- It's Dungeness crab season and time for a longtime Northern California tradition; crab feeds! These have been popular fundraisers since the 60s and are now huge community events. Recently wineries are getting into the game. In February I attended both a traditional crab feed and a nicer crab cioppino feed at a local pop-up restaurant.

@@ZeeneInRealLife Up to now, we've been getting our crab fix at Betty Lou's Diner in North Beach, and that's good. But the one you did with the silent auction looked like a lot of fun. And Homestead in San Jose looked just delicious!
I'll have to check out Betty Lou's! I really love dungeness and hope this November they have a good harvest.
@@ZeeneInRealLife The owners are from Hawaii (where I'm from), so I felt that they knew how to cook crab. Very Asian style, with lots of ginger and green onion.

I love crab no matter what day and what month .
We get previously frozen Dungeness crab here in Hawaii, but not the same as fresh.
You guys have some other really tasty crab species there though that we don't get ;)
