When I was little maybe about six or seven I want to put this movie on all the time and this part would be my favorite part of the movie. Steve Martin is just hilarious one of my favorite actors
Steve Martin, Dan Aykroyd, the late Phil Hartman, three famous comic actors in this movie from Saturday Night Live The warning song for Bilko's gang when Colonel Hall come with him Jeep: No particular place to go(Chuck Berry)
That tank is property of the United States Army, I need it back on the post by tonight. We have rules. Rules and regulations. (Strikes match on no smoking sign to light his cigarette) I have your rental agreement right here. And if you blow anything up it's coming out of your deposit! Teenagers. So irresponsible!
Okay, for all of you prior service people out there. What military bloopers can you spot in the movie. There are definitely several. To be clear, this is just for fun. It's not intended to be for negative reasons. In reality you should expect many bloopers in this type of movie. That's what makes it fun to see how many can be spotted. Some are obvious and others not obvious if you are not familiar with certain regulations. I will start off with 2. Bilko is wearing an EIB but he has not qualified Expert with the M16. This is easy to spot because the badge he is wearing that would include the M16 qualifican is a sharpshooter badge. Being a sharpshooter isn't bad, but the EIB (Expert Infantryman Badge) requires the soldier to have qualified Expert. The next military blooper is the unit ribbons. Bilko and the Colonel are wearing 4 ribbons over their right breast pocket. Since this is a fictional unit we can assume the unit was awarded them. So Bilko and the Colonel are correct. The other soldiers are not wearing 4 ribbons over their right pockets. By virtue of being assigned to that unit they should be wearing those ribbons as well, while assigned to the unit. Once they PCS to a different unit they would wear the ribbons of that unit. To be clear, these are the ribbons that have a gold frame around them. They are worn over the right breast pocket on the dress uniform. Those are my 2. Btw since one of mine is a bit technical, I will add that the new guy Wally, assigned is wearing his qualification badges in the wrong order. The Expert badge should be to the left of a sharpshooter badge or Marksman badge. There are some real obvious ones that still remain. Again as a reminder, I am doing this just for fun. I am in no way trying to slam the movie makers. As I mentioned, with a movie like this you expect to see some bloopers. That's what makes it fun for the prior service person to see if they can find any, or even those that haven't served may spot some.
For those bloopers, there is a good, and simple reason. Impersonation. those "errors" are made in every movie involving the military, and usually it's only one small detail, just enough to keep the filmmakers out of court. But you can expect to find at least one such blooper in any movie depicting American miliitary in uniform. Make a game of it, spot the blooper!
I don't really know because seen it personally and it is very accurate with these flimsy army we hace today .... If we were to go mano a mano with for example Japan they'd use our soldiers as punching bags. ..lmao all we have is weapons .
As a US Army staff sergeant mechanic, way back when this came out, I saw this movie at Ft. Drum. I was appalled, because then, THIS WAS ALL ENTIRELY POSSIBLE!!! Even sneaking off to Vegas from Ft. Irwin, farfetched, but doable, for a MASTER sergeant at Bilko's level.
What’s that!? That’s horse shit sir. Why is it there!? Keeps the flies off the food sir. Damn that line is so smooth and fast Bilko is all like yeah so what? You don’t use horseshit at your house?
As they say: "Before i joined the army, i slept well - i knew, i was protected. When i joined the army, i haven't slept much - i was protecting. Since i was demobbed, i can't sleep at all - i know, who exactly protects".
hi guys.. its brilliant. nothing perfect in the forces i suppose. however it coming up to rememberance, so to those who took part in ou armed forces or to anybody who has lost. my thoughts go out to you all. love from Zoe xx
What I actually hate about this movie. Its the single best visual representation of what Hospital staff do when a Joint Commission inspection rolls in. Everyone does what they should have been doing all along but the second after the inspection all the corners go back to being cut.
It's pathetic how unoriginal Hollywood is. Trying to revive the premise of an old popular television show with a modern movie adaptation. Of course it is not the first or only time this has happened. The original shows, though before my time, are far better written and have better actors, especially Phil Silvers.
A shit imitation of a real geniuses of comedy, Steve Martin was never as good as Phil Silvers as Bilko or Peter Sellers as Clouseau, his shit imitations were cringe worthy at best.
I had an NCO in the army who reminded me of sgt bilko
Who cares.
@@mattfake8634 bahahahahah
I miss the 90's
Do you miss the late 2000s as well?
1:34 “That means ‘go back to what you were doing.’” 😂😂 I love it

Mi poi iacerebbe vederlo in lingua italiana bellissimo film graz in e e un po' che non lo vedo 😀
Oh geez. I'm the supervisor at work and just realized that I am Bilko. lol! Fun stuff. haha!
Best darn salute ever!
Steve Martin cracks me up, him yelling to the soldiers when ackroyd walks in

Jesus, think you need to get out more
As I mentioned this was meant just for fun. But just for the record, I am not physically able to "Get out more". Thanks for the reminder.
It’s corps not corp

What a great movie. I remember when my parents were going through a rough divorce in the 90's my mom took me to go see this movie, was so much fun.
They're hard at work, polishing the vehicle, knocking a wrench against a rim, and kicking the tyre. 😂
Sgt Bilko: Anyone of these men will take a bullet for one another.
Sgt Hunt: Well not in the chest.
Bilko: Well of course not in the chest.
Such a fantastic scene.
The best documentary about the US military i have ever watched!

00:40 Few people know that Benny Fazio did a stint in the Army before he became a soldier with the Sopranos.
Steve Martin & Dan Ackroyd hamming it up ❗
What’s that!?

Well we haven't been protecting since maybe '45

He recently died =(
He did not. He is alive, you idiot.
He is still alive, his IMDB profile has him CURRENTLY married. www.imdb.com/name/nm0000188/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm Death does marriage apart.
Insult to the original Biko shocking acting
No, no. Only Phils Silver was Sgt. Bilko this just a bad boring lazy minded approach which Hollywood is great at.
Someone has to be joking! Absolutely no comparison to the Phi Silvers 'Bilko'
This crap should be destroyed.
Glad i didn't pay to see this trash!
Phil Silvers would cry.....
Pentagon USA und! RS 70!
