The story with capturing sherman crews is a good one. Americans have captured German POWs alive and then survived after surrendering. Always treat POWs good because later you might end up being one yourself.
For once, this story was told relatively accurately. Only a couple of points missed. For example, the British accidentally attacked their own ship with mangeet torpedoes that didn't work, so they had to use older torpedoes. The Germans themselves sunk their ship and it was done by blowing up the bottom of the propeller tunnel. This operation was called Operation X, which prevented secrets from being leaked to the Alliance and the knowledge that the Alliance's torpedoes did not pass through the ship's torpedo belt.
Dude, both are awesome....yarnhub is consistent and he is way more detailed but he always chooses a small topic....oversimplified on the other hand is inconsistent, his videos aren't that detailed but he explains a huge topic(whole WW2, ww1, Napoleon, French revolution etc etc) in a very simplified way which is way easy to memorize and understand......so both are good and most importantly both are educating ourselves.....

great design, dedication and skill but their strategies were very questionable yes they took over europe in a few years, but that was simply because they were so effective and coordinate, but time and time again their strategies were the key reason they lost the war, i mean come on, how can you push the british to the beaches of dunkirk but they stopped their tank advance and let the luftwaffe "take care" of things and let 300k+ soldier excape on civilian boats that had the time to come from england, very embarrassing. not to mention thinking it was a good idea to move east wasting resources and making it difficult for logistics and spreading the army thing. i mean if that doesnt scream tactical geniuses idk what will

It is worth saying Marseille absolutely HATED the idea of killing another pilot even one who was attempting to kill him. He was known for being extremely accurate and intentionally aiming to incapacitate the aircraft.
I would love it if Yarnhub did a video on the Monchy 9 of Newfoundland. 9 men of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment positioned at Monchy-le-Preux during the Battle of Arras in 1917 hid behind shrubbery and defended the town from a German force anywhere from 200 - 300 men strong for 11 hours to prevent a German break through. I think it is a very cool and very underrated battle that sounds like the plot of a movie.

