I have no context for what this is, but since she was in what almost looked like a hospital gown at the start, the thought occurs to me that in whatever fantasy this is. Her mental self image might be representing that as whatever condition she suffers from slowly taking her eye away. But that all depends on if I’m right about her being in a hospital in the start.
This... Is amazing. It feels like I'm watching something someone made for one person specifically, like being let inside a tight-knit friend group, if only for a moment. It has so many feelings attached to it, the characters, while clearly a fiction of their own kind, have so much life and care put into them, not only by the content creator but by the girl as well. She's just along for the ride, despite, from my judgement, being the creator of the realm. She's surprised often, and is generally being messed with and is having fun. *And everyone cares for her.* She has a friend group, while not quite real, is better than most of us have. She cares for them too, because you don't end up with such distinct and lively imaginary friends without a lot of emotion involved. And yet, it is not enough. She is happy in the moment, but that happiness is fast to flee when the moment's gone. I'm not even going to talk about how fucking grim the real world is, how it is practically grayscale compared to the dreamscape. She has *created* her own life, her own world. It makes her happy, and yet... How long can she keep it up for? (Edit: Another commenter has made me realise the impact this can have on people, so here's a piece of advice to those who envy her. Life is a matter of luck. Every second, millions of coins are flipped. And, if your life is bad enough that you'd rather live in a world like hers than bother with real life, keep in mind that only one of those million coin flips hitting you in your favor can change your life. You can increase your odds by interacting with people more, increase your the size of your plate to collect more coins. I had a friend of mine meet their significant other, who changed their life, on a goddamn youtube comment of all things, do not underestimate the butterfly affect, but also do not lose sight of truth chasing luck. Yes, but Sunny locked himself in wonderworld cuz he have a huge guilty feeling, but according to the video it seems like this girl has some kind of sick or disability, that kept her from society and she just fall in her world, I mean its a very interesting detail that provides us a message, that she might doesnt have a choice or smth that can stop her, particularly Sunny, of course he had a huge trauma, but nobody and nothing made him to do that he done. So, is that really the same thing? IMHO and sorry for bad english
I'd love to see this turn into some sort of Gravity Falls-esque show. Just gotta get some extra animators, some voice talent, some screenwriters, some audio engineers, and get TallyHall to sign off on making turn the lights off being the OP.
This feels like a proof of concept to a series that should exist and I hope it gets one, in an age of indie animation becoming viable I’d say this concept deserves it

Theory: all of the OCs were human beings, then the two evil looking guys in cloaks dragged all of them into this seemingly wonderland reality. The thing is, is that I think the two people in cloaks are forced by someone of higher ranking to capture these people, which is why one of them looks at the world with guilt at the end. Not sure about the card that was left behind though 🤔
I’ve been thinking that maybe the person who appeared might’ve been the exact person from Lonely Religion meme/animation. They might’ve gave the card back so that she doesn’t forget, maybe he tried it with the rest of the people we were introduced, but they all chose to forget. Maybe since we keep seeing her not as cheerful as she is, she chose to NOT forget.
0:15 such a weirdly cool detail is that our main character has her left eye closed when she first arrives, and in the next shot she now has an eyepatch, showing how her eye for some reason got damaged and stopped working when she arrived, and they quickly patch it up for her.

As someone who's listened to this song almost hundreds of times and absolutely loves animation that plays with emotion and feelings, *holy shit.* This is probably everything I've ever wanted in an animation based on Turn The Lights Off. Bravo, instant subbed.
This needs to be made into a 5-20 min pilot for a show, it's so good and isn't enough of this amazing concept! In 94 seconds and no dialogue I need more of this, it has so much potential, and I know people would love it if it were adapted to longer content. 👍

I actually really wanted to use a similar idea for my second setting when I was writing it a few years ago, because I felt like the first one just set too much boundaries for me and I did not feel like I put all of my creative out... But then I just said "Screw it, I don't want to go with a boring realism :D" and then I started adding more colourful characters into my first setting and it became much more cozy and rememberable. I am still thinking about the "dream world", and I basically pulled a reverse and now it is the dull one with a lot of darker colours!
Honestly, that's usually what happens with series considered masterpieces. When you just can't stand the reality's limitations and you just want to throw out all your ideas in, good writing comes from heart.
All their names are on his Artfight character list, it's some website competition thing I'd never heard of before, but it has a picture and name of each character, I want the story and lore behind them released too. This was such a great video.

