@@slobbjiminie5965 kinda but mahoraga's adaptation is kinda reactive and overtime in combat as once he got hit by an attack, he will start to analyze it and become immune but the more you hit it and not kill him would make his adaptation continue further and faster. Unlike doomsday he "have to die" before he becomes to immune to what kill him but mahoraga have active adaptation (example: bro pop off some gills the momment he got shove to the pool and drown) but at the cost of "you can kill him with a different method before he can adapt weakness". He adapts to all attacks and can nullify them after adapting. But he needs time to adapt. So to beat him you have to one shot him or even two shot him if the attack is complex. The harder an attack is to adapt the more chances you have to kill him in one hit. Just know that if the second hit doesn’t one shot him he will adapt faster.

-Megumi's "Ten Shadows" technique comes with ten untammed shikigamis. Whenever he wants to tame one, he has to summon it and then defeat it. He never tammed Mahoraga, so the moment he appeared he beat the shit out of him. After that, it would have indeed unsummoned itself, but because Megumi included Haruta in the summoning as a "shikigami beating partner" or something, Mahoraga was off to kill him as well, and after that he would have been gone. Yes, defeating a shikigami with help makes it weaker once Megumi summons it again, so he couldn't have gotten help from Gojo to tame it.
-Mahoraga's special hability as a shikigami is the capability to adapt to all phenomena. This normally works after being hit by an attack a lot of times in a row, and it activates once the wheel of it's head spins. The only thing that Sukuna was doing the entire time was using "Cleave" on him, so the moment of the spin, Mahoraga gained the ability to regenerate, see and block Sukuna's cleave (the shadowboxing), as Sukuna's cuts are invisible to the naked eye. However, he didn't adapt to the entire concept of "cutting", just Sukuna's "cleave", so the moment Sukuna opened his domain, he was hitted endlesly by both "cleave" and "dismantle", wich only left it able to regenerate till it's limit of the adaptation (apparently it has a limit of 3 times that the wheel can spin, don't really know why or how).
-Once done, because the shikigami was killed by a third party, Mahoraga didn't count as tammed, so Megumi couldn't use it. However, when Sukuna took control of his body using the legal voids of his pact with Yuji (that he could take his body for a minute whenever he said "extension" with the condition that he doesn't harm his friends, so he harmed himself to make a cursed finger and made Megumi eat it), Mahoraga was apparently tammed for Sukuna. It's not specified whether it was tammed because of the clash in Shibuya or if Sukuna tammed it off screen in the three months that Gojo said he would wait to fight Sukuna, but it was clear that Sukuna used it better than Megumi, because he learned to insert his shikigami habilities on himself, so once Mahoraga adapted to Gojo's infinity, Sukuna got it as well and made a cut "able to cut the entire universe" or something. "The world-cut", because as long as space existed, his infinity would be still cutted by that.
-On the same Shinjuku Showdown, Gojo killed Mahoraga and Agito (the thick fusion of all the other shikigamis combined), so Sukuna can't use it nor it's ability anymore, but he still has the world-cut thing, wich nobody can tank with domain amplification or anything like that but they can still dodge it apparently if they are fast and see it comming like Maki did later on, so either Gojo let himself get cut or he didn't saw it (weird thing because with the Six Sexy Eyes he should be able to see cursed energy more than anyone else, even better than Mahoraga).
Well then, that should cover all the doubts. That wasn't easy.
Edit: I forgot to mention the fire arrow. Because Mahoraga only got hit with cleave and phisical attacks, it only adapted to that, so the moment Sukuna pulled the hellflares the shikigami got smoked and there was no amount of regeneration that could save it, as it was to much occupied trying to survive the domain. Probably it would if it had adapted to flames it could have survived, but it didn't. That's why Megumi's other shikigamis have this variety of goofy ahhh attacks (the water elefant, the electric owl, the biting dogs, the gangsta bunnies, etc), so that Mahoraga can never fully adapt to something the moment of the tamming ritual. Is that or killing it on one blow, wich is the aproach that both Sukuna and Gojo took in their respective battles. Sukuna would have also killed it at the start of the fight if he used the domain first, but instead he wanted to play with his food. That's why at first it was moving more tank like, but once he adapted to Sukuna's fight style it was moving so devious.

And after even ONE adaptation, you're cooked. So you have to have a strong CT, a good understanding of Mahoraga, and RNG.
Btw Megumi actually had to fight and tame the curses he summons from his CT, Mahoraga is almost untameable cuz bro adapts to everything, hense why he uses it as a last resort and kinda a F u to huruta.

From what I heard about the summon of the 10 shadow, to command any of the shadow, the user must beat them first. And there was no 10 shadow user able to beat Mahoraga in the past. Until Sukuna come in
lol, those times when mahoraga was air punching is when mahoraga was blocking sukuna's attacks cuz mahoraga can actually see them.
Sukuna has conditions that need to be met in order for him to use the flame arrow (Furnace) so when u see him cutting and slashing everything in the domain as the sure hit effect of ones domain, hes creating ruble and dust for the flames full output and effect like preparing your food before u cook it, So to keep it simple hes using the dust for a bigger explosion and flaming shockwaves to burn and destroy any and everything in his Domain.

With Megumi's cursed technique, you have to fight the monster and defeat it before you can control it. You can summon it anytime but if there's other people nearby they become a part of the "fight" too and it only disappears when everyone else dies or it gets defeated. Thats why Sukuna helps Haruta because if he dies, Mahoraga disappears and Megumi dies too.

The way Mahoraga lost to Sukuna is simply because Sukuna outsmarted him. He forced Mahoraga to choose between adapting to his Domain Expansion or Fuga (Flame Arrow) he chose the Domain and because of that he got 1 shotted.
Mahoraga's ability is called Adapt. Any move that doesn't instantly kill him upon impact he will adapt to and subsequently that move will no longer be useful in the fight.

Now about mahoraga he probably got like the most op power in anime able to adapt anything that comes his way! Now here are the questions I might remember some or forget some but i will explain ot anyway....mahoraga has a ability called adapt that ppl already know that he can able to survive anything and heal an instant but the question is how can ya beat him? Well it might not be simple but there is a chance of killing him cuz firstly the reason why sukuna used his domain expansion cuz that was the only way of slowing mahoraga down from healing instantly and he tbh sukuna had to bait him from healing so he can has his chance to blow everything of his body so he wouldn't heal again...now the next question is why would he need him to try to beat gojo? Is because with sukuna alone he stand no chance beating gojo thanks to gojo infinity barrier so he has to use megumi to do the ten shadows cuz with the ten shadows. I think if idk if i got it right megumi is like part of the zenin clan so after summoning mahoraga using him could be a good use cuz i think he can able to bypass gojo infinite able to hit him easily while sukuna can has his chance of cutting him but lets all not forget gojo has a healing ability too called reverse cursed technique which he can also heal fast but not instantly like mahoraga but his healing is different