I am, by inclination , an amateur WAR history buff, so I always enjoy reading or listening to factual history stories; even those which need to use dramatic embellishment to emphasize the drama of the tale. This video reminds of a short lived WW2 DC comic book titled Wehrmacht which uses a fictional set of German Soldiers to narrate the POV of the German Army in some of WW2's famous (and infamous) campaigns. While the comic delved a bit into the political and social elements of WW2 German military life, this video focuses only on actual battles and the participants, making it , in a way, more believable since I feel that even the Dramatic Embellishments are based on the available facts. thanks again.
VERY GOOD! I had no idea of the stories of some of these men! I am more educated, thanks to your efforts. Wishing you continued good luck moving forward!
This is currently my favorite content on RUclips, every video is always fun to watch and really hooks me in! Great storytelling and the animations are a nice bonus
seriously, why is it like this they kill each other with no mercy sometimes, but when they’re wounded it’s like they know each other since their birth seriously but the moment they’re back to normal they’ll be still friends with like 2 or 3 more days or hours but then they’re back to killing each other. Very sad.
I'm sorry if i keep repeating this, but i would really like an animation about the 132nd armoured division "Ariete" last stand in the second battle of El Alamein, Egypt. I think it would be a great story to read and an example of how fierce italian soldiers actually were during ww2! Anyway amazing stories as always, keep going! ❤️
I agree. The Ariete division gives the lie to the assertions that Italians didn't know how to fight - not forgetting the manned torpedo teams that attacked the British battleships in Alexandria harbour. (I met an Italian serviceman who was surprised that I, an RAN officer (retd), knew of that). Post-war, British Admiral Morgan, who was the wartime CO of the 'Valiant' asked, and was granted, permission to present the medal to de la Penne. The medal presented was the Italian equivalent of the VC.
I'd like to suggest Lt. Col. Charles Morris and the 13th Indian frontier force in Tunisia in '42, used his knowledge of Urdu to speak to a group of Indian Sikh POWs to explain an escape plan infront of Rommel himself and was awarded to DSO, or Lt. Royce Priest picking up his Squadrons XO after he landed near Antwerp in late '44 after the other man was shot down in their P51s
Hey Yarnhub, great content per usual! Just an interesting note though, I do see that in the first episode of this compilation, it was a BF-109 F series tropical variant of the plane, but then in the next episode, it seemed to be a BF-109 Emil series planes, I can see it with the differentiation of the wingtips and that there are 2 20mm cannons mounted on the wings(removed in the F variants for more manoeuvrability) and also, I also did see that the plane fired through the propellor shaft, this was not the case for the Emil series, I was wondering did Marseille switch his 109 throughout his career or was this like an animation error, thanks.
its an error. Not only did the German pilots greatly prefer the F, and by 41 the E was relegated to axis allies and in the east for more ground attack, but as you noted yourself the 109F (trop) - the trop is for tropical climates. Im not so sure how well emils would have fared in NA honestly. But no, he didnt revert back to an older, less capable version of the 109 =)
Contrary to the first reply, this is almost certainly not an error; Marseille did fly different 109s through his career (both individual planes lost to crashes, and differing models). The first story takes place in 1942, while the second takes place in 1941. The Bf 109 E variants were first issued to squadrons in early 1939, and served through Poland, France, Holland, the Battle of Britain, and North Africa to name a few. In fact, in 1941, again contrary to the earlier reply, Emil model 109s made up to a third of the 440 109s sent to begin the invasion of the USSR, though they were indeed becoming outdated by that time. The Bf 109 Fs entered production in late 1940 and early 1941, quickly finding revisions like the F-4. The war in Russia eventually say E, F, and G models all serving side by side. It is true, however, that E models were sidelined to minor Axis allies as the war went on, and their numbers stopped being replenished by Germany itself. Squadrons were issued the gradual improvements of the 109, (i.e. E-3, E-4, E-7, F-1, F-4, G-6, and so on...) as command saw fit, usually being dictated by the perceived importance of the front and combat effectiveness of the unit. North Africa was seen as a sideshow by most of German high command, and thus new models of the 109 found their way to North African squadrons slowly (in addition to the issues inherent in sending entire airplanes to Africa). in 1941, Bf 109 Es were not only a common sight in the skies above Europe, they were even more common among the skies of North Africa. This is largely in part because the Germans could get away with it. The Hurricanes, P-40s, Gladiators, and other aircraft employed by the British in North Africa were commonly the lesser models of the improved ones flying in Europe, as evidenced by the earlier P-40Cs flying in the video opposed to the later Es and Fs (also because America only wanted to give them the older ones). Marseille did not begin his career in North Africa. He began flying E-3s in the Battle of the Britain. When his squadron was transferred to North Africa in mid April 1941, they were flying E-7s. The squadron had used modified E-7s (we'll get to that) until October, were they took a trip to Germany to be equipped with the new Bf 109 F4/trops. Thus, the second story in the video uses the Bf 109 E-7, and the fist the Bf 109 F4/trop. But, there is one last detail. The Bf 109 Es absolutely had trop (tropical) modifications. The Bf 109 E3/trop and E4/trop are probably the most numerous (see this picture of one in Marseille's own JG27: www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/JG27-I-MTO/images/Messerschmitt-Bf-109E7Trop-2.JG27-Black-3-Eduard-Neumann-El-Gazala-June-1941-01.jpg ) but the E-7 also had a tropical modification. It is as @jefclark said, he didn't revert to an older model of 109, just not for the reasons given.
@@dragontooth65 Your point did have some validity, however during the clip with the Emil series plane was featured, we saw many clips of where there was a cannon firing through the propellor shaft, this was not possible in the E7 as it only had 20mm MG FF cannons mounted on each of the wings. Now Germany did try to experiment with an MG FF put in the Propellor shaft this variant was a BF109 E-2 Sub variant, however, that proved to be extremely unreliable as the MG FF tend to shake and vibrate a lot when shooting, thus damaging the engine, and also cause the engine to overheat, this is a huge issue in the deserts as it tends to be hot there. Furthermore, the BF109 E-2 Sub variant had NO TROPICAL VARIATIONS! Moreover, Marseille as you mentioned above, didn't fly the E2's so why is there an E2 Sub-variant, especially a non-tropical variant. So this leads to my conclusion that this was most certainly an animation error. (I actually like this, people debating about aircraft)

