as mentioned before. I am not limiting the series to gen 1 Pokes only. I will do any Pokemon that gets the most votes except for maybe gen 7 because the metas are still growing (still on the fence of covering 7).
False Swipe Gaming I've seen chansey in every video where you talk about the badass pokemon we've recommended and/or asked to you. So, why not talk about chansey? If that doesn't make it then gyarados might come in handy.
Damn, this early videos were way too short. Less than 10 minutes for a Pokemon which has been OU for almost every generation since gen1. This only make us realize how good you’ve become
The real problem is every video starting with and before this has him try to sound as bored and tired as possible, making it even harder for me to listen to everything he's saying.
This one needs a remake. So much has happened to the meta with Alakazam since gen 6, such as the introduction of Expanding Force and such. How GREAT was Alakazam actually?
I think we should wait for what Gen 9 has to offer and how Alakazam and other pokemon will adapt, then it would indeed be the right moment to remake the oldest competitive histories.
@@tomatogenesis We did get a Heracross remake, not too long ago, so a hypothetical Alakazam one may drop sooner than expected. However, FSG has been focusing on low-tier and Little Cup Pokémon as of late, as well as videos on misc. topics, so it might take some time for it to drop.
"Also, since Focus Blast is now a thing, it can now it Dark and Steel type Pokemon, like Tyranitar and Heatran, for a significant amount of damage, as long as it doesn't miss" So, it can't hit Dark and Steel types for significant damage.
Seeing that 70% accuracy made me have painful flashbacks of thunder, hydro pump, and blizzard in my youth, to which I said "nope" and passed it up. I am much too salty a person to deign to rely on anything like that.
@Heysus Christo Just because you "never saw anyone using it" doesn't make it trash. Almost any pokemon can be good under the right circumstances. Tauros is no exception. I'd like to see you snicker when I set up in your face with a Swords Dance/Substitute/Protect Ninjask and then baton pass the speed and attack boosts to Tauros with a free sub and watch it wreck your entire team (assuming you don't have all ghosts, but even if you do, I can give Tauros moves that will hit those as well).
Always liked this evolutionary tree and usually ended up with Kadabra on my team. Only in the last generation or two of Pokemon that I got Alakazam by arranging to trade with another trainer that had a trade-evolution Pokemon that they wanted to evolve. The insane claim of 5000 IQ is just absolutely absurd and always bugged me. Putting aside the inconsistency of IQ testing as it is, if it really had something equivalent to 5000 IQ it would be so far above anything else that the rest of the world would hardly count as having consciousness compared to it. A very lonely existence, since for it, communicating with other beings like humans would be like a human trying to have an intelligent conversation with a mudane dog. It could revolutionize basically any scientific field and engineer whatever the heck it wanted in an afternoon, since learning anything a human would consider challenging would be child's play to it. Yeah, makes about as much sense as trainers capturing the god of all Pokemon.
There was a theory going around that the pokedex entries are created by the trainers themselves. Weather from previous generations or current as-the-DeX-gets-filled in. Idn. But it would make sense of all these wierd dex claims like alakazam having 5000 IQ if it was written by a 10 year old who thinks he has that much IQ
We can't even really know what 5000 IQ means since the questions we are able to make for I.Q tests are actually limited and not higher than 1000 (or any number I don't know).

Tbf, the bulk really stops it from being OP, so I don't get why Gamefreak shies away from that? It's like they never got over Psychics being OP in Gen 1 that they keep nerfing it up to this day. 3 weaknesses and only 2 super effective offense, really!?
Am I the only one kinda horrified at the very concept of psychic pokemon? Like, the pokedex makes it clear that Mega Alakazam is so intelligent that his physical form has atrophied....yet it still takes orders from weak-ass idiot humans.

The Pokeball may have some sort of regenerative property that keeps the Pokemon from fainting severly(?), especially since the dex entry for Minior says that putting it in a Pokeball can save it from.....dying, apparently. In replaying Gen 1, my favourite answer to that age old question: "How do you deal with Psychic Wars?" became putting Toxic on my Alakazam and waiting their Recover out while I buffed my defense and Recovered myself. This is PVE, of course, where switching out to turn it into regular poison is far less likely to occur than against an actual player.
I mean Alakazam can also just run either Seismic Toss, Thunderpunch and Ice Punch in Gen 1 for the Starmies, Slowbros, and Exeggutors running around. Zam vs Zam can get stally

Hey , i rly enjoy your anylisis. I dont play preoffessionaly but i find your channel wntertaining. Could you consider doing a series on moves? Like for example the use of substitute or light screen or whatever? Its pros and cons when players use it most or when they would trade it for a better move and etc?
This is one of the reasons why I want a remake of older ones. When it came out, it was fantastic! But, compared to modern content, it is a noticeable dip in quality (not to say this vid isn’t good tho!). Alakazam, someone that’s been top tier, deserves a hearty look at its usage.
as mentioned before. I am not limiting the series to gen 1 Pokes only. I will do any Pokemon that gets the most votes except for maybe gen 7 because the metas are still growing (still on the fence of covering 7).

x trainer Yeah, once they fixed the broken mechanics, Tauros lost his one and only crutch. As these videos show very well, Tauros was only relevant in gen 1, and because of crappy game design.
There's songs listed. Thank you sir, and great video!
I'm glad that FSG now goes over lower tier metas, I could tell in the gen 4 segment kellen wasnt really that at home talking about it that much even though alakazam was mostly irrelevant in that gens OU.
you should do Arcanine next :)
Porygon Line (porygon/porygon 2/porygon z)
Do Pidgeot or Nidoking or Slowbro
Scyther/Scizor seems like a fun one to do next.
Snorlax also needs a detailed analysis of its role in the Gen 2 meta
GYARADOS!!! PLEASE
"Buffed knock off to base 65 from 20 and added a 50% damage boost if the opponents item gets knocked off"
... how to break game balance...
When you do Arcanine, you should go over the Draft League format- Because there's so much that on Arcanine particularly that can be covered there.
