Yea do not let life interfere with your goals. It amazes me that you both get so much done and still taking care of the wee little ones. Great job mom and dad!
A true craftsman can take the basic tools and produce quality work. And you two have wonderful craftsmanship. I’ve seen contractors that can’t build a small shed like this without ten thousand dollars in tools! Don’t even ask what it takes them to build a house!
The opening shots on this video are yet another superb example of your imaginative skill. To start with a closeup of the tow-bar, then with a few shots sum up the journey into town was very clever.
You two make me laugh. It shows that your family gets along well together. You home and kid each other and that makes me laugh. Keep these videos coming, I love them.
You guys are doing a great job. I admire your lifestyle. It is wholesome. Your kids are out there playing and working with you. That's great. It will pay off in the years to come. My little one just turned 30 this year and he's now taller and stronger than me. The time goes so fast.
I have got to say, I have watched many DIY building programs here on RUclips, and I have found yours the most enjoyable and learn by watching one yet. Your banter back and forth is so funny and your whole family seems so down to earth.....what wonderful neighbors you would be! Keep it up, can't wait till the inside of the house starts!
Fine job on that roof, and I love that you used the metal roofing there too. A lot of people would just have used something else, but that metal roofing installed properly like you 2 are doing is a "don't think about it for 50 yrs. or more" solution. You are right about not making it too fancy, and a construction guy friend mentioned that in the woods like that the peaks wouldn't bring much light anyways..although he did say you could always go back and remove a panel in the middle on each side, plumb cut the board, and use a couple of the polycarbonite sheets in its place..would let more light in from the top in that tree'd area, and still allow you to use that same ridge cap. He did on a shed on his property and said it is holding up well..even after a hail storm, so something to keep in mind for the future.
One thing about DYI is expecting too much from yourselves. You are building a system and each system within the overall system takes its on time and course. Take time to enjoy the journey and each other. There will always be something in everything you do that's not going to come out exactly as planned. It's construction: the art of close enough, especially when it comes to fabricating from scratch. We are our own worst critics. I think you both are doing a great job, not just with building things but with how you are taking on this whole huge effort in your lives. Frankly, I'm impressed and that's after over 40 years in construction (If structures could talk... I digress). The only people that need to like what you do is the both of you.
The old rule. If you know what your doing, it will take twice as long, but if you don't know, it will take four times as long. Keep up the great videos. I built my own house at about your age. Learned a lot. Wish RUclips was around back then like it is today.
It is really cool to see your A-Frame House in the background - when filming other projects. I hope that you get to move in soon. A lot more room for kiddos to run around in - and more space for Mama! That is one tiny RV - :)
Since you're not worried about natural light, you can use the extra space in the ceiling area for storage if you wanted to put a little more work into the inside of it.
Takes twice as long as we think and costs 3 times as much as we think lol! Good job you two!! When you put up your OSB, paint it with latex or acrylic immediately and it will last a long time. I built a shop with it 25 years ago and its still good though could use painting again now.
Smart move in cancelling the plastic . It is very expensive to buy . Besides you'll have hydro in the shed for lights . Wow . Just over a year and you have over 75K subs . You're starting to beat out many popular channels . Well done .
I vented in the ridge and my shed is underneath trees. I get more trash than one could imagine through that system,I eventually had to tear out and go through wall to vent. Fun to watch you guys missed the kiddos, I’m a papaw and kids are the best 🙂
First time on channel. Binge watched for two hours! Sub'd. Agree with so many comments about the kids, the dog, the love. On 3rd gut n remodel. with my with, not always roses. As they say, "keep your eye on the prize, not the price". You have a great channel going, looking fwd to more already. Thank you for putting in the effort to share your journey with us. We are the lucky ones.
Just one small window would have been a great addition. It can light a small room really well. I added one to my small shed, made a world of difference even with a light bulb inside. Really enjoy your videos!!!
Everything is looking Good! Nice decision making on the shed stuff. Save the money for the important things you will need. I really enjoy watching you two. Lots of fun and yet some very serious thinking going into your Systems. Keep it up and Have Fun! Weav
I have been a roofer for over 40 years some day down the road you could get what they call a solar tube and use deck tight boot flashing for metal roofing this will allow some natural light to come in
Good Job! I was worried when you were cutting the metal roofing that the Sparks would catch your beard on fire like tinder.... But then.... Nothing... The dang thing is invincible!!! Your wife is one lucky woman!! Lol.... All kidding aside you guys really do well together. I'm not married but if I were this would be what I would envision. I feel bad for so many married couples I see who do not have this chemistry and are struggling. Thanks for sharing! A+ 👏🏼👍 from 🇨🇦
Oh yeah Josh, "We Ain't Worried Bout That Shed Bein' All Fancy", but, the screws is all purdy in row and "Aesthetically Pleasing to the eye" LMAO!!! You're killing me here, I love you two.
