Nice design and very attractive. Just a tip for you, it's best to not use the miter gauge in combination with the rip fence when making your cross cuts. It can cause the piece being cut to bind between the fence and the blade causing a kickback. I have learned this the hard way. Also, it can cause burning of the end grain. It's better to clamp a stop block onto the fence well ahead of the cut that allows the board to be free of the fence as it is pushed into the blade.

I think it’s fairer to say you showed us you doing it rather than showing us how you did it.

This was a great video, man. Hey, how do you like that WEN jointer?

Great for small stuff. You can get by on larger boards but really you don't want to joint anything longer than your jointer bed.
I sold the wen once I found a good used full size jointer.

Great work, what did you use to treat the wood?

Thanks. I'm surprised how much I ended up liking the lamp.
I used rubio monocoat because I was experimenting with that finish at the time. It has held up fine but really any finish would be ok.

I would like to build these lamps for my wife. Do you have the plans/dimensions available ? Thank you!!

      No I don't.
I think the video explains how to basically make them. I don't recommend some of the vertical cuts I make in the video without a jig though.
If you have a specific question ask.

I have the same saw. Were you able to get the wings parallel to the top?

No but I didnt really try to. They arent flat or solid. I concentrate on keeping my work down tight to the first few inches to the right of the blade. Thats the flattest part of the table and what I set the blade 90 to.
