sassuki You're incorrect. Athletes don't have to start/end at the same point according to WKF rules. I am a licensed WKF judge. 3-2 was a fair decision. Japan team's true strength is bunkai - not kata.
They lost because they made de original Shotokan Kanku Sho (about the stances), not the WKF Kanku Sho (theatrical). But they made second jump, that doesn't exist in original Shotokan Kanku Sho, (although Yahara used to do in his kata)... For me, they were very insecure and ended up mixing things (just see the Sugino bends before the "second jump", and the other don't).

Ana Moura There's 2 jumps in Shotokan Kanku Sho, what are you talking about- as I do Shotokan Karate.
