As an American I can assure you that singing during a song like this as an audience member has never happened on Broadway. But my god can you imagine if it did. I got emotional the whole theatre was filled with 2000 voices. That's something that just doesn't happen. Ever. You can tell how touched and emotional Myra was. A true testament to the incredible fans.
As adaptações brasileiras de musicais deveriam sair um pouco do circuito São Paulo-Rio... meu sonho assistir à uma dessa peças, mas não tenho dinheiro pra voar pra SP só pra isso.
O problema eh de logistica mesmo, o Teatro Renault mesmo fica todo montado durante meses com a estrutura da peca, entao eh muito dificil de viajar com o show pra que ele faca uma pequena quantidade de apresentacoes. Eh muito triste mesmo, adoraria receber musicais em Recife, mas o maximo que poderiamos ter aqui seria algo adaptado.

Assisti o espetáculo no dia 17, mas o público cantando o trecho final de Defying Gravity no dia 18 foi sensacional. Elas ficaram muito emocionadas com isso. Eu fico arrepiada toda vez que assisto hahaha

I feel like something people don't get is that Wicked is not a long-running show in Brazil. This was *literally* the last session. It's been years and there haven't been "new" Elphabas and Glindas like Broadway gets every couple of years. There hasn't been a new production. It was a farewell for all involved

The audience singing was the biggest homage that could have been paid to the amazing cast of the Brazilian version of Wicked. The whole theater singing at the last Defying Gravity is something the cast won't ever forget and that's why the audience did it. The Elphaba actress already said she almost started bawling because of it.
Not a fan either, but it happened only once during the entire season (due the last performance), and during this song specifically. Although some fans were singing along, I could hear Elphaba with no problem at all inside the theater.

Depende do ponto de vista ... Wicked é o mais mágico da Broadway, sem dúvidas. E dificilmente será superado. Mas Les Mis ta vindo aí, e é o mais clássico da broadway. Rende umas boas lagrimas também, mesmo sem vôos ou muita luz.
Para mim não meu caro. Les Miserábles é o musical de maior tempo em cartaz no mundo, considerando sua abertura em West End. Além do filme ser uma das poucas adaptações musicais sucesso de crítica e que chegou a ganhar Oscars. Não tenho dúvida que isso é um indicador para considerá-lo um dos maiores clássicos. Quanto a Wicked ser mágico é bem relativo, de fato. Mas considerando que é o maior blockbuster da broadway e a maior bilheteria desses músicas de classificação livre e cheio de efeitos especiais. Considerá-lo o mais mágico está longe de estar errado. The applause for Morrible's Denouncement of Elphaba as THE WICKED WITCH..... WOW!!!! Also seen that happen twice..... It happened when the Broadway company reopened after COVID and recently last night for Donna McKechnie's first night as Morrible. Such a commanding bit even though its emotional.

The applause for Morrible's Denouncement of Elphaba as THE WICKED WITCH..... WOW!!!! Also seen that happen twice..... It happened when the Broadway company reopened after COVID and recently last night for Donna McKechnie's first night as Morrible. Such a commanding bit even though its emotional.
