When I visited Lagos, I was told to go to Victoria Island. It was just as nice as this video. Now, when I go to Nigeria, I always stay in Victoria Island. As a American it is a place where you will feel comfortable to live. Very clean and lots of nice houses.
Looking lovely🕋💖1!$ I lived at vi from 1982 to 1988 on Kasumu Ekemode Street🏘️🏠1!$ My Dad was Zimbabwe High Commissioner To Nigeria🇿🇼🇳🇬1!$ Me My Brother and Sister were always at bar beach⛱️🏖️1!$ Fond Memories🤲🙏1!$
Wow amazing. Actually lived in that same house. From 1994 to 1996. Kasumu Ekemode Street #1. Before My old man was transferred to Abuja. Really a small world. 😊
I grew up in Bonny Camp Barracks in the '80s, so seeing it at the beginning of this video made me feel nostalgic for the old days. Life was pretty good back then. I remember Bar Beach. As kids, we used to trek from Bonny Camp Barracks to play and ride horses. Watching from China. And yes, I subscribed.
Aww I love seeing these sort of comments I am glad I showed the the area. And it wasn't that close cuz you will start another journey to the water after getting to the sand. Lol. Thanks for joining this family 🙏
I was born in a high-rise building overlooking the bar beach late 80's . I always wondered back then why people come to the bar beach every weekend cos I didn't find bar beach interesting enough to warrant me to go there. I didn't know the reason was bcos the beach was infront of my house so I don't see the value. I always want to go to Eleko beach and lekki beach then😂😂😂. My primary and secondary was also in vi. I walked those streets as a child. I know every nooks and cranny of VI in its glory days. We later moved to lekki in the early 90's. It was an endless sea of green grass. You could stand as far as the 5th roundabout and see clearly vi without any obstruction.
Very nice video. Thanks for shooting and sharing. The place where you start the shoot, there is a building on left side with lot of flags flying on top. Just curious if it is carnival club. I remember a friend talking about it. Keep sharing!
I always watch all your videos and i have shared this particular one to 30 of my friends here... Victoria Island has really changed especially our Bar Beach area.. 13 years ago. Would visit there when i come back home this Christmas cos i want to see the Zenith Bank Christmas Lightings
Thank you so much I appreciate you thanks for the support 🙏🏽. yes VI keeps changing and the zenith bank lights…it’s always so beautiful I will record it by God’s grace when they light up.
But that’s how it should be, that’s how it ought to be! Regeneration, Rehabilitation and indeed the most needed, Gentrification , is just about the only way a city can grow and truly develop! I am waiting for some wealthy and influential Nigerians or top corporate to tackle Ajegunle! It is unfair ( as well as unhealthy) to allow slum locations to remain so for decades after decades! MajorrBison, abeg join me and pray for such to happen !
Wow I learnt something today, I didn't know that Eko Atlantic was an extension of Bar beach, nice videos Tolu, I like your smooth voice and video commentaries, I am hooked.
This our background music eh fire 🔥🔥😍😍. True that Eko Atlantic used to be the bar beach even up to 2010. I visited there last in 2010 after seeing a movie at silverbird, before leaving the country.
Hey thanks for showing us Nigeria esp the +ve side. First tome here and subscrbed . . . Nigeria is a great for real i like tge fact that it's the Local Nigerians who own most of these wow ths is good Love from Zimbabwe🇿🇼 Thanks for the details and by the way i like ur voice ts so smooth
It's doesn't look like a CBD or Financial District. It's more of a suburbs with lots of residential buildings, a few low rise hotels and few low rise commerical buildings.
THE ONLY PERSON THAT WILL SAY THIS A GHANAIAN, AS IF YOUR CAPITAL CITY IS BEAUTIFUL LIKE LAGOS, YOUR GHANA CAPITAL CITY IS TO COMPARE WITH ABA, LAGOS IS EVEN TOO BIG AND CLASSICAL FOR ACCRA.
Yes, speaking of CBD in it's truest sense I never find it in the whole state of Lagos and Abujah. Maybe in African standard for them it's a CBD but in world standard like Europe, America and Asia you are right, VI is just an ordinary sub-urb even if we try to compare it South Africa. How much more in CBD's in key cities of South East Asian countries only by then Nigerians will realize what really a true CBD looks like. Just type Bangkok Central Business District, Kuala Lumpur Central Business District, Jakarta Central Business District and Metro Manila Central Business District here on RUclips.
Thank you. Never wow. Ok I got you covered will show you around on this channel…so when you eventually visit Lagos if you plan to…it won’t be too strange.
Very good area's in Lagos ,,but it's all look like commercial and offices building,, nice road's,,hope they have 24 hour's stand by electricity none stop for all business around there..
I thought oriental hotel is the brown building by that chief yusufu junction not the white building...l lived in Victoria lsland in the nineties, Eko Court and it was mostly residential. Nice to see the development there but l would have preferred it remained purely residential,it has lost that community feel it once had.
Yes you are right oriental is closer to chief Yusuf on the other side it’s a mistake. Thanks You still have residential areas there will bring you oniru in one of my videos.
Confused lot comment's. Don't mind the comment. In which abroad are you talking about, that look more beautiful than VI, that's constructed with solid concrete, you want to compare that to America houses build with caboards of low quality. You're really confused
Oh God please send me a helper. I have been looking for job but all to no avail. I believe that I can get a better job offer in Victoria Island or any better place. I'm in need of help. In that city pedestrian are not considered; roads are only for car uses?
That's true you know I didnt notice...thats this vicinity though...I guess they don't want them walking around here.
Does that mean there is no more bar beach close to Oceanography naval school 🙁🙁
There is landmark, Oniru beach I guess 🤷🏼♀️
Illegal settlement on the Roads should be dealt with. They could do better....Parking should also be regulated and the Roads kept Clean.
I agree thanks for the comment

Why do they have to name it Victoria? There is no Africa name?
Not trying to be negative but through the years of living in the West makes VI looks average at best to me
