I bought XCOM 2 on steam sale. Asked my friend who's a pretty big fan for any advice going into it. The only advice he offered was choosing the UFO defence soundtrack. NO REGRETS
Oh man its such a great free update also the battleworn oufits for your soldiers are cool too Xcom 2 is such a good game(The 1st one was good too) i bought it full price upon its original release i bought its Xpac full price and i don't regret it i always play a game here and there and plus on PC with Steam workshop and mods support its fantastic for replayability i can't wait for a Xcom 3 in the futur. The thing i would really want them to do but i doubt it would be doable. Is a multiplayer mode were 2 player play the game like in the story but one is the aliens and one is Xcom or maybe at least 2 campaign one for the aliens and one Xcom.
I just wonder if there's a way to do multiplayer allowing each player to control one or more soldiers.

The problem with this music pack is, the game takes too long to start because i have to listen to the entire track on every mission briefing. The music is too awesome to skip.
Play it on Ironman Commander setting and you will have to spend every moment you get perfecting your squad and you get to be productive while listening to this. There is no "too long" when building a squad capable of taking on any challenge without as much as a scratch.
It's worse. I play this through Soundpad on local comms while playing Squad, in helicopters and IFVs... Can't drive slow anymore. Can only kill.
I spend at least 5 min in loadout so fine

Aw, c'mon! I know it's nostalgia time and all, but let the flyboys have thrust vectoring at least! The Super Flanker has that retro aesthetic, is a beautiful mach jouster, and can be outfitted with thrust vectoring (and thus rule the skies).
When a massive Alien battleship, fitted with the most powerful weapons the Aliens have to offer, gets shot down by a small fighter cobbled together from salvaged UFO components.
And piloted by a man with an ironing board hair-do

Grabs the biggest gun you own, and goes get 3-5 of your friends to load up into your van which you have haphazardly attached wings to. After you have you’re team, a monitor flickers to life, and a guy with very poor lighting tells you that humanity is counting on you and good luck. It’s time to blasts some sectoids.
God, it's hard to believe I ever played XCOM 2 without this soundtrack. Such a perfect fit holy shit
XCOM Enemy Unknown is even better with this music.

It's not easy, I'll tell you that. Sometimes retreat is not an option, but a necessity. And sometimes you somehow manage to keep enough guys with heavy lasers alive to fight off a terror mission that introduced you to Ethereals and their Sectopods. Literally nothing else can punch through it, like, Jesus Christ.
But maybe I am still struggling in the mid game. I barely approach new airships, and it's still August. Things should be able to change.

@@garr_inc Well there's your problem, you're using Heavy Lasers, by far and above the worst weapon in the game. Rocket Launcher (small or large HE) does the same job, but better, and for far cheaper. Of course, this comment is a year old, you probably know this by now.

I tend to use RLs as problem solvers, not standard issue equipment.
Regardless, now that I have played through The X-COM Files and halfway through The X-Piratez, I think the advice is a bit late to the party. Still, thank you for the input!
Man I remember seeing the OG intro with the cheesy music playing as you watched xcom agents mow down mutons with ballistic weapon. It was awesome.
And now we get to do it again. Gotta hand it to Firaxis for giving us this one helluva love letter!

I want to talk about picture of Skyranger from X-COM: UFO Defense Ufopedia from the video: on the picture it ascends at 30-35 degree angle, and at the same time he carries up to 14 soldiers or 10 soldiers and a freaking tank! And they just stand on the floor, there's nothing they can hold to... On arrival the only thing left will be minced meat... and tank...
There are probably harnesses or at least handholds on the cabin ceiling.

instead of having regular soldiers in xcom 2 my squad consists of Aria'Tlok, dogulas the spartan from halo wars, Tucker from rvb, Deadpool, Nier, Republic commando's, Snake, Titanfall 2 pilots, imperial guradsmen, the mobile infantry and some Clone Troopers to boot.
MV Master I did my best to make Sub-Zero and Erron Black from Mortal Kombat, and Doomsday from DC Comics.
Custom characters are half the fun in this game and it’s glorious.

Played this going into the final mission. I really wish the actual DLC was available on consoles, but I had to settle for this.
Regardless, the energy of this track really helped the feel of taking the fight to the aliens, and I thank this track for helping me get through with no deaths. (That, and the chosen weapons, those things are great).
The chosen weapons are completely fair and balanced

Jake Hamilton try getting open xcom it gives some quality of life things and also allows you to do one off battles you could learn with that along with a RUclips tutorial if you haven't already

It's the Interception track, which is itself based on the main theme of the game. (In the intro.)
