- argh i couldn't think of a title so i'm being cringe now i guess. i'll say this in the comments too but just fyi, Kanao, Zenitsu, and Genya have done a 3 way swap in this.

i need to note, the swap in this is
Genya is Kanao
Kanao is Zenitsu
Zenitsu is Genya (the sibling issues just really work out for him with his and Kaigaku's dynamic yk)
also their personalities aren't 1 to 1. different life experiences would change their personalities but i'd personally find it boring in terms of writing to just make KNY 2.0 with no changes to dynamics or anything like that so,,, most of the swaps, especially personality wise, are not direct switches.
the hashira and uppermoons are also, as you can see with Sanemi's presence here, not directly swapped with each other. but i'll touch on that some other time (i'm still struggling w them tbh)
What about Inosuke?
@@YourItchi_Rizzikuni Inosuke is swapped with Aoi. Douma effectively made him quit demon slaying since he didn't want to lose him like he lost Kotoha.

yes, he is! he is also there, he's just not in this specific video. the earliest (public) videos on my channel show Inosuke in this AU, although some stuff has changed and i'm personally not very happy with those videos anymore.

I made an AU similar to this once on wattpad(which I took down cause no one was reading it) where the same thing happens but it is swap Zenitsu and ultimately the story ends with Douma being the father of 4(Gyoturo, Daki, Inosuke[who is little baby], and Zenitsu)
This is too sad, why did Sanemi have to die bro, Genya deserves better
quite honestly, i'm not too sure on the direction i'll be taking ships just yet. i've never been big on ZenNezu since in canon it just feels so one-sided and makes me pretty uncomfortable, but Nezuko does have a lot more agency in this than canon so maybe it'll grow on me. it'll probably just depend on how i end up feeling about the relationships as they develop through the story.
one relationship i do have planned out for certain though is that Douma and Kotoha are married!

I've always disliked Kotoha x Douma but if its in a universe where Douma can actually feel emotions and isn't a demon then its actually good in my opinion^^
Alright. What about Nezuko and Tanjiro? Will their lives (Before one of them becomes a Demon Slayer) be different? Like, will their personalities be different? Or maybe Tanjiro will be the demon instead of Nezuko?
@@darkestlariat2455 Tankana have always been one of my favourite canon pairings in any media, i find their relationship very sweet so there's a good chance they'll still get together here. i'm not so sure about any of the rest of the kids yet, unfortunately.
generally speaking, i feel the same way because i never really liked Douma, but i got way too attached to him in the process of making this au.
Nezuko and Tanjiro are swapped with each other! Tanjiro is the demon and Nezuko is a demon slayer. Their lives pre-canon are pretty much the same as of right now, along with their personalities. Tanjiro's role is pretty heavily rooted in him being the eldest son - he's got a duty, and he's the one who the breathing technique and family heirloom were passed on to, so it's pretty interesting to me to imagine how it'd effect Nezuko to have to be the one to take that on instead. i do want to allow her to still be able to figure out how to utilize sun breathing as well, though, since sun breathing is pretty much an implicit necessity to taking out the demon king, but i'm not sure if doing so would end up making her story too similar to Tanjiro's in canon.
Tankana is my #1 ship LOL, just have to wait for new videos to find out which ships you picked then huh.
Ooo, Nezuko and Tanjiro swaps are always interesting! Also, maybe you can make it so Tanjiro shows Nezuko what he learned from Tanjuro so she'll be able to practice on her own or something like that? Plus, only Tanjiro got the see Tanjuro perform the Hinokami Kagura so Nezuko has no way of knowing what it is on her own (But this isn't canon so you change it so she did see the dance).

@@yibowang8703 it’s my own take on a Swap AU and, since Uppermoons are SUPPOSED to be at least 100 years or older on account of how strong they are and how long it takes to garner that strength, I couldn’t agree with having Sanemi be an Uppermoon since Genya needs to fulfil a main cast role. My way of doing this was kind of clunky, and this is an old version of my take on this story, but either way Sanemi is not a demon in this - there aren’t enough Uppermoon slots to have a need for him to be one, either.
