Omg I love this deck. Ugh so much for my no buying for the rest of the year. Lmao. I love that the names of the court cards are in Arabic. I totally resonate and it won’t be confusing. Very Semitic which is what I love and very inclusive. Great review xoxo
Dear Simon--- I actually have this deck. The World is a Middle Eastern dancer doing barrel turns with her 4 yard veil. The Princess of Swords is also a dancer, who balances her sword on her head with her dance. I had lived in Egypt for a month, learning and viewing their dance. It is a "creation".
@@the_hermits_cave That was back in 1987, a safer time for all. Sadly dancers are being jailed, they are torturing the Copts, out lawing "the Zar" dance (as pagan) and wish to destroy World Heritage sites.
It is a visually stunning deck and I loved the borderline's shadowing on 2 sides that gave a 'window' look through type viewing. Your choice of music really suited the walk through as well. Blessings.
I didn’t know that was what you did for a living! It’s so fitting!! You’re very kind and inclusive in your videos I’m sure it’s doubled in real life 🙏🏻🌈
Thank you for this. I really thought I would like this deck, the imagery, the color, the cultures... but my eyes are just bad enough that these blurry faces do a number on my eyes. So I'm very grateful to know that before I plunk down the cash. So many other elements of this deck I love. Thank you.
Love those backs! I’m a sucker for colour. I haven’t seen a walkthrough of this deck before, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. ⭐️🌟✨ Much love and light your way ❤️😘
Can't wait to see this one. I actually have it in my bag right now - brought it to work today. Am listening to a podcast too about this period in history. I'll watch when I get home.
Another one I haven’t seen. There are a lot of beautiful images in this deck. I love the theme! 😍 The borders and titles are throwing me a little....but those things often become easier to overlook with time. Maybe? 🤔
Hi Simon. I have to say I liked the box, the deck, the art, but I am not too keen on the name changes. However, that is something that I have to get used to if I want to see decks taking their own route as opposed to RWS or other decks. The lovers card is stunning, as are the lions on the chariot. I Do like the art, I also agree that less border would have been better as it does impose on the art. This may be one to add onto my future buys list. The skeleton in the death card looks like he/she is laughing at us. lol This was such a peaceful walk through to watch. Thank you 💙
I remember seeing this deck in Watkins and wondering what the cards would be like. I really liked The Lovers and The Moon but not over keen on the borders. Really excellent review Simon 😍❤️
This is a lovely deck as far as the images, and if it had descriptions that gave them cultural context it would be wonderful. The Byzantine Tarot has a guidebook that does just that, and also focuses on a specific place and time period. It's going to be released again soon, I think. Tempting to get this one and do research to find out more! Oh -- is there a bibliography?
For a deck that claims to effortlessly unlock the mysteries of the world, that guide book is sure lacking in information. Doesn't answer any of my questions about the symbols, cultures, artwork. Sadly falls short for me.
I'd like to know why Schiffer has recently made the decision to send decks created by POC to be reviewed by non-POC. I understand that POC are trendy at this moment but this is pandering and and example of the white mentality saviour. This is not allyship. This is why I want accomplices, those who will see the immediate wrong in a situation and address it. Bystander intervention is a method that should be employed these days.
Oya's Girl Hi, thank you for raising this. I have to explain. Schiffer did not randomly send me this deck. I chose it along with others from their catalogue, I believe around 8-10 in total. It’s a beautiful deck and I wanted to learn more about the culture of the Moors people. For me, and I can’t speak for anyone else, nor would I, POC are not trendy. I’ve known no difference, being raised with my cousins (from toddler age), who are half Nigerian, they are my family. I do understand, or at least try to understand, why more general it is that way though. I hope with all my heart this isn’t a trend and we experience a real change. ❤️

Beautiful deck. I bought two copies and trimmed one. I like the trimmed version better.
K.T. Hesterley oooh I wish I could see the trimmed one 😍
The Hermit’s Cave I’ll try to remember to post some pictures this weekend.
I shared some pictures of the trimmed Moor Tarot deck on your Facebook page since I couldn’t add them here. Blessings.

anytime i see your lightbulb intro, i feel like i’m being sucked into another universe 😂.

Oh my, you make every deck you review enticing. Love your vids.
dragonofthedawn40 Thank you 🙏🏼
I didn’t know that was what you did for a living! It’s so fitting!!
You’re very kind and inclusive in your videos I’m sure it’s doubled in real life 🙏🏻🌈
It’s a part of what I do.... thank you 🙏🏼
I bought this deck long ago but never used it. You have made me want to read it and learn more.
A most intriguing deck. It goes on my long term wish list for the sheer diversity and originality of it. Thanks Simon.
It’s sure adds something special to my collection 🙏🏼♥️

You are so welcome! 🤗

I showed this deck during Kwanzaa 2019.
Oya's Girl I must of missed yours. I’ll check it out.
Oya's Girl Could you post a link, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the deck?

I don’t usually like borders and would prefer these without, but I see why they’ve done it to fit the style
I was curious about this one, thanks for sharing!
Instagamrr - It's all Pun and Games! You’re welcome!

Thank you lovely. The artwork really moves me, very evocative images. Thanks for watching Elaine 🙏🏼❤️
Lovely art. I can't get around those ugly borders though! What were they thinking!
I love this gorgeous deck, already on my wish list. 😊 Thank you for your review. What music you put on the back?!? Awesome!!!
The music is fitting
I remember seeing this deck in Watkins and wondering what the cards would be like. I really liked The Lovers and The Moon but not over keen on the borders. Really excellent review Simon 😍❤️
The Whispering Well Thank you. I live the Death card too
Do they feel like the shadowland deck? Cause I like to shuffle when I'm chilling and Shadowland's hurts after a while! I think its the gilding. 🤷🏾♀️
A little I guess 🤔

Yes, I mention it at 7.47 and then you get a quick flash of it at 13.11 if you want to pause it 🙏🏼♥️
Yes!!! Love ❤️ this deck. Most unusual. Hmmm....you have musical fingers. Have you ever played the piano?
Musical fingers? Nope, not me 😝
Swords are Autumn!!! Tsk tsk. Lol
Enjoyed seeing your video, the artwork is lovely but I dont think they are for me x
It’s not going to be for everyone 🙏🏼❤️
Those borders. Why? I think this would be much nicer without them. Also Death takes me straight back to the 80s and skelator. 😄
I like it but I won’t be buying this because I’m running out of space 😂
You need a trip to Ikea!
Honey, I ran out of space a long time ago.😉
The Hermit’s Cave I need to buy a bigger place 🤪
Right now I’m only buying indie decks I really want and decks I absolutely can’t pass on

Hmm.. really dislike the borders.

Schiffer gladly took my money for this deck. Message received loud and clear.
