Hi Kev, as you say it's down to personal preference and circumstances, yrs ago I use to get preached to about not covering or heating the small pond I had at the time that I was being cruel to my fish, turned out they didn't practice what they preached and not even melting a hole in the ice if it froze over, turned out they was replacing dead fish quite regularly and putting it down to part of the hobby, needless to say not been in contact for yrs now, stay safe.
    Rob.

Good video, thanks. I have observed the carp pox on my fish is directly related to temp. A matsuba i have is covered in it unless it we are above 20C. No heating here but tempted. Have an idea involving evacuated tubes which no one else seems to use.

Thanks for watching Mate and I look forward to seeing your ideaI had two or three smaller ones that used to get covered through the Winter and they looked awful until I kept it luke warm. The Ochiba still has a couple of patches that over two years is finally fading.

Hi mate have u not considered a feeding ring. Ithink it helps keep food together instead of it goin all over. Just a thought thats all.

Thanks for watching and Commenting. Yes I did consider it but I noticed that the Fish know when it is feeding time and congregate under the feeder and within 20 seconds of it dropping in, it is near enough all gone. It drops in on the Corner and by the time it has floated the length of two sides it is all gone. The Skimmer is on the third corner and very very rarely have I found any uneaten food in there.

Thanks for watching and Commenting. I've not really noticed how often it is cleaning which means it is probably ess than in Summer. I have some work to do in the Filter house so I will check on it

You don't heat it, simple. Cover on, done.
