This piece seems to have become Brian's Stones swan song, being the last that he recorded with them. It's a fitting and poignant farewell, for both sides (Jones and Jagger/ Richards).

Not really. But I had a friend who was good and friendly person who did a lot of good things for others but he also had the worst temper on him and he got horribly angry over small things. Still miss him tho.

Glad I saw this post. I had no idea and concidered myself a Stones fan. The following copied from Wikipedia. Learn something new... Hopkins played with the Rolling Stones on all their studio albums from Their Satanic Majesties Request in 1967 through until Tattoo You in 1981, except for Some Girls (1978).
Was it a present, maybe.. but i dont think so. It was something very very special. Something that touches the Heart in a very special way. Over and over again… Brian, you would not be acceptable with the Stuff, but you would be proud of it. They made it to the Greatest Rock n Roll in the World!
He had a disease left untreated, and it killed him: alcohol and drug addiction. Grew up upper middle class. Coddled probably. Never learned how to treat women. Brilliant musician ruined by untreated addiction.
How do you know what he deserved? Charlie Watts - about as level-headed as they come: "Brian was two things. Not very nice. And he upset people very easily."
I've seen interviews where Mick says he wished they treated him better,,, that they didn't know back then about mental illness and addiction like they did later on in their lives,,, put a mirror to anyone in their 20s and they'll all have regrets,,, in saying that was always so sad seeing Anita Pallenberg in the studio after Keef stole her,,, poor Brian I think that's what broke him the most,,, as I said I'm sure he had regrets about the way he treated her and other women - he was only 27,,, we all have regrets I guess but keef ended up with her for a decade and had three kids so maybe they were the better match,,, if anything keef said he needed to leave Anita to get clean and she almost wàs a driving force behind his addiction,,, so had Brian stayed with her he may have had a hard life,,, still RiP Brian and Stu

We can say the last time that his idea or music composition was heavily put into the recording, he was still present till the recording of Country Honk but his part was not included his little part can be heard on Midnight Rambler and You got the silver, it's very sad but that's really it. He wanted to be out of his band and he did, Gone too soon.
Oftentimes the first take is the best, Brian Jones was still the leader of the band even though he was fading fast, when he was on he made the rest of the band play better, but being in the Stones was like swimming with sharks, and Brian got eaten alive.
