I have been in the cyber security field for over 22 years. Let me give some tips. It's not a out certs because in this industry we have what is known as paper dragons. That means you have several certs but when you have to initiate in a real world environment you mY not be able to perform. The greatest thing you can do is learn your craft and exhibit what you can do to prospects. Through a video example,a zoom session or a article. That is the new way to break in a d there is a huge shortage of cyber security people.

I agree with what you're saying to an extent. In order to even be applicable for the job most Cyber jobs would like you to have a base level of knowledge and a certification is one of the entry level opportunities. I would say go for security + and practice with certain security tools.

@@strappedup24 yea I honestly don’t want a thousand certs lol. CLOUD is the future..i obtained my Sec+ this past Friday..I’m going to do CompTia PenTest+ & gain a cloud certification & that’s all. A lot of jobs are paying good money for that cloud cert

Do the whole song and dance only to be told the position requires 10 extra hats and the company is looking for a SME in basically everything and I’m not a good fit. Other times I just get straight rejection emails. At least my skin has gotten a bit thicker..

me, I've been applying for more than a year now after graduating from college with a bachelor's degree cybersecurity and it is taking me forever to get a security clearance and without any experience and I have not heard back cause I tried so much. I have certificates but in the end I without security clearance and no experience they have been rejecting me for over a year now. I am tired so in the end I will be enlisting in the Navy as an IT technician and get an officer position in cybersecurity in the military. I'm 25, and about to be 26 years old this year, so I'm a bit out of shape but I've gone to MEPS and I've been waiting for them to give me a medical clearance approved so I can get a career in the military for my cybersecurity, if not, I will implement these tips in this video.

I can't say that you are saying the wrong things. Everything is true. But what to do? When you pay money for studying in the USA. How well you study. You write the truth on your resume that I have no experience. You only apply to become an intern. And what do I see in the description of the requirements for an intern? There is already such a list as if a tax return will be filed. For some reason they came up with some unnecessary certificates. A person just starts a new profession and immediately experiences stress. This is absolutely not correct. And when there is a situation where the number of people willing will be less than the number of workers needed. Then companies may think twice before putting forward any unthinkable demands on a person without experience. Perhaps we should just give him a chance for less money and give him a probationary period. IT is very simple
