Im an aircraft de icer up north and i must say, very spot on. We use Type 1 glycole sprayed at 35% mostly cases will go to 45%. And type 4 at 100% always. As an Iceman, we always make sure that the aircraft parking break is set, aircraft is configured, and what type of treatment the pilot need. Hold over time may be requested but if type 4 is applied, 5 minutes after type 1 is the hold over time. We use U car dow endurance eg 106 @ 100% .
Hey, regarding the de/anti icing form. When the commander gives you this request form and you’ve completed the procedure how do you get the form back to the commander once the details like Type used, what step, fluide and signature on the form?
Assuming at some airport locations, the tug driver doesn't want to chance slipping on apron or have engine airflow affect the directional control or blowing snow/ice onto the tug.
MSFS 2020/Asobo need to fix ice build up on the windows despite having all window heat 'on, '. Ice build up on the widescreen wipers would be a good indication that ice is present.
Hi, I’m a real World Deicer/dispatcher as Well in Denmark. I would be cool at som point to taxi to the Deicing area and then request Deicing and bring able to do a 2-step procedure. Also Deicing always starts with the body if the aircraft because u have No holdover time on this. And it is madatory to start with vertical sstabilizer and the movie your way down to the horizantal stabiliser and last the Wing. Here it’t importatant to start from the outside and work your way in letting the fuild doing it’s job. And holdover time always starts when the last step of the Deicing starts according to SAE rules. Nice videos Emmanuel!!!👏🏼👏🏼
Nice Video, greetings from pushback driver and deicer located in EDDM. According about engine start during push, i can say from my job, if there is a slippery apron, i will deny engine start until close to end position, or by a push and pull.
Indeed, when the apron is slippery things are different. Under the majority of conditions though engine start during icing conditions during pushback is no problem. GSX even tells you to delay engine start when it's 9°C and raining... since... "icing conditions".
That's funny. In 2022 Ryanair Pilot at EPGD tried to take off with visible ice on the wing without de-icing. A passenger intervened and the pilot stated that it was his plane and they spent themselves in an argument. Ryanair declined to comment. The Polish aviation authority was informed of the incident along with a photo of the iced wing I think it is still investigating.
I haven't heard about that incident yet, but rest assured what you say does *not* represent Ryanairs philosophy on Deicing or what they teach in the training department.
@@A330Driver just a question, is it a thing to use different types of anti-ice fluids at the same time irl? for instance use the type 1 and then the type 4
so captain de icing only when there's snow and rain or wet conditions if its dry and 0degree Celsius or even less than that with no snow or rain then no need for de icing right ??
Do you have to deice at the gate with GSX or can you go over to a deicing pad and select it there. I don’t think anyone de ices at the gate in Canada or the US.
Speaking of msfs not being accurate in winter wxa.. the other day I had accumulation on windshield and wings .I turned the apu on with the window heaters and it removed the accumulation went away all over the aircraft 😆
No idea how the APU is involved in that, it has zero effect on icing. Without the APU that doens't happen? But with the windshield heat that is an interesting discovery. Have you submitted a support ticket?
@737NGDriver I have never had the situation replicated again. At that time I had real world weather on. I will try to replicate it again by manually changing the weather and see how it goes.

We spray type 1 full body of an aircraft or sometimes just type 1 wings and tails. But for type 4, only on wings and tails

amazing insight into winter ops, thank-you for taking your time to make this amazing content.
Glad you enjoy it! More will be coming!

Great information, thanks' Emmanuel. These tips and procedures give the simulator a whole new emersion!
My pleasure!
first of all, thanks for putting fsx orbit airlines livery, second of all, amazing video .... Really love your content
Glad you enjoy it! Love that paint as well!

I'm going to test this scenario myself.

Hope so!

Great livery
Indeed it is!
HOT starts when treatment started not completed
Gsx is deicing the wings in wrong way. It's supposed to be spraying leading edge to trailing edge right ?
Oh, surprise. A GSX bug ;-)
I'd probably rather ask what actually works than what doesn't... might be a shorter list.
When the second part will be out? Thank you for all this usefull information

As the captain explained, you need to have also visible moisture alongside with the snow etc. Then you get the icing conditions.
Hey, I have a question - what do we do with engines and flaps during the remote deicing? I'd appreciate your reply :)
If you deice the lower wing engines off. Otherwise you let them run in idle power.

I think it has to be done at the gate
With GSX you still have to do it at the gate unfortunately. I'd love to see a remote deicing area as well!
@@A330Driver Do you think it would be possible to shutdown engines and deice at the deicing pad or does it have to be physically located at the gate?
Is there a website where I can find SNOWTAM of any airport?
I'm not aware of a public one which however doesn't mean there is none. In my company we get them through a dedicated EFB page.