Shirt shifters. 😳 orange 🍊 Erin is josh rubbing off on you. Thanks foot not having orange shirts on you both and standing in from of the orange door.. lol 😂 Great job you’ll 👍
Hi Josh, Erin, and family!! Great decision guys focus on the house. You could cut in a window at a future time?? I have been watching your channel since the beginning and I HAVE to say( and Josh I think you'll agree) that Erin....you have become such a versatile "tradesperson", farmer, and generally all around an experienced person for someone who was a little inexperienced in the beginning. Fantastic. Also, I've always wondered, given copyright laws, who does the music for your videos??? Love you all, God Bless !!
a small screen window frame in the peaks (too small for anything to crawl through) to get air and small bit of light) you guys are really banging along... good show! btw yer dog looks like that alien dog (Woola) from John Carter of Mars (not quite as frisky of course...)
Another great video, just a thought, you make a list of ALL the items you need for the shed, then go into town Once to get them!!, also as you were on Top of the shed Josh doing the screwing, why not get Erin to hand up sheets, screw in bottom half then you do top half, & when side complete screw in middle, save you getting Up & Down all the time, thanks for finding time to put out videos,!!
Thanks for watching and dor the suggestions Freddie C! They unfortunately messed up our order... All the materials were delivered to us and we had to drive back twice to correct what they sent us 😣
The barn Star originates from early German settlers, who painted the stars as Hex signs to ward of evil. Now they are just seen as a common decoration.
Where I come from the normal practice is to put the screw attatchments through the small ridges instead of on the flat parts of the roof pannelling. Whenusing the rubber seals on the screws I guess it doesn't matter much for a few years especially when it is on the shed.
When I built my shed I used the clear roofing panels that are shaped just like the metal roofing. I cut holes in different spots in the roof before installing them and during the day you didn't even need lights on.
Those wouldn’t carry the snow load in most places. They also tend to yellow and crack over time so I’m sure they are willing to spend a little more now and not have to worry about replacing them later on down the road. The metal roofing also ties into the house they built and look much nicer.
Sean Lynn I’ve had them installed on my shed for approx 7 years. No discoloration or cracking and we’ve had upwards of 3’ of snow on them with no issues. Their roof pitch is more extreme than ours so the chance of them getting snow buildup is not going to be an issue.
About goals.... When I was In the Army they asked you to do 3 times what is humanly possible. If you do 1/2 of that you have accomplished 1/6 more than is humanly possible. Set your goals high, but don't beat yourself up. I am so very much enjoying your adventure.
I don't quite understand why so many people screw the roof down in the open valley instead of along the rib; to make it a little easier I understand, seemingly a little stronger maybe, but the potential for leaks increases especially with the pressures of snow and ice on the screw heads, and then there is expansion contraction. (for the several I've installed I also found it easiest to predrill holes)
BINGO , I WAS WONDERING WHEN SOMEONE WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO DRILL ON THE HIGH POINTS . I LEARNED THIS FROM CREWS WHO do this for a living .( Just saying )
@@WildWonderfulOffGrid That's a good reason :) I wouldn't, but that's just the kind of person I am 😇 besides that if you get a leak it is easy to fix on the rib, and, ... much easier to reuse the metal roofing if it only has holes in the ribs.
When you emit the perfect frequency of what you want, the perfect people, circumstances, and events will be attracted to you and delivered!
You’ve been cautious up on the roof. So thankful that there haven’t been any mishaps. Please stay aware and alert! Love you guys.
Yea do not let life interfere with your goals. It amazes me that you both get so much done and still taking care of the wee little ones. Great job mom and dad!
My dog is 15 I can see you dog is gaining some age good to see you still take time to show some love

I'm hooked....proud of you guys....keep it up. Love the way you guys are glowing in love....and sense of humor.
You 2 are awesome! Fun to watch. The more I watch, the more inspired I am to convert 1/2 my pole barn into a home. Thanks for posting.
You kids are doing GREAT. Don't be so hard on yourselves, it's getting done! Keep smiling, you got this. 🛠🔨
Gotta appreciate all that hard work you two do...……...

It's a great shed no matter what. It will serve it's purpose greatly👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You can make plexiglass windows fast and cheap. Dang, Erin! Your shoulders are starting to get ripped!
The overhang that metal has over the fascia means for gutters you would need a culvert😁. Good job y'all
Hey, Erin finally got to use the tall ladder!
Another gr8 exerpt of your life.totally agree about the shed windows.ocb is more practical.
Oh yeah Josh, "We Ain't Worried Bout That Shed Bein' All Fancy", but, the screws is all purdy in row and "Aesthetically Pleasing to the eye" LMAO!!! You're killing me here, I love you two.
