Great camera angles! The diesel look amazing and that little sneak peek of what’s yet to come all looks good. Being the first one to blow the whistle on number.90 is the ribbon cutting of model railroading.
Nice trains and great video. I was nice to briefly meet you on your recent trip to Concord. Love the eyeball expression when you got the tour through our shop and repair inventory.
Great video Chris. Even though I model HO scale, I love seeing your layout which is top notch and I love seeing the awesome pieces in your collection. You have given me a lot of inspiration for my own layout
Wow what a beautiful train. Lionel killed it with that super paint job . Your layout looks really good Guy . Nice rock work and scenery. You can really let them run on that upper level . Very nice !
Awesome video Chris. My wife wants the Aberdeen train so bad! We backed out on that one and now she regrets it. I bought the Norfolk and Southern OCS lionel version from Brady's trains and can't wait til it gets here!
I had to order that one when I saw it. The paint scheme jumped off the page, haha! You found a great set at Brady's though with that Lionel OCS. Enjoy that set!
There it is the beautiful North folk Southern. I have only have two trains I am trying to work an a layout in my den on a 4x8 it's is hard to come up with ideas but to make as much train as possible and still have a realistic and good looking scenery. But your channel has given me great I deas for mine thank you and ceep making great videos.
Chris, this may be the most visually satisfying train action you’ve released! All those beautiful F units! I kept hoping to see the Union Pacific set take a lap. And of course every time the Santa Fe Black Bonnet 2-10-10-2 was in frame, I got even more excited. Beautiful trains!
Matt just received my black bonnet reefers and gondola so my new mth premier black bonnet freight consist is missing only my yet to be issued caboose. Video for you soon. I luv black bonnet. Gary j
Chris, I've never heard of the Carolina, Aberdeen & Western either. My spies have failed me! Anyway, those are some beautiful aquisitions! I miss the N-S OCS (N-S brass have dead souls!) but it was one gorgeous train just the same. Interestingly those NS F-units were totally rebuilt by N-S and in actual fact they're GP38's under the hood now. No matter, as long as they're still alive! And that is ONE striking paint scheme on the CA&W units! Wonderful! Thanks for posting! Enjoyable as always!
The ACWR F units are so awesome. On there run to NoDa near Charlotte NC, i chased them to Star NC from Candor. These units hold a special spot for me, thanks for this video!
This is so cool!! I shared this with a friend of mine that works with the ACW. this is awesome!! Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you and the fam!!
Pretty locomotives. F units are a favorite to almost all model railroaders. I really like your track choice in the new upper loop. The track with ballast is very realistic looking.
Another great video chris..you taught me a lot about these trains. I like the new Aberdeen f unit best. Your humorous comments during your videos make me laugh..." how many times can I say the word sound"?
Chris!! Where’s the Christmas at?? The coloured bridge etc? Great video dude Waaaaaaait!!! Did I just witness a SMALL Chris in front on the burgundy generator car??? Wicked!!
The Christmas bridge is safe, I assure you! It became part of the Christmas layout that my family sponsors at a local event in my town. Between my little Christmas village and our tree in the house, we have plenty of Christmas trains running around, haha! And yes, that is a 3D printed copy of me that you see on the layout! Thanks for watching
Chris, You have a nice selection of F units. The latest addition is beautiful. I don't think a purchaser could make a wrong choice with Lionel offering both new owners of the locomotives. Congratulations on your new addition and thanks for sharing the video! Enjoy!
Great video Chris. To answer your question yes I do miss NS Ocs train. I wish I could have seen it in real life. I enjoy watching it on RUclips though. Keep up the great work
What a great set of diesels - I remember reviewing that with Ryan in the catalog and I was completely drawn to it when I first saw it. Congrats on picking that up Chris!
What a great train run video, Chris! A very striking paint scheme on the Aberdeen line F3. I got the impression that it was a fantasy paint scheme, I think from Jason. So it's a real operating shortline? Interesting. Thanks for the train run. Hope you and your family enjoy a very happy holiday season.
Very cool set, when cataloged I doubted they would get the colors correct on the ACWR but I will admit I WAS WRONG! it looks great. BTW both sets are awesome. Nice video btw, one of the best!
Most of my engines are diesel. I love the variety. Great camera work. I am sure you know which train on this video is my favorite ;-) Awesome as always
I'd only seen the Aberdeen in the catalogue. Looks even better on the tracks. Can't wait to see the full consist in motion. Those colorful trains are hit or miss sometimes. Definite homerun with that one Chris!!
Great video! Just to supplement a little info on the ACWR units- The road also runs from Star, NC to Charlotte, and they just bought that section outright from NS. The F units are usually kept inside the company shops, but occasionally they'll bring them out for business functions, or display along the route for an event. Following the RR's social media is generally the best way to get a heads up on any big moves. Glad to see Lionel start engaging and working with North Carolina companies! Here's hoping the LCCA convention in Concord will get a few more NC pieces out on the market..
Not sure how you feel about putting this in the comments but if you want to check out a video about the engineer Todd Treaster who Operated the Norfolk Southern executive train in the Norfolk Southern paint job, check out DJ's trains RUclips channel and his recent interview with that engineer. Very cool stories from the man himself!
I've suggested it to them, but we need more and more blue & orange fans to get on Ryan and crew at Lionel to produce more of the Reading & Northern Full Vista Domes from a few years ago, along with a Reading & Northern Generator Car too. And to anyone questioning it: Yes, the R&N/RBMN has one, #1250, and it is a converted Heavyweight baggage or Horse car.
This is really cool I like the Norfolk Southern train set and the other one the colors are vibrant and since you're waiting on the other two cars to come just for the fun of it you should put a Fred on the back of the coupler AKA end of train that blinks I think you'll be funny a little bit and do it for kicks.
ive been watching you ever since i downloaded youtube lol you are the best train tuber ive ever seen keep up the good work my friend also when will you do a RBP met. like when we send videos of are set
I didn't event think about that, haha. I work in IT so acronyms all start blending together after a while haha! Thanks for watching and thank you for your service!!
@@RBPTrains Aw shucks, wasn't nothin'! IT acronyms, oh brother. I had to take some IT courses for the old job and if it wasn't for the crib sheets I never would have passed the exams! It reminded me of Broadway shows and ball games: "You can't tell the players without a program!" At this point the only one I remember is https!
That Aberdeen Carolina and western has an interesting color choice that's for sure but that gold as you called it at least on the video looks more yellow to me and I don't think that yellowish gold would be the right color. Maybe if it was more of a metallic gold and purple it would look better in eyes, idk but I know I'm a suckered for metallic colors lol. Great video as always.i live watching the layout grow and change and makes me wish I had the kind of money to go O scale or never got rid of HO scale collection when I was in high school cause it was something everyone knew about me and picked on for it. I regret ever letting that get to me :(
You may be right with regard to the yellow/gold colors. The shade changes depending on the lighting. I agree about the metallic colors! Took me a while before I could start collecting O Gauge so I am sure you will be building up a collection before you know it! And don't listen to folks who try to put us down for liking model railroading. Everyone has their thing :)
I am here for the post war stuff! Was that a Santa Fe 2343? I have the 2383 A units with a 2343C and the 2500 series coaches around my Christmas tree. I have been working on adding a larger loop on my layout to run them as my original layout wasnt set up for those large coaches.
Its great to see the smaller lines represented in Lionel, it gives great variation to their product line apart from the usual Pennsylvania, New York Central, Union Pacific and Santa Fe Trains, which seem to be the go to road names for Lionel and many other model train companies. Also Chris, how do you make your 2343 run so quietly? I know they are known as the growlers, but my 2343 locomotives runs very loud.
Sigh..I need a bigger room , not house, Picked up the legacy f9 reading& Northern (which we all know is faster and smoother than purple paint ; JK) ...and had to return it..waiting for it to get fixed.....Fan motor sounds like something from DR WHO (exterminate)...But agreed 110% the bass is great...Perhaps one day they will allow for Bluetooth sound to send to your stereo system.... You bet! I did a video on that one earlier this year. Just look through my video list and you will see a picture of me holding it with a big old smile on my face, lol. Thanks for watching.
Nice! Anytime I see anything NS, I'm happy.
I have to say. This is some of the best camera work you’ve ever done! It was really enjoyable!
Thank you very much!
@@RBPTrainsif I were to get two lionchief Santa Fe super chief could I run them as one train and could one be facing forward and one backwards
F units! My absolute favorite. And yes you are correct about that color scheme on the Aberdeen Carolina and Western - colorful trains are awesome.
Thanks, Chris. I have wanted an F3 for ages. Really enjoyed this one! 😁
The Post War F3s are my favorite engines to run. Not sure why but I always go back to them. Thanks for watching!
You can’t beat an F unit and here you have 3 real beauties great cinematography love those bridges
Thanks Dan!
I loved where you put mini me on the layout. Keep it up, and he just might take over..
I am waiting for him to take over and start operating the trains for me... :)
@@RBPTrains careful now. He might try to hi jack BIG STEAM.
Just like I told Ericstrains I love seeing this on your layout because I live next to the Aberdeen Carolina and western

