The effectiveness of negative ion generators in achieving specific benefits, such as air purification or mood enhancement, is a topic of debate and ongoing scientific research. While some studies suggest potential positive effects, others have found limited or inconclusive evidence.

Based on the discription the device uses ions to make the polluntants like dust heavy and fall to the ground. So it makes it easier to sweep up the dust and get rid of it. So if you dont sweep or vaccum there will still be dust in the room.

    • @donaldsharrer812

This doesn't measure the dust on the floors, so there should be a difference in air quality if it has fallen.

Ok a couple of comments. The VOC went up drastically because it measures the amount of created toxins in the air by mechanical means such as a gas stove or a gas fireplace, or a hair dryer, or a wood burning fireplace. The 5 air ionizers you plugged in to a single bedroom put enough ionized particles in the air for that voc count to go up significantly. That is what it was measuring. So those devices did do something they increased the VOC count significantly. They also did remove some of the radon.
Also try this at home any of you that own this air quality tester. Set it up in a living room with carpet. Test the air in your room. Then run your vacuum cleaner over the carpet. Now test the air quality again. Unless you have a very good hepa vacuum you will see your air quality go very bad in seconds. The PM and VOC count will rise drastically. All coming out of the carpet.

Identify and Address Air Quality Issues: Indoor air quality monitors can detect pollutants and other harmful substances in the air, such as mold, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). By identifying these issues early on, building managers can take steps to address them, such as improving ventilation, cleaning or replacing air filters, and reducing the use of chemical cleaners.

Thanks for the information, it was a good first attempt however, you did not measure the outside air so we have no real reference to base your conclusions on.
Example, if the outside pollen count was 200 when you measured the inside, but then went to 400 6 days later then the units did not make the pollen worse, it was normally worse with or without the Clarifion.
Now, I also don't believe these things do as advertised but without outside measurements we simply can't yet prove it.
Please be note that this is just one possible fluctuating variable to consider. You also need to consider temperature inside & outside, because this changes the atmospheric density and this could also affect the pollution/pollen & other stuff concentration.
Also consider your environment, how is it attached to the outside? Is there only an inside door to the house and not one directly to the outside? Are there two doors, one to the inside of the house one to the outside?
How often over the week did you open those doors? For how long? etc.
I trust you can see what I'm getting at. You first need to measure all three environments, keep tract of door usage, for a week without the device plugged in, and then again with the device plugged in before any real conclusions can be made.
I got my master's in physics from USC in 1976 this problem/experiment is both of interest to Chemists and Physicists, and many others like environmentalists, and I'm sure you are close to some university or college where you live. Why not contact them to see how they would handle a "simple" test of this device. They might even have a controlled environment space to use for the test.
Pronunciation (My take on it): Clarif - comes from Clarification, and ion comes from them using negative ions, so Clarif ion into Clarifion.
    Thanks again,

But you can buy an ionizer that mounts into the A/C unit. And works the best. It zaps all particles in the air before they go out the a/c vents. About $400.

    VOC
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are everywhere around you. Taking in a deep breath, even in the comfort of your own home, can have a negative effect on your health if VOCs are present. It can be scary to think that the air you are breathing could someday cause you to develop asthma or cancer. While your test is not scientific... it shows averages are worse(not sure why it would get worse)... maybe 5 in a 10 X 15 room is negatively affecting results...
When the human nose cannot detect danger, it is difficult to believe it may be all around us. Yet, that is the hidden hazard of VOCs. Oftentimes, VOCs waft through our homes and other indoor spaces disguised as pleasant-smelling fragrances, so our noses are fooled by the presentation.

  • @linuxd
    @linuxd 5 месяцев назад

if it made it worse, thats actually a good sign.
The ionizer causes particles to clump up together so that they can be absorbed by filtration systems.
Give it a couple months with an actual filter running too to remove said particles from the air.

It looks like your air quality improved… in 1 week’s time… maybe you should test it for 2 weeks or even 3 weeks. Then unplug all of them and check if the air quality goes down while they are unplugged… also, you tested it during only 1 season… the air quality may be better or worse in different seasons. To truly know how something works in and during several environmental changes; day and night, summer and winter, (windows and doors open or closed could also effect the results) you need to do multiple tests. This is how a scientist will conduct a study… things like that may take time, and multiple tests. You are the first reviewer that I watched… I will check other videos to see the various results. Thank you for the “air things tester” I appreciated the straight facts regarding your air quality. And thank you for the definitions of each measurement!! 😊
