Another excellent and respectful video...just to clarify the crime: his mistress lived in same house with THEIR five children as well. Philpott got £50,000 a year in child benefit and demanded a bigger council house which had been refused. Mistress then left to escape abuse taking her five children with her. So Philpott livid at her disobedience, and loss of subsequent benefits. Fire occurred day before court hearing, so Philpott could blame HER for starting the fire, get children and benefits back, and be seen to be the hero of the hour for saving their lives, and most importantly HAVE to move to new bigger house...!!!

They made him out to be a scallywag who was a bit of a rogue...what they DIDN'T tell audience or public that he had been in prison for attempting to murder his ex-partner and her mother, because she had dumped him. If the true revelations of his violent character had been known, rather than the cheeky-chappie he put out, then the chances are this despicable crime would have never occurred...
I lived around the corner, from this cemetery, in Chaddesden. I visited the graves of the Philpott children, once...it's a very emotional feeling, seeing those kids, all together.

I hate the jail system. They arrest people who committed minor crimes for life, and they release murderers after serving a very short amount of their sentence
