way to go.
GIVE ME THE SILVER EAGLES!! 👍
Me too 😅
We need this and a current price check to see how much more silver costs
Eagles. Which would you rather take in trade for a slice of bread: a quarter or a subway token?
Not a fair comparison. Subway tokens only have one purpose. Generic rounds can be used for everything eagles can.
@@GurtGobain look in to the psychology of bartering and get back to me.
@@jdbond1990 I don't think your neighbor is going to give you twice as much dried beans for eagles over buffalos in a barter scenario when SHTF. But if you want to take that extra risk, you do you, friend.
@@GurtGobain as always, all opinions are welcomed. Happy stacking 👊
Depends on how often I used the subway.
As a stacker who has sold silver before, government coins are the best. The premium sucks on eagles. But when you go to cash in silver, no one is turning down government silver. Maples, eagles, libertads etc… all sell better than custom pours. I’m sitting on 30 oz of first majestic shot I can’t get rid of.
Obviously they sell better than pours but so much better that it's worth just having less silver? The answer is probably no... as.for shot I wouldn't recommend stacking that at all
Silver Eagles, more value when you have lower mintage.
Stack them 100oz bars baby.
After I got home and owned the silver. I'd rather have the silver eagles. I think they would sell easier and for more in the future.
Junk silver is the best. It is minted by the us and is legal tender. Rounds can have counterfeits. For example, gold and tungsten have almost the same density, and there are several counterfeits. But when it is junk silver, you know it is real deal from the government
well in terms of stacking rounds i think, you get more in ozs. in terms of collectibility eagles you can probably charge higher when you sell because plenty of people are obsessed with collecting entire sets and will pay up for missing yrs they don't have.
I would spend 1000 on rounds as a base then buy eagles etc.
Silver Eagles. They seems crazy I know, but in a bartering /breakdown scenario people are going to trust something that they know is of a certain purity. Not everyone at that time will have the means to test the purity of potentially unknow or unrecognized rounds. For bartering small things, I will personally stick with coins whether Eagles, Maple Leafs or others. For something bigger then some gold is the way to go.
Absolutely 37 rounds
Here’s my 2 cents
Have a variety of generic rounds, bars and eagles pick up eagles when the price dips and buy generic when prices are higher at the end of the day silver is silver personally I like eagles but I’ll take what I can get!
I'm just starting to get into collecting silver bullion. I think the big difference (so far as I can tell in my limited knowledge) is that you purchase the Silver Eagles for their collector (Numismatic) value. They can increase a lot over the course of time to a collector. When buying silver rounds or even "junk silver" for financial protection, you need to purchase as close to the spot price as possible. Please correct me if I don't have it right.
Pioneer kilo bars and rounds have the lowest premium and great for stacking deep.
Rounds,of course!
