I always love the way Amy reverts back to the child we met her as when she sees Laurie in Paris for the first time in a very long time. Shows that no matter what she’s always loved him and always will.

unpopular opinion: jo and laurie are soulmates and there was always something romantic between them. I was fuming when they didn't end up together and laurie rushed into a relationship with amy. I just felt they weren't right together and they didn't really connect with each other enough for it to be true love. Laurie and jo connected and their friendship evolved into love, something jo took to realise later than laurie, but he had already settled for amy without really any sense of him moving on
i feel like you are talking about the movie aspect. one thing i didnt like in the movie was that when laurie told jo that he was married to amy, she wasnt genuinely happy. in the books however, when laurie tells jo that, jo was the happiest. happier than everyone. also in the books, jo was never in love with laurie. when i read the first part and jo rejected laurie, i was pretty mad too. but in the second part of the book you realise, that jo was never in love with laurie the way he wanted her to be. amy helped him when he was lonely and was lowkey a jerk, helped him to realise that he isnt a kid anymore and needs to grow up and be a man. in my opinion the book made a great deal out of amy and laurie and no adaptation of little women could capture or explain it that well. this one was the closest , however they made it seem like jo was in love with laurie and it was too late when she realised it, when it was never the case. although, i thoroughly respect your opinion, as i was a jo and laurie shipper at first.
Anjul Sharma I haven’t read the book yet so that’s probably why my perspective is different. I’m normally not one to watch the movie before reading the book but I made an exception with this one, but this kinda proves that some movies don’t portray what happens in the book. Like you mentioned, jo wasn’t in love with Laurie and was happy for amy and him, yet the movie shows the opposite to that. So yeah, thank you for providing your insight, I’ll definitely read the book!

I read both books, their unabridged versions and took me atleast two weeks to complete each book but I have to say that even after reading about each and every interaction Laurie and Amy had I was left unconvinced. Even if Jo didn't love Laurie but it can't be denied that Laurie had a very intense love for Jo which was quite evident even inthe first book. The confession scene inthe book is so heart breaking, I had to stop reading for a while. I just find it very unconvincing that in a span of few months Laurie forgot about his years long feelings for Jo and fell for Amy. Poor Amy will forever feel like a rebound to me and overall it kinda made me dislike Laurie's character as well. Even if not with Jo, I would have preferred if he married some one else. No matter what anyone says marrying Amy was just plain creepy in my opinion
@@2cool2btrue41 I understand what you’re saying but Laurie could have not been as in love with jo as he used to be and her rejecting him could have lead to him having to move on with his life and look for someone who could love him back. He had a sort of childish and too intense love for Jo and he needed to grow up. And I’m this situation Amy was the one who could love him and helped him grow. I didn’t read the books but from what I’ve seen Laurie was always trying to impress Amy and he was trying to be a better person to prove to her that he was the better option and not Fred. So he might not love her to the same intensity as he loved Jo but this new relationship and the love he has for Amy is exactly what they both need. And as for Jo I feel like she was afraid of being alone and wasn’t used to Laurie loving someone else.

when i first started watching the movie, i was rooting for laurie and jo but by the end of the movie, i completely wanted laurie and amy. i feel like jo and laurie are too similar to date, more of siblings. amy and laurie are different but they balance each other out.

Aunt March chose Amy to go because she could tell that Jo was just helping her to get something out of it( the trip). Amy is the one that actually cared about aunt march. In this movie, when Jo finds out that she aunt march is going to Europe she says something along the lines of “ I knew I spent all those boring hours with her for a reason”. Amy is the one who actually cared about aunt march. You can see in the movie that it is her that chooses to lead Aunt March to her carriage after Meg’s wedding. Amy actually likes spending time with Aunt March unlike Jo. It’s easy to see why Aunt March would chose Amy.
I feel like none of them deserved him. Jo didn't love him, she just felt alone. Amy was a terrible person, she's always been jealous of Jo and did bad things to her.