I really enjoyed this animation! This reminds me of a musical in a tv show. It really motivates me to animate and draw more. Also- I really would hope this is real, because, like, we all have our regretful moments, right? And we all want to forget about it; so this is very inspiring and this actually relates to some of our lives which is cool to me.

...I've had a fantasy like this in the past, and I think that I get the shadowy cloaked figure, watching everyone live their dream/perfect/ideal/I can't find the word life. It pains him to look at this character forget their old life and instead prefer the bliss of this one, especially because... It's almost like looking at someone in heaven, a child released from life into a bliss that, terribly unfortunate, was a bad one. Because life is a gift, and to reject it is sad, to reject life means that yours was torture.
This is the first video of this channel I just discovered that I watched and though I'm not entirely sure what's going on I'm so impressed by the animation style and quality! Had to read the other comments to understand more of the hidden meanings tho...along with allat this video is just so splendid. Ok that was clever at the end. She saw her true face and immediately realised who she really was, causing the dream to abruptly stop. When confronted with reality, *the illusion is shattered, and the imagination is broken.* It could certainly be said that this world is all created by her mind, and getting her true memories forced back in by the card erased the false ones, returning things to normal....
As a massive fan of Tally Hall this is amazing. I’m in love with the art style and the characters already. I’d sit down and watch a whole series of this from this animation alone. I’ll look forward to whatever you’ll make in the future 👍

Theorys going in order of how the video plays 1: she wasn't originally dreaming this much but it quickly became an out of control kind of addiction 2: this world was definetly made to hide from her reality in her dreams 3: First opinion on the friends she made up, they're actions are based off of 1 trait as she might find people to complicated and people from tv shows or games easier to understand 4: THAT SHADOW FIGURE OMG ok so that could be 1: someone hoping she wakes up 2: a shadow of what she hopes to be her furture when she wakes up 5: "everybody, comlicated" I find social interactions and uderstanding people hard so this might be her trying to catagorize people outside of her life into neat catagories so she can understand them, she has herslef in 1 color aswell because this is how life is to her because of the (fake) world around her she tries to be like that aswell 6: her sitting in the hospital at the night, she might be in the hospital from forgetting to nourish herself/cleaning because she "already did it" in her fake world 7: her hospital ID card, it might be a sign that shes close to waking up or someone outside trying to wake her up and something intruding her dream to remind her I couald go into this but I don't want to :D 8: Don't forget on the card, she doesn't see herself when she looks in the mirror because of how much time spent not looking at herself, trust me when I say this because its happening to me😎 9: the figure is standing into a tunnel that should lead to life but instead takes her back to her fake world which might mean she f***ing dies while in there trying to hide from her problems Now lets clear up some things! I simply love the fantasies about places that you made up for yourself. Where anything you want can happen and you write the rules. Mine is like an underground, japanese city with cozy flats, lots of bars and neonsigns, where you have to work 4 hours a day, friday is also weekend, and there is no government, neither rules, because only those can access that "secret city" who know that if they kill, steal, vandalize etc., they will break that blissful, clean and perfect atmosphere of the city. I imagine it as a place where you can just escape if the whole world turns against you. I also use this fantasy as a source of inspiration. What are your fantasies about your "safe places"? I want to inspire from other peoples ideas.
The Soviet bunker with everything necessary for life, automated protection system and a nuclear suitcase connected to the "Dead Hand" system. An absolutely safe place, because if potential opponents evaporated in the fury of thermonuclear fire, then there is no one else to be afraid.

I've always had this weird feeling of nostalgia while watching this video, or if more accurate, kinda sad that we can't get into such a beautiful world, and even if we will, we'll probably forget who we are and who matters to us in the real world, as there is an id card dropped for MC to remember about her true identity.

