Calculate the numbers of bricks in a wall
Volume of wall = l×b×h
=20’×9”×10’
(Convert the unit in feet) 9/12=0.75
=20’×0.75’×10’
=〖150〗^3ft
Size of brick = l = 9”
b = 4.5”
(Thickness of brick) h= 3”
Volume of brick = l × b × h
=9”× 4.5” × 3”
(Convert the unit in feet) 9/12=0.75,4.5/12=0.37,3/12=0.25
=0.75’× 0.37’ × 0.25’
=〖0.069〗^3ft (without mortar)
Mortar increase 0.5” in a wall (every bricks)
Volume of brick with mortar = l =9.5”
b = 4.5”
h = 3.5”
(Convert the unit in feet) 9.5/12=0.79, 4.5/12=0.37,3.5/12=0.29
Volume of brick with mortar =〖 0.084〗^3ft (with mortar)
Number of bricks in wall = (volume of wall)/(volume of bricks (with mortar))
= 150/0.084
=1785.71
Number of bricks in wall = 1786 nos.
