I have been watching televised bowling for almost 60 years. Those conditions were unreal. Dennis Jacques said it right, the oil on the lanes was not allowing the balls to hold in the pocket or sliding by the pocket. It was very entertaining to see these great players have to figure it out. Congratulations to Mr. Jacques on his first win. Thanks for the video.
Mrbowling300 - You are the best have been wathing all events on yuotube from the start to this event so far, great to see all the oldschoolers keep up the good work!
IMO the rare case where a decent amateur might have had the advantage over a touring pro. The pros bowl on experience and expectations. A good league player may have simply bowled what he saw.
This title match happened to be one of the lowest combined scores in a match back then, and that 157 I think was the lowest winning score on TV. Anyway, great job in uploading these classic PBA shows. Keep up the good work Keith.
23 open frames including ones in the fill in the 10th frames! Yikes. Field averaged 181.63 for the eight games. Bo Burton Jr always claimed the 1984 Quaker State Open had the most opens with nineteen but this was worse.

5 good bowlers. Zurich and Wunderlich were huge underachievers.
That opening music....a cross between the end of disco and a bad western.
Watch Kill Bill 2 and you'll appreciate the song more.

Open frames are one thing, but short-count open frames are a whole different story!!!
I bowled in this tournament, and was the worst I bowled in any pro tournament. There seemed to be hardly any oil on the lanes.

Those damn knives looks like u can stab somebody, just by looking at them. That's crazy, yo.
The first and title matches were exciting and close
Andrew Phillips
Mark Roth and Earl Anthony have bowled some exciting matches
George N. Pappas and Ernie Schlegel have bowled some awesome matches
1:39:00 sounds like he fouled on that shot. Anyone else hear the buzzer?
Do you have the us open from 1983?
Andrew Phillips so you can spoil the outcome?
Yeah, I got it and it was awesome !
1:28:07....That's probably what I would have said too, Dennis! ; )
Great post, thank you!!! You're on a roll! Do you happen to have the 1983 Miami Open (Webb def. P. Weber in the title match)?
Uploading it now....check my channel for it. Thank you and enojy.
I love those old Irish ☘️ Spring 🧼 Commercials!! I wanted to jump in the shower with the hot Irish lady!! 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡😎👍
Dennis Jacques was fortunate to get 8 pins to win by 1 pin in the low scoring title match in the Molson bowling challenge
Thanks for the info. I lapsed into a coma during the semi
there were a lot of open frames in the Molson Bowling Challenge
Andrew Phillips there were a lot more filled frames also in the Molson Bowling Challenge
You’re still the same JERKOFF giving away the results before people watch it!!
I'm pretty sure Dennis Jacques has a hand in the lowest total pinfall match, which I think was 163-133 on ABC. Forget which tournament, though.
NYDanno85 well that was wiped away with a 299-100 match
@@douglasharris5216 Combined. Mika would've beaten them in a handicap match 299-296
