I like how they start getting mixed up in languages e.g. "zettai fucked up" or even something that's still a japanese word but she pronounces it halfway between english and japanese pronunciation "internet slangu da yo--".
I loved the way Reina and Joey presented their personalities and humor on Japanese word play. My first time watching your video but I can honestly say I enjoyed your gestures and combinations of english and Japanese speech. Keep up with the great content girl :)
I love how Joey keeps pointing out the plain young ppl slang. It feels like he's subtly throwing out the age difference between him and Reina. Though I think it's interesting, what might have been internet nerd slang for Reina's age group is just normal slang for Joey's.
@@ImKrissie You can study a language to be bilingual! It's harder when you're an adult but it's definitely worth it. :D I'm not the person who replied earlier, but I'm Japanese American. I think in English but when I'm upset or nervous sometimes my thoughts switch to Japanese hahahaha
wish i took learning a language at a younger age more seriously, i was dumb xD thats so cool!! my mum has that too, shes filipino and speaks english to me but thinks in tagalog 😂
Where i come from, that's pretty normal, being bilingual i mean. there's hardly anyone around who isn't at least bilingual. i know 6 languages myself (4 languages & 2 dialects of 1 of those, if you wanna be really picky), & well, it sounds like boasting, but i do find myself cool from time to time being able to switch from one language to another. also, it's never too late to learn. i'm still adding others to my collection, & i'm 32.
That's not quite Japanglish (or what would a lot call 'Engrish') actually. that's just simply a mix of use of both languages. Japanglish is wayyyy more fucked up.
The only I knew here were kusa and menbure. And the later one because of Amaki Sally from 22/7, she even made a whole video about it as her alter anime character
My wife and l totally love the both of you. Great fun and energy totally made our day. You both should collab more often. You should both do a anime convention together. The tongue twister one on Joey's channel was hilarious😄😅 keep up the great work
Woah, this lady is great! Her smile is contagious as hell and the way she talk and how she act really chill was really refreshing as well. You got yourself a new sub. Thanks Joe for recommending this channel.
The dynamic here is SO awesome, and Reina I've been "following" you since your early SourceFed days and I don't think I've ever really seen you "act" or behave in a prolonged "Japanese" way - it was so ridiculously kawaii! :3
These were so interesting especially as a Japanese learner lol I loved the language switch because I could follow along even without the subs. I hope we can expect more videos like this w Joey in the future since you both live in Japan now!!
I LOVE your guys videos together since you use so much Japanese and swap back and forth so fluidly! Though your white on rather light subs are kind of hard to read, they need black borders
Of all the japanese programs on youtube this was easily one of the first REAL full conversations ive seen happen, without explaining everything as it's said. This was excellent, have Joey around more for this kind of stuff :D
So interesting that a lot of the recent slang is incorporating sarcasm, which I've noticed is not super common in everyday conversational Japanese. Thanks, Reina! そして、やっぱり流石のジョーイー君。
This was so fun to watch, I learned so many things! Like that 2chan was a thing?! I stayed away from 4chan as an impressionable teen when it was big but to think there was a before/inspiration for it wow lol
Really happy about that collab :D I didn't know Reina, glad I discovered her thanks to Joey now. PS: Right the first Slang xD Damn. That's... great. Interesting to see that the Japanese internet is not all too different from the western internet culture. Also can you please be more KWSK about KWSK :D
Ok, this is awesome content. Slight request for future videos: Can we get a tiny outline on any captions/subtitles? Location and even Joey's shirt has a fair amount of white in it so it blends a little to well with the white text.
I actually guessed menbure correct because it sounded similar to korean slang 멘탈은 붕괴 (mentaleun bung-gwae) or 멘붕 (menbung) for short I think it basically means the same thing but its more like 'mind blown'
If there’s one thing I remember from the Stein’s Gate visual novel it’s the use of Pizza as a slang term, think it got added to the little term dictionary in the Vita version too once you came across it if you read the forum posts.
Japanese living in America here. I got all of them except the last one. Just like The Anime Man said they are pretty standard words young people use nowadays. Too much text (nihongo wa kyousei) ;)
Maybe not drop shadows... Probably put the text on some contrasting background, probably similar to how JOLLY put their subtitles...