The character design is impeccable. The anination is professional. The dynamic are interesting. The story is something hunanity failed to make a word for because this level of quality was thought to be impossible. It is executed perfectly. This is truly the age of indie animation. I feel like that weird red eyed entity is something highly detested in this world because it tries to wake people up and make them remember, which is not an inherently bad thing it just wants to make people not forget who they are before they forget themselves, like a misunderstood “monster”

Theory: all of the OCs were human beings, then the two evil looking guys in cloaks dragged all of them into this seemingly wonderland reality. The thing is, is that I think the two people in cloaks are forced by someone of higher ranking to capture these people, which is why one of them looks at the world with guilt at the end. Not sure about the card that was left behind though 🤔

I’ve been thinking that maybe the person who appeared might’ve been the exact person from Lonely Religion meme/animation. They might’ve gave the card back so that she doesn’t forget, maybe he tried it with the rest of the people we were introduced, but they all chose to forget. Maybe since we keep seeing her not as cheerful as she is, she chose to NOT forget.

0:15 such a weirdly cool detail is that our main character has her left eye closed when she first arrives, and in the next shot she now has an eyepatch, showing how her eye for some reason got damaged and stopped working when she arrived, and they quickly patch it up for her.
I think it's meant to be damaged because of the horn poking into it, it's noticeably longer than the other one.
This is why kakke is one of my favorite animators , all the work all the animations, art style , story , this one really shocked me , I think I watched it at least 4 times already- We are so happy you are back on yt TT!

so much progress and advancements compared to previous animation. When I got the notification, I thought it was a different person before I checked your channel. Good to see you back here. p.s. I love your OCs, hopefully I get such amazing anim skill like you to be able to animate my OCs.
I actually really wanted to use a similar idea for my second setting when I was writing it a few years ago, because I felt like the first one just set too much boundaries for me and I did not feel like I put all of my creative out...
But then I just said "Screw it, I don't want to go with a boring realism :D" and then I started adding more colourful characters into my first setting and it became much more cozy and rememberable. I am still thinking about the "dream world", and I basically pulled a reverse and now it is the dull one with a lot of darker colours!

Honestly, that's usually what happens with series considered masterpieces. When you just can't stand the reality's limitations and you just want to throw out all your ideas in, good writing comes from heart.

...I've had a fantasy like this in the past, and I think that I get the shadowy cloaked figure, watching everyone live their dream/perfect/ideal/I can't find the word life. It pains him to look at this character forget their old life and instead prefer the bliss of this one, especially because... It's almost like looking at someone in heaven, a child released from life into a bliss that, terribly unfortunate, was a bad one. Because life is a gift, and to reject it is sad, to reject life means that yours was torture.

1: she wasn't originally dreaming this much but it quickly became an out of control kind of addiction
2: this world was definetly made to hide from her reality in her dreams
3: First opinion on the friends she made up, they're actions are based off of 1 trait as she might find people to complicated and people from tv shows or games easier to understand
4: THAT SHADOW FIGURE OMG ok so that could be 1: someone hoping she wakes up 2: a shadow of what she hopes to be her furture when she wakes up
5: "everybody, comlicated" I find social interactions and uderstanding people hard so this might be her trying to catagorize people outside of her life into neat catagories so she can understand them, she has herslef in 1 color aswell because this is how life is to her because of the (fake) world around her she tries to be like that aswell
6: her sitting in the hospital at the night, she might be in the hospital from forgetting to nourish herself/cleaning because she "already did it" in her fake world
7: her hospital ID card, it might be a sign that shes close to waking up or someone outside trying to wake her up and something intruding her dream to remind her I couald go into this but I don't want to :D

I simply love the fantasies about places that you made up for yourself. Where anything you want can happen and you write the rules. Mine is like an underground, japanese city with cozy flats, lots of bars and neonsigns, where you have to work 4 hours a day, friday is also weekend, and there is no government, neither rules, because only those can access that "secret city" who know that if they kill, steal, vandalize etc., they will break that blissful, clean and perfect atmosphere of the city. I imagine it as a place where you can just escape if the whole world turns against you. I also use this fantasy as a source of inspiration. What are your fantasies about your "safe places"? I want to inspire from other peoples ideas.
The Soviet bunker with everything necessary for life, automated protection system and a nuclear suitcase connected to the "Dead Hand" system. An absolutely safe place, because if potential opponents evaporated in the fury of thermonuclear fire, then there is no one else to be afraid.

The story is something hunanity failed to make a word for because this level of quality was thought to be impossible. It is executed perfectly. This is truly the age of indie animation. I feel like that weird red eyed entity is something highly detested in this world because it tries to wake people up and make them remember, which is not an inherently bad thing it just wants to make people not forget who they are before they forget themselves, like a misunderstood “monster”