Hey Yarnhub! Today was the ''War to end all wars'' movie premiere in Poznan Fort VI, i was there. The animations were great! Loved it.
@Mango_Catto Yes, you are correct.
Thank you. Very impressive animation. Also despite not Japanese nor of any age that served in ww2. I sense you encapsulated the Baka’s plight.
I think your animations are ok 👍
And i like your videos❤, my favourite one is about Milhões because i am portuguese
You brought Marseille to life. Thanks ❤
If Marseille isn’t in a single one of these next 8 stories I’m gonna lose it…..
Edit: FINALLY. The most impressive things he did weren’t in the cockpit though
Edit again: hahahahah yesssss another Marseille clip. Alright I take back my frustration on your previous video lol
They got to be the greatest generation so far. So many amazing stories from brave men and women from both sides. Today, a lot of people are beicoming snowflakes and are becoming too soft in general
Could you do an episode about the Polish defense of Grodno in 1939?
Hey, love your work. Could you please do a video on the life of Peter Kemp?
Next time perhaps some lovely story about Adolf and Eva or maybe some loving care of Japanese unit 731.. Buchenwald fairytales of some happy kids would not be bad too.....
Your Channel is one of the extremely few who tell the interesting tales of the Axis side. M glad I found your channel ❤️✌🏻
Being neutral and respectful about history is a Rare commodity these days.
Cheers ✌🏻❤️
1:22 - Stuka tail gunner does not use a 50 cal - but a MG 15 7.92mm machine gun
He is talking about the p 40 almost hit the sticks not the stuka shooting a 50 cal
@@Horror_edited yup, thats a valid point 👍
I know this was terrifying and treacherous but man these boys were living! The feelings they must have felt in these dogfights
seriously, why is it like this they kill each other with no mercy sometimes, but when they’re wounded it’s like they know each other since their birth seriously but the moment they’re back to normal they’ll be still friends with like 2 or 3 more days or hours but then they’re back to killing each other.
Its very nice to see that you also show german victory storys and german war heroes! 😊
I think you're old animations are very good.
This is the best youtube channel ive ever seen. Not only the best ww2 but THE best- The Work you put in your videos..man i have to support you
Yeah, I made it to the end. Good story telling.
Hi Yarnhub, make one for ernst barkmann pliss
Terima kasih YARN HUB. Belajar sejarah menjadi mudah dan lebih cepat di ingat.semangat terus berkarya.Terima kasih
I appreciate the TIE fighter sounds during the transitions for the Thai fighter story :)
I noticed that too 😂
And the font in the text overlays, "ONE DOWN"...
1 minute and 30 second gang👇

Your point did have some validity, however during the clip with the Emil series plane was featured, we saw many clips of where there was a cannon firing through the propellor shaft, this was not possible in the E7 as it only had 20mm MG FF cannons mounted on each of the wings.
Yarn hub is the actual best animator ever❤❤❤❤mad respect
Another set of great animations! Do like Hiroo Onoda, and Please Come to Brazil.
Pls repent from your sins and have faith and believe in Jesus because Jesus is the way the truth and the life Jesus died for you and rose from the death for you
I love your video it make them interesting. You are doing a good job 👏 👍 keep it up
This is better than all movies
Hi yarnhub! Is there any historic stories with planes involving the de haviland vampire? If so please make a video about it because it’s my favorite plane 😅
I’m subscribed
Just as a helping hand in pronunciation:
Eugen is Pronounced like "Oigen"
You guys need to turn all this into a video game.......I used to alpha and beta crap in the day.....
I love yarnhub just like the other hub (memehub)
Want hyperrealsitic graphics? Go out.
Want epic stories? Stay here.
Stories I read about as a teen, seen this time on a hand held device as 70+ yr old geezer.
Pliss do video about a ORP Orzeł
Whoever says their animation is bad they’re absolutely blind😂
average animations + above average script > top notch animations + average script
I love that series! thank you for these stories!
hey yarnhub you videos are amazing and perfect but how do you make them?
Its a ton of work. Manly models and environments in blender, characters are animated in iclone and everything rendered in Unreal Engine
Wow almost 1 million subscribers. the graphics of the videos are like being in the past. otherwise, keep going and good luck :)
if anyone said that the animation as bad....... go to hell
Is there a problem with OG Yarnhub animations?
Nein.
00:48 The Stuka's sirens are called "Trumpets of Jericho" not "Jericho horns"... just sayin. Cool video, know these take a lot of work to create!
arent they called both
James Denis was a fool. Twice he had the opportunity to put this guy away for good, twice he didn't. How many allied pilots died because Denis failed to complete the job?
It was considered unethical and dishonorable by pilots the world over (except Japanese) to kill a surrendering enemy.
I love these videos :) they make my autism feel good
The Stuka’s sirens were known as the “trumpets of Jericho”, not “Jericho horns”… so, I’m a nerd.
Same
'Cave Paintings'??! So, they're Pro Artists, then? The animation is BRILLIANT!
This is my favorite channel to binge watch history on.
They're going to excavate the site this year, thats so cool!
