Interesting, because to me the increased speed adds this level of intensity and velocity to the song that is unmatched by many bands; it makes me want to wreck shit and I love the sound. Just goes to show you even among people who like the same music how different some musical sensibilities can be :)
Yeah, Jeff Walker had to Cut a lot of syllables out. It kind of ruined the entire song. I loved this song when I was a kid. I saw them play it live a few times. I knew every word. This version sounds clunky and rushed. I wonder if the drummer started too fast by accident.
Wow, the audience is lackadaisical to some bad ass mastery of music. This was my go-to tape after work. What a great album. When you need a mosh pit this will get you there.
nothing against Jeff but without Bill's vocals, just seems like it's missing something you know, maybe now he's doing them again, this was back when they were just doing the reunion tour and not full "Carcass" as a band mode, Bill does these badass low gutteral vocals!
the new drummers (daniel erlandsson and daniel wilding) never play the old material right. ken owens playing had a lot more swing and they pretty much ignore that
Was really happy when they did a reunion tour, but a bit disappointed that Bill didn't do most of his original vocal work (except on Ruptured in Purulence).
I really don`t know if I`m asking too much but a video of the complete thing would be superb!!! Thank you for uploading this!!! It`s more than enough!!! In fact Carcass should release a live DVD.
True. It makes for an interesting mix though. Jeff's playing is solid throughout rather than many bassist's lacklustre performances. Just to hear the track performed with a different instrument focus makes this a must-hear version.
Is it just me or Jeff Walker looks like a more pissed off James LaBrie? I know that Dream Theater cannot hold a candle to Carcass, but does anyone see the comparisons? Sorry for that comment.. I should be "Die in Pain."
I saw a picture once in a magazine with all the members on the frontcover wearing corpsepaint! Looked really good on them. They should do something about their stage appearance, just like the Aussies of BELPHEGOR.More explicit gore?...
The studio version is way better IMHO, but the bass sounds really good here (the sound in Necroticism was generally too flat). Still, I miss the "dialogue" between Jeff and Bill, the sick detuned part near the end of the song and the overall coldness.
Got to have Carcass in your collection!!!!!! If not your missing out badly.I have the white T shirt, Reek Of Puterefaction cover on front and on the back saids (Nauseating Tour) and I take care of that T shirt like gold, jajajajaja.
The worst of these "play faster than life" drummers is that usually fuck up when it's required to play slower. Way to ruin the song thinking Carcass is Arch Enemy.
blindcynic The drummer starts the song. It's his job to set the pace, the rest of them had to play that fast to not fuck it up but it was totally on the drummer for this one being too fast.
Love that bass! Fernandes is so expensive that joker is a grand! The inlays of the tools of the trade you unfortunately won't get. That shit is custom.
@Imposerofficial That "bitch" with the epic red mane of rock is Michael Amott, the other guitarist for Carcass on the Necrotism and Heartwork albums. Also the guitarist for Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars.
To be honest I really liked the original track version with multiple vocalists (Well Jeff and Bill) but I feel that Jeffs ability to attempt both wasn't that bad.
man, jeff walker says he's weak as a bass player, but he's tight as fuck, and singing those lyrics at the same time
The fact he doesnt play lead bass doesnt mean hes weak
Bassists need to be solid at first before all
And hes surely solid as fuck
he calls himself a failed guitarist lol
British humor. He is essentially trolling himself.
Dunning kruger
CarBASS
ja ja ron damón
+Mauricio Hernández Díaz Good for learning bass line.
yeah holy hell, sounds good though
BAdaSS
very fucking bass mix !
I'm in love with his bass sound!
I prefer more like in Ruptured in Purulence
Or Childs play...
Of course you do, you can barely hear anything else.
One of the greatest songs ever created, by one of the greatest bands in history.
Well, thanks for keeping the camera on Amott during his solo...
Man I hated that part... my lil bro with myopia could've done a better camera job than this shit.
Thats what you get for being a ging i guess
No it was good
Lol
The bass is so heavy omg
Best band to come out of Liverpool, EVER
Only after Beatles*
@@ladinark1672 Fuck the Beatles Carcass Kicks Ass
@@BudgieFan101 why can't we love both lol
I concur... Carcass can play The Yellow Submarine but can The Beatles play This Mortal Coil...???
They are playing Liverpool June 2023
I love this song and they played great but seriously way too fast
Doug Munis sounds similar speed to the Bezerkers cover
YOU HEAT THAT CARCASS? FASTER!
