This was a special performance of "Enter Sandman," enhanced by a live string ensemble. The Warning's journey with this song is deeply personal. Back in 2014, when Dany was 14, Pau was 12, and Ale was just 9, they uploaded their straightforward cover to RUclips because the file was too big to email to their family. That video exploded, now with over 26 million views, and even caught the attention of Metallica's Kirk Hammett, who tweeted, "The drummer kicks maximum ass!" Fast forward to 2021, Metallica invited The Warning to create a new version of "Enter Sandman" with Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara for The Metallica Blacklist album, celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Black Album. Metallica gave them total creative freedom, with Lars Ulrich saying, "Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it." The Warning and Alessia worked on their haunting, cinematic arrangement over Zoom, completing it in just 10 days. COVID restrictions meant Alessia couldn’t join them in Mexico for the video, so she appears as a projection in the official release. They've since performed their version live several times. Alessia joined them once for a special event, but usually, her "whoa whoa" vocals play on the backing track. One standout performance was at Teatro Metropolitan in 2022, showcasing the song's intensity without the strings. This string-enhanced rendition, however, adds a new dimension, blending their rock energy with orchestral drama.
This is probably the coolest rendition of the song they've ever played. The strings (brought on because this was the 10th anniversary concert) really make it shine. "Heavy Metal" tends to be naturally symphonic, and it's fairly easy to add strings to an arrangement. Most metalheads are happy to listen to orchestral music, especially "heavier" symphonies (think Wagner, etc.) I, too, tended to listen to heavier rock as a youth -- and also classical symphonic music. They just go hand-in-hand when combined!! I always enjoy your encouraging messages as well... sometimes we all need some encouragement. Have a great day!!
Great reaction my friend. Yes, checking out the 2014 version, it's a must for The Warning journey, it is where it all started. Keep Rockin' my friend 🤘⚡🤘
2014: straight up cover of Enter Sandman. 2021: re-imagine music video of Enter Sandman for Metallica's Blacklist Album (The Black Album's 30th Anniversity) charity project. Alessia Cara (Canadian Pop Singer) & The Warning started their version where Metallica left theirs. In the lullaby. Metallica gave all artists permission to do what they want *EXCEPT THEY COULDN'T CHANGE THE LYRICS.* 2022: Enter Sandman Live at Teatro Metropolitan. The Warning kept Alessia Cara's high oooohhhh's (backing track) but removed her vocals & the pop to a more rock sound. 2023: Pepsi Center Enter Sandman. Slow down the tempo & added live strings. 2024: With the released of their 4th album *"Keep Me Fed"* [aka KMF - June 2024]. Enter Sandman has been dropped from their playlist.
Trying to help people is always a merit on its own. Ultimately it is not about someone's political background, belief, identity, income etcetera but the person behind it all. I'm not religious but surely hope that people who do good in their life get rewarded in the long run. Please do their 2014 cover as well, it's an important part of The Warning History!
Be sure you check out the 2014 version which is a straight up cover...but the girls ages 14, 12, and 9 will blow you away. Don't have to react to it...but I think you will enjoy how good they were then, and it gives even more amazement where they are now!
This barely sounds like the original. Metallica told The Warning to chop it up, rearrange it and add their own flair. There's much more to the story, but this is a master class of how to re-imagine a song (and make it better IMHO)
I did a speed check because I thought it was me. RUclips isn't buffering this video properly (zero movement on the buffer bar). I don't think it was him as I could back up a bit and it played fine through parts that skipped.
Especially since all of the videos directly from The Warning RUclips channel have the correct translations on the CC. Unless going to a different language like German there is not a need to use auto-translate.
I’m not a doctor but I’ll prescribe large doses of The Warning to brighten anyone’s outlook on life. 😄
🤣🤘
Worked for me!
I will give an unprofessional second opinion on that, you are absolutely correct!

As a reminder, Metallica themselves did an album with a symphony.
The Warning always deliver, the future of rock!

Love the non-judgmental message that you bring with these great response videos. Oh, and the Warning rock!

The Pepsi Center version was actually the same tempo as the Teatro Metropolitan and OMV versions. The string accompaniment just makes it seem slower.

Thanks K17....just a note, whole lot of skipping going on in the video (quite annoying) to my now favorite version of Enter Sandman. Cheers.

Well, the auto-generated subtitles are just super annoying, gibberish, and totally unnecessary
Yep...lyrics from some alien AI...pointless actually.
