Probably because Japan has the 2nd biggest music market (1st being the USA) and it doesn't really feel the need to go global as much as K-Pop does. Also, many J-Pop artists aren't all-rounders who are good at singing, dancing, and rapping. They usually tend to focus on one field like American artists.

@kotone2994 1) As an American, I'd say the biggest difference is the styles of music and concepts that are popular and used often in Japan, as well as the messages. I notice rhythm and blues, jazz, pop-rock, and pop being very popular in Japanese music as well as happier or more heartfelt tones. The concepts also seem to lean towards cuter, cooler, or serious. As for America, trap, house, pop, and reggaeton seem to reign supreme with more sensual or fun concepts and lyrics surrounding love, heartbreak, and friendships. There's also the Jpop industry with girl bands and boybands being trained and produced, a concept like that doesn't exist in America!
2) I have not attended a concert before, sorry! But concerts seem to be very similar in Japan and in America. The most I have visited was an orchestral concert. It was still very exciting and I loved it!
3) If I could go to a concert in the future, I would love to go see Fujii Kaze, TXT, Kenshi Yonezu, Twice, Jo1, or Be:First!

Hello Kotone! I’m an American and I would love to help you collect the data you need!
1. I think in America, we tend to resonate a lot with what simply sounds good to us- music we can easily dance to. Reggaeton, hip-hop, r&b, or something with hard bass or a consistent catchy beat are all popular right now. EDM has also found some success here. I’ve noticed that Japanese music, while also sounding good, places emphasis on lyrics and sending a deeper message.
2. I’ve both went to a BTS concert and a Nicki Minaj concert. They were very both impactful to me but in different ways. I felt a sense of community with both concerts. I think back to the BTS concert and reflect on the relationship between BTS and their fans, the deeper meaning behind the songs played or their performances. Nicki Minaj’s concert was simply fun, I danced and sang without thinking too much and I still had a nice experience.
3. I would love to see more Japanese and Korean artists in concert! I’ve been getting into both J-Pop and K-Pop lately. Fujii Kaze, LE SSERAFIM, &TEAM, and TXT are all artists I’d like to see.
