    Eric very clear explanation of up and back with right shoulder and chest keeping left arm straight . I did my back swing with a mirror facing my right side I notice my shoulders are more flat and around. I do not have the shoulder tilt like you do. I quit playing golf for about 2 years and when I got back I noticed I lost a lot of distance and control. I did not realize until this video that I am not coiling like you. That more than likely explains my distance loss that I was using mostly arms and not tilt and torsion. Can't wait to see the difference. It feels like I am in a more powerful position at the top of my backswing now. Thank you so much.

      I would make sure you have enough body turn and extension first things first or else trying to stretch the arms out when the body has no turn or extension is tough!

    Keeping the left arm as straight as possible I think forces me to loosen my grip on the club, or need to keep the grip light. The only way I’ll become comfortable with a lighter grip on the club is to practice, practice, practice.

      The other day I had on the back nine, 5 one putt greens. The day before I meditated on being on the green and contemplating the putt. Meditation creates the peace of mind necessary to establish the touch with the putter. The excitement of tee to green is overwhelming. So meditation constantly before the round is necessary.

    Eric, how would you say the backswing and downswing extensions differ. Casey

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 месяца назад

      Not a ton! Lots of the same...
      Feeling of chest slightly up and trail shoulder up and back in backswing
      Feeling of chest slightly up and lead shoulder up and back in follow through
      Main different is your body will have shifted much more forward toward target in downswing
      I go through a drill to combo those here:
      ruclips.net/video/9zpEft_u7dE/видео.html&pp=ygUqRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIEdvbGYgdGhpcyBtb3ZlIGNoYW5nZWRteSBsaWZl

    I feel I have to allow my head to slightly turn with the backswing. Keeping both eyes on the ball could help with depth perception. While also keeping the elbows together and using the trail arm to help keep the left arm as straight as possible.

      Some neck rotation totally good!

    • @frankcanzanella6753
      @frankcanzanella6753 3 дня назад

      Better to feel for the neck rotating the head. The probability of wobbling the head is significantly reduced.

    Thanks. By “head and shoulders up”, do you mean not leaning left or right, I.e., keeping head in circle?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  Месяц назад

      Yep....keeping head in the circle it started....to do that you need some left shoulder down, chest up (level to ground)

    Looks so easy, thing i can never understand is how not to be flat though even with solid width. The left arm looks like it goes up in the front on. Mine goes round 😢

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 месяца назад

      Hey!
      That should be easy to fix honestly.....with or without width too much depth can only be caused by one of a few things.
      Too much turn, hand path too in from lead arm too much across to trail arm/shoulder too much around.
      Send vids to www.cogornogolf.com this shouldn't be hard to diagnose and fix

  • @windyrun7979
    @windyrun7979 2 месяца назад +1

    My challenge with this is shifting weight left and rotating hips thru impact so left arm CAN stay straight on follow thru

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 месяца назад

      For sure need body rotation to have arms more toward straight.
      I would need to see your swing to say why thats happening....send vids to www.cogornogolf.com

  • @leonardblush2557
    @leonardblush2557 2 месяца назад +1

    I'm jealous of you guys who can get your left shoulders under the chin in the backswing. I"m a good 4" short of that. If I want to have my back to the target, my head has to go 45 degrees. I always wondered why my friends of equal or less overall athletic ability could use 9 iron while I needed 7 or even 6 iron. Finally figured out why after watching so many of the great videos on the tube.

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 месяца назад +1

      Hope this helps ya Leonard! One thing can do to help add more turn is to pull your trail foot back a bit, flare the foot out and get that trip hip around more......all of those can help get more "shoulder turn" from other areas