Wow!!! Great camera angles, Chris! Excellent video, and I’m loving all the exciting new updates to your layout!
Thank you my friend!
I know Jason is loving that Norfolk southern set. It's beautiful
Waiting to see if he adds this one as well, haha!
You're a pro and it shows. Great film....enjoyable and entertaining. Thank You !
The change to the upper level makes for some epic shots.
Running some trains when I saw this. Perfect

Beautiful models and great video ! The paint on them is top notch ,could really see the shine on ns units and that purple and gold really pop
They do pair well together!
Diesels… the best kind of O gauge locos! Love the big-nosed diesels from the 1940s-1960s, particularly the E8, F7, Class 37 and DP1/Class 55

I actually have an HO scale model of NS 4270, an office car special f9ph, which was retired in I think 2015.
I never got to see the ocs with the f units and I wish manufacturers would make that set in HO scale
Ya might want to check out the worm gears on the trucks? They come from factory non greased. Up to you to risk not looking
While steam engines are definitely more iconic, the colors of diesels are something steamers can’t top.
Cool you got the new trolley
I got trolley too
That little trolley is awesome!
I did see the Notthfolk Southern running between Altoona and Holidaysburg twice
You should do a Lionel postwar run session, just a recommendation.
Hi Chris. Being retired Navy, OCS always meant “Officers Candidate School”. Love both of your passenger trains.