I got ya covered: ruclips.net/video/mDBqe_yCKv8/видео.html
I like how he screams random words instead of following the lyrics :)
The lyris are omposed of random words already XD
Bill Steer has one of the strangest, but truly awesome, guitar styles Ive ever heard, and Im a huge Ammot fan.
i saw carcass live two weeks ago. it was sooooo good. met bill steer before the show too, such a down to earth guy
That bass is sexy as hell!
I fucking love the sound of his bass....plus all the tools of the trade for fret markers is too bad ass
That bass sounds awesome. Glad they had a good sound technician who remembered to mix it into the speakers.
Ah man, way too fast for this song... (my favorite Carcass song)
I agree 100%, gives the song a diff vibe
@@timsoechtig4139 So true, happens so often with many live takes of all bands...
It just doesn't groove in the same way when play it at around 160 bpm when compared to the studio version (which is played at around 142-145 bpm).
Weird why they do it. It's extremely obvious and sounds terrible.
For a moment i thought James LaBrie was in Carcass
Ещё когда учился в школе сводил с ума этой шикарной компазицией одноклассников и учителей,а сейчас соседей
Ahí es ,mm desde Nicaragua amo a esa banda
Охеренная вещь!
Love this song.
But it's played too fast, it's lost the power and groove of the album track, feels rushed.
Interesting, because to me the increased speed adds this level of intensity and velocity to the song that is unmatched by many bands; it makes me want to wreck shit and I love the sound. Just goes to show you even among people who like the same music how different some musical sensibilities can be :)

They intentionally played fast to fit their whole set
Agree
I like the faster part it sounds better
Wow, the audience is lackadaisical to some bad ass mastery of music. This was my go-to tape after work. What a great album. When you need a mosh pit this will get you there.
The sound of this track is so thick and heavy with that distinctive bass nice and loud in the mix. Great stuff!
Ultimate Bass Sound!
Bass killer sound! Great song.
Those fucking guttural voices. Hell yeah
nothing against Jeff but without Bill's vocals, just seems like it's missing something you know, maybe now he's doing them again, this was back when they were just doing the reunion tour and not full "Carcass" as a band mode, Bill does these badass low gutteral vocals!
THAT bass !
This takes me back to being 15 again! I played the hell outta this damn CD!!!
the new drummers (daniel erlandsson and daniel wilding) never play the old material right. ken owens playing had a lot more swing and they pretty much ignore that
jeffs voice sounds great on this though, maybe better than on the records
Was really happy when they did a reunion tour, but a bit disappointed that Bill didn't do most of his original vocal work (except on Ruptured in Purulence).
Esta banda sempre foi perfeita, eternamente ouviremos CARCASS no Brasil...
Coelho
I`m listening to Carcass about 20 years and never get enough. Hail from Macedonia!!
Electrics arent high enough, great song though! :)
não canso de dizer carcass e a melhor banda do mundo na minha opnião
concordo
Ahí es
I really don`t know if I`m asking too much but a video of the complete thing would be superb!!! Thank you for uploading this!!! It`s more than enough!!! In fact Carcass should release a live DVD.
Just saw Carcass in concert tonight trust me when I say they still put one a hell of a show!
True. It makes for an interesting mix though. Jeff's playing is solid throughout rather than many bassist's lacklustre performances. Just to hear the track performed with a different instrument focus makes this a must-hear version.
Mr Walker usually drinks in the ba I frequenty nice fella he is.
CountVarg in the ba.
The bar *
When did James Labrie join Carcass :P
Jerry cantrell is that you?
GREAT! You were the BEST at SRF Norje Boke.
Old Carcass New Carcass... to me is just one great kick ass Carcass
this band is legit a machine
Is there a f'** n button to like more than once?!?!?!?!
im happy that i still keep wake up and smell the carcass+heartwork album!
Is it just me or Jeff Walker looks like a more pissed off James LaBrie? I know that Dream Theater cannot hold a candle to Carcass, but does anyone see the comparisons? Sorry for that comment.. I should be "Die in Pain."
Carcass - A lyrical, musical & historical masterpieces maker.Awaiting for the long awaited masterpiece (Surgical Steel)
one of the best from them
incarnated solvent abuse, another great hit
Awesome. That one cover you did that was like 30 seconds long was actually pretty good haha.
masterpiece album this one! still love it after all these years
I saw a picture once in a magazine with all the members on the frontcover wearing corpsepaint! Looked really good on them. They should do something about their stage appearance, just like the Aussies of BELPHEGOR.More explicit gore?...
