I started playing yugioh competitively when striker, orcust, salad and thunder Ds were the top decks (last summer) and eversince i got to hear about cool decks from the past like zoodiacs, ABC and what not and i really hoped that with MR5 some of these decks would at least see some experimentation, but with this one specifically, konami didnt allow that whatsoever and i dont like that at all :( great history video though as always, keep it up BladeYGO!

Like bruh, compared to the Tier 1 decks we have now and the tons of negates we have right now, I doubt that ABC can keep up with them (if ABC was at 3)
It had a very strong resource loop which could be consistently accessed and most decks during that time could not handle the loop without running out of resources quickly.
This is my personal Favourite Archetype, I love playing it and hope ABC-Dragon Buster either becomes unlimited again or atleast semi-limited I also hope they don't hit their support cards, because it's not necessary. I will admit the deck isn't that strong but it's fun to play and I love it's theme/aesthetic
So I know that these cards came out in a Kaiba themed deck but in my head I always associated them more with Chazz from GX not least of all because the three main deck monsters match the colors of Ojama trio and he once used the VWXYZ cards in the anime. I also tended to pair the Electromagnet monsters that came in the Yugi deck with Bastion for similar reasons.
I only realised today that abc doesn’t ONLY summon its materials. Granted you never will summon anything else but still This is a deck that was the wall to my initial entry to the game. I’m honestly kinda laughing my ass off every time I see it get hit, just a bit less than when I’m laughing at draco players when they get hit, but I do feel a little sorry for ABC players still
@@BitZMoment union hangar is a one card infinity + buster, thanks to photon orbital. The deck still has good combos and turn one boards, but now the follow up plays are pretty bad because of the buster limit
While the flexibility and speed of the deck is admirable, I mainly like the cards for their design. I loved the design of the XYZ cards and their ability to combine (power rangers may have been an influence), so seeing a new line of combining unions made me fall in love with them all over again. I even like the design of A-to-Z Dragon Buster Cannon, and I honestly think it would look even cooler if it was redesigned as battle armor. Has anyone else though of that, or am I just weird?
But detaching an xyz material is not treated as "from field to the graveyard". It was the same thing with Tour Guide+Sangan that konami had to correct people on. And tour+san predates ABC.
I enjoyed ABC because it was a budget-friendly option for locals. I bought three of the seto kaiba structure deck, added a couple of tech options and had a respectable deck for £30, which was nice
ABC-Dragon buster, Masked hero darklaw, Mirror jade the ice blade dragon, and Ultimate conductor Tyranno are hands down the 4 best boss monsters that came out of structure decks
Unrelated, but it never made sense to me that people were so afraid of ABC and Paleo going into MR5 like they weren’t at full power in the TCG the entire time they existed. Paleo had 3 toad, 3 grass for a long time in the TCG and was just another good tier 1 deck. Same with ABC. 3 of every piece, 3 Hangar, 3 Buster, 3 Terraforming the entirety of MR3. If anything, the decks (pre april 1 banlist) got WEAKER than they were in their prime.

You make it sound like the decision to limit Dragon-Buster was completely arbitrary, but weren't they running wild in OCG for about a month and doing some nasty FTK setups with all the new support?
Hey, just a quick tip here, don't have that transitional music so loud. Compared to your voice, it's absolutely BOOMING. I had to turn down my volume when it came up so that people wouldn't complain about the noise.
The only locals near me that had these in stock on release was only selling the structure decks as set of two for tenets dollars. Even worse, my friend and I had a regional that weekend. Needless to say we both ponied up the cash for the terrible yugi decks😭😭
I always wondered why ABC wasn't better during Link format. The Link summon kinda helped the deck to some degree. I remember many times sending all three pieces + something else for a Link-4 triggering all the A,B,C effects then when your done you summon Buster Dragon for free. I guess it just still couldn't complete, I love the deck but it's kind of a one note thing. Also, why isn't Union Carrier locked into machines or something???
Loving the videos Blade! Would maybe like you to add to them maybe some deck profiles of when the decks were at its peak vs current ones to see how much better or worse the strategies have gotten. Keep up the great work!
Also mr2020 would've boosted theme immensely. No need for arrows, get 3 on board for bodies and disruptions (are the disruptions a hard once per turn? )
They can have board with any 2 cards when Knightmare Mermaid still exist (they still can right now with Scrap) Ridiculous access to monster which has no cost like Galatea and That PK link monsters Ridiculous Xyz monster that can be summoned with a link material Also Orcust monster that is fucking splashable at any given deck (especially Harp Horror, make it needs to go) The field spell that grants quick effect to Orcusts And many more

In my new build of ABC, I stopped using gold/silver because it was 9/10 be negated. However, mothman is quite good.

abc is still broken. One card ABC buster w/ union hangar, or go into infinity + apo, apo + abc, or all three. The deck is good, just no representation
