@tobywhitney4798 thanks for watching. I have lots of videos on my channel that will walk you thru my process of doing the swap. Good luck on your project and remember when you get frustrated just know you can do this.
Haha second truck build. I'm still trying to get the first on built. Driving it one mile down the road and wrecking it don't count as a build in my book. Plus I would keep more off the donor car next time. Thanks for subscribing and watching.
Not to point out the obvious, but it sounds like the reason the cab got stuck and wedged onto the GM firewall is because your math was off. Adding 2" more on both sides of the bottom would put your final width at 65", not 64" like you said the bottom opening of cab width was.
I agree my math was wrong. I make mistakes. But hopeful not only I but others see my mistakes and learn from them. If it helps others not make the same mistakes its worth filming and showing
@@LittleBoyCustoms For sure. Sorry, I was not trying to be troll. I'm in the midst of doing an Explorer/F1 frame swap so I know the importance of getting the math right. Measuring, cutting, measuring again and cutting some more. It's tedious, and at times super frustrating, but it will all be worth it in the end... or so I keep telling myself. Good luck on the build, it looks awesome so far!
@@DJsMachineShed didn't take it as you trolling me. Would love to see the project you're working on. I'm working on starting to film again. Haven't made a video in 2 months. Hope to start the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Good luck on your project
@@LittleBoyCustoms I've been following anther guy here on RUclips (Nathan's Garage) that's done a Crown Vic/F100 swap and a Explorer/F250 swap. He's really good at filming and documenting what he's doing. But is seems (just like most of us), he's flying by the seats of his pants and doing most of the mods/fab work as he goes.
@@DJsMachineShed I watch him too. He is the reason I started my channel. I try to go into more detail of the build than he did of the first truck he did. The bug build he did is wild.
Thanks for making this video. I’m getting close to doing my first frame swap. Seeing how you did this makes me feel a little more comfortable.

Wishing we could have seen you scramble to put the fire out! Another good video btw!
Looking back at it, it was funny but at the time all I could think about was the car burning to the ground.
@@LittleBoyCustoms ahh! Woulda been great! That would mean more videos for us who follow the page 😂😂 JK
Hi do you think it will be the same for a 73?
I'm sure it is as the main body of the truck in not that much different.
@@LittleBoyCustoms thank you 👍
@@marcomatute846 Welcome!
The 2nd truck build is usually better
experience comes with fire so you should put everything on video that's comic gold

I’m doing a 1969 2008 Vic frame swap and leaving dash . While filling in between Vic dash and truck cab dash caught fire bad day .
I feel your pain. When I build the next truck I'll be taking the dash and wires out before cutting the car next time.
Neat project how was it removing the grand marquis body from the frame and keeping it all intact to run again
I never removed the body completely. I cut the parts of the body I didnt want off. The floor and firewall have not been removed.
@@LittleBoyCustoms ok cool I have a few marquis I was thinking about doing something like this with a truck body.
@@MaritimerMitch I have learned a few things from this one and would change a few cuts. What year truck are you looking to swap
@@LittleBoyCustoms honestly no plan in mind just food for thought as I have 4 grand marquis . I wonder what bodies fit on these
Good info for mine
Thanks for watching

Just leave that melted box burnt like that. It opens it up to fresh air. You don’t see it. Save your time trying to air to it anywhere else
Thanks for watching. I did leave the burnt box in there. Ac still blows cold air