I was there!!!
oh,cica:)/cat/Az jó kár hogy én nem veled:)
Nice
The studio version is way better IMHO, but the bass sounds really good here (the sound in Necroticism was generally too flat). Still, I miss the "dialogue" between Jeff and Bill, the sick detuned part near the end of the song and the overall coldness.
its insane how their hair have diversity.
Jeff Walker looks like trent reznor
Awesome bass sound ! Can't wait for new album !
Yes, that guy is Michael Ammot. And he and his brother are founders of Arch Enemy, after Michael left Carcass.
Amazing live version!
@Supernikomaru thanks.. i knew it wasnt Ken.. didnt think he was supposed to fully recover..
Phil Anselmo is a Great Drummer
Badass live performance. 🔥🔥🔥
Got to have Carcass in your collection!!!!!! If not your missing out badly.I have the white T shirt, Reek Of Puterefaction cover on front and on the back saids (Nauseating Tour) and I take care of that T shirt like gold, jajajajaja.
Amazing sound
and that's completely fine. Good luck with what you were trying to look up.
The bass on this recording is incredible! Definitely going to emulate that sound.
That fucking bass!!
BIG bass sound!
old school legends
Jeff Walker’s voice is absolutely brutal. He reminds me a lot of Lemmy from motorhead what a massive stage presence.🤘💀🤘💯
Dat intro! Pure metal power.
You beat me to it :-P
Carcass has always had a really cool bass sound.
This was only Amott's band before Arch Enemy. For the recent Carcass reunion, Erlandsson has filled in for Ken Owen.
please do, i'll be looking forward to seeing it.
great to see there still around
@MrMetalstorm666 Looking at the guitar and what brand the guitar is, yea it's Michael Amott, thats his signature model.
The worst of these "play faster than life" drummers is that usually fuck up when it's required to play slower. Way to ruin the song thinking Carcass is Arch Enemy.
+kireek666 it wasn't his choice. they are playing it just as fast with the new drummer...
blindcynic The drummer starts the song. It's his job to set the pace, the rest of them had to play that fast to not fuck it up but it was totally on the drummer for this one being too fast.
mlb0226 they decide and practice how they want to play before the show you know
Playing this song faster doesn't make it better.
Necroticism is one of the best album in metal music🤘
Sick tone sick lyrics amazing riffs and solos
That album is a (sick) piece of art 😎
Love it
❤
Одна з моїх найулюбленіших пісень в Каркас❤🤟🤟🤟
Love that bass! Fernandes is so expensive that joker is a grand! The inlays of the tools of the trade you unfortunately won't get. That shit is custom.
@Imposerofficial That "bitch" with the epic red mane of rock is Michael Amott, the other guitarist for Carcass on the Necrotism and Heartwork albums. Also the guitarist for Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars.
Didnt know much about them but damn they are so good. Swangon is a masterpiece.
Why didn't Bill do his backing growl part as he did in the original version?
Carcass is the best If they tour again I will definitely see them and I'm buying Jeff's bass when it comes out
where are guitars?
The best track🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
10000% AGREED 🧨
To be honest I really liked the original track version with multiple vocalists (Well Jeff and Bill) but I feel that Jeffs ability to attempt both wasn't that bad.
thanx a lot my friend!
Beyond excited, gonna see them in L.A. next month! \m/
you may not like the music, or even us for that matter but if you were to go to a concert, i'd give you a hug c:
Carcass doesn't compose music, they decompose it.
i've been a CARCASS fuckin fan since! thanks for this maaaaaannnnn!
Aun no puedo creer que los vaya a ver este año en el Hell and heaven!!
Why does Jeff do the vocals of Bill?
ruclips.net/video/RC0rDH1VbPw/видео.htmlsi=VuliK7ZuVc6MmIh6
he messed up in the lyrics, it's "sliced and diced" first then "cubed and diced" and he said it the other way around heeeheee Xddd
Love this song....bass so sicckk!!
great performance
Oh it's cool man haha, There's a lot I still gotta learn myself about the history of death metal, as in the actual people, not just the bands.
saw then in '92 gods of grind tour in Tilburg (holland) will never forget!!!!
yes!, the guitarrist and the drummer, Michael Amott and Daniel Erlandsson respectively lml,
Love how they're having fun, also Surgical Steel kicks major ass!
Hey Michael!! I can't hear your guitar... Nice!!!
Lovely...And of course there are other Carcass classics like this one :-)
