In June it will be 13 years ago that a dog showed up on my porch. I did the Facebook thing, put up lost dog posters, and asked around. Somehow, he's still here. Right now he's asleep at my feet. Best dog ever.
The best pets are the ones that adopt you. We've had two cats and two dogs adopt us as parents over the years. They are always the best ones.

We had a dog sleeping on our porch one morning three years ago. Our daughter named her Alice she fit right in with two other dogs. We live in the country someone must have abandoned her near our home worked out great for everyone involved.

Being abandoned was the best thing that could have happened to this doggie. There is no better place in the world for a dog than a farm ... lots of space, lots of friends.

I did the same thing the stoy msde me cry as well but she is now so blessed and loved unconditionally now. She's in a bettwr place and has a beautiful new family now
An older couple shouldn't have a border collie unless they love to spend time outside with them, really high-energy pets when they are ON.

Border Collies are one of the smartest breeds of all dogs, she probably felt unwanted in her old home and searched for a loving family. ❤ 🐾🐾
According to the story, the woman narrating says she put a picture of Bubbles in the local lost pet Facebook group and a woman reached out saying "Oh, that's Bubbles, my aunt and uncle's dog. They don't want her." So Bubbles definitely picked up on the unwanted feeling and while terrifying, I'm glad she took that matter into her own hands because the family she's with now are PERFECT for her.
My money is on good ole aunt and uncle wanted a dog, they got a border collie not knowing they are one of the highest energy dogs. Aunt and uncle drove her out to middle of nowhere and dropped her off. Like so many high energy breeds, they’re dropped off like that because the owners can’t handle the energy.
The farm is perfect for her, she gets all the exercise!

@@Hikari_Sakurai Yeah, you have to wonder why they kept the dog for 7 years...still, if they didn't want her anymore, they should have taken her to a shelter or tried to find other people to adopt her.

I could understand if they were old or sickly, and couldn't care for the dog anymore, but there's no excuse for abandoning a dog.

I think animals can sense where to go when they need help ... that's how I got one cat and one dog -- just randomly showing up. So glad you gave this sweet guy a furever home!!!

Exactly! We got our indoor cat Ezra and outdoor cat Sweetie Pie the same way! They just showed up 1 day and never left!
Yep. Opened my front door one morning and there was a dog lying on the doormat. I tried everything I could to find his family, no luck. I had Red for 8 years before arthritis finally got too bad for him. But somehow he knew my house was a safe home for him.

I've seen so many sad videos of dogs being abandoned but this was the first time I cried tears of amazement and joy at how well this kind woman accepted it into it's home. Her little girl playing with it without fear and husband also accepting it into their lives so easily..truly amazing. Definitely led by God.....to a loving family. God bless you always.

I really like the fact that these working breeds are taken to work daily so their minds are engaged and occupied and they have a sense of purpose and a routine. My current dog was given to me after his previous owner had him for a total of 36 hours after driving 2 1/2 hrs to pick him up. He is a Godsend! I don't think I can imagine not having a dog, I have never really thanked them for letting me have him.
Best cat we ever had hands down was a beautiful deaf stray. Orange tabby with white paws and white mane. Amazing mouser, loved the other kitties. Miss you Jack.

Edit: I've just realised how scarred I am by watching The Littlest Hobo as a child. I'd completely lose my mind 😭😭 when the credits rolled every week and he trotted off into the sunset to find someone else who needed help rather than staying with the people he'd found.
