This + Kamaal the Abstract, Commons Electric Circus, Andre’s The Love Below were way ahead of the curve in 2002-2004. People still haven’t caught up to these masterpieces.
I'm going to be honest. I took me a long time to get used to Q-Tip post ATCQ and post Phife. Was not a fan of The Love Movement and hated Amplfied- just couldn't adjust to his new way of rhyming in the post-Native Tongues "P-Diddy Bling Era". But since the passing of Phife (Rest in Power) and We Got It From Here... I've revisited his discography and found new appreciation for the direction he took in the 2000s.
Organic. When I played a part at a two-day event with big names at the Sanfransco Golden gate park and polo field on a light foggy nag champa good weed from Mendocino in the air it was the best feeling beyond you could think . It's one of those times you realize no one is bigger then another better . I wanna say Peace to Kamal "Qtip, Ali shaheed Muhammad jorobi shakazulu and Rest in peace power. Phif.
The track "passes you by" was that from the 'Open' album sessions? Or was it a track shelved from 'The Renaissance' ? And thank you so much. Best i can see the track leaked in 2006
Johnny Dead, Official, Where Do You Go?(Shaka), and I Believe, was remade for the Renaissance album. I heard the remake for Request before but i don't remember what it was on.
Top tracks: Hard Say Something For Me Interlude Not Gonna Have It New 4 U (into) Good Thang Tambourine Love I Believe Request Honorable mentions: Brave, Black Boy, Taggin and Bombin' It feels awful and secretive, yet so needed and soul filling listening to this unreleased album/project. I have been replaying it a ton recently, i had just found it maybe 2 weeks ago. I also learned that Q-Tip is currently working on albums to release in 2024. I cannot wait to hear what sounds he brings next. To those that haven't yet, please check out what I believe is his latest work, "The Force" LL Cool J prod. Q tip!
90% sure it's all Q Tip production. The band is Mark Colenberg on drums, Derrick Hodge on bass, Kurt Rosenwinkel on guitar & James Hurt on keys. Remix Mag ran a feature on the recording sessions in 2004 - you can still find it on The Wayback Machine

Yea he really risked it all for the art , many ppl didn't dig it sadly . Hopefully these 3 new albums hes cooking can make more waves in hip hop .
@@Donutsoverdosedany news on those? Easily my most anticipated albums right now, listening to them the second theyre out.
Q Tip is the most underrated artist in the hip hop space for sure, kamaal this and Renaissance back to back to back is a crazy artistic run

Fantastc album, Thanks! Is it possible to find a FLAC version somewhere?
This video is made with a FLAC rip but the issue is that the CD is unfortunately lossy mastered, which means it was burned with low quality MP3s.
hardddd

This album is called renaissance came out in 2008. Very dope album.
No, this is the 2004 unreleased album "Open" and three tracks from it made it onto Renaissance, one with a completely different beat too.
@@Padybusuper cool. Wow never heard this!!
@@Padybuand the verses are different on the first track I believe. Sick
I didn't like all the tracks, but there are some interesting things, in general the album sounds more boring than I would like.
Dude what?
