This also kinda calls back to episode three when the oldest son kept trying to kill himself because his parents had such high praise and expectations of him in his studies. They also did a really good job about this real issue by just mentioning it and not forcing methods for change; they wanted to make people more away than try force a change, so people would want change
In the 80's I would ride my bike across a large city to visit my grandparents, go to McDonald's, go see a movie or go to the mall on my own. Occasionally I would bring my younger sister.
This episode it's like put on the table a problem in Korea. The education is soooo important for them but they are forgetting the most importa things, let kids be kids.

This is a big issue in Korea where the pressure to study and get into a university starts at a very young age. It leads to mental health issues that causes the largest suicides in the world. There are lot of talks about reforms but it's really hard to change the culture and system. I think this episode is based on a true incident where someone tried to take things into his own hands and tried to do something for the kids.
His intentions were good, but his methods weren’t the best. He did give them an opportunity to leave
