Durham has been ruined by development. To add insult to injury, Durham leaders have been terrible at improving city schools, roads, parks with all of this new tax revenue. Why do all of the surrounding counties have better facilities? Makes no sense.
@ConstellationLady Both agenda items regarding Fayetteville Street were passed unanimously by Durham City Council. You can learn more about the project at www.durhamnc.gov/4405/Fayetteville-Street-Corridor.
@@CityofDurhamNC all I know is the couple have been getting up there for years asking for much needed improvement for quality of life for that area…. and it keeps getting shot down. The city of Durham should honestly be ashamed of themselves. Wow.
@@YaLittleFriend We understand and empathize with that the feeling. It's a long time waiting for this area. Apologies also, the link provided is regarding the Fayetteville Street transit corridor not the ARPA funding as discussed in the meeting. The point of contact for the ARPA funding of Fayetteville Street is Summer Alston, Special Project Manager, Office of Economic and Workforce Development. She can be reached at summer.alston@durhamnc.gov. You may want to review the May 9 Work Session where they discussed the 20. American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Project - Fayetteville Street Corridor Improvements and 21. @@CityofDurhamNC thank you for responding sincerely. I truly feel the community needs to be made aware of situations like this. Perhaps even ask why this area is constantly being ignored? I do live in the community so is there someone else that could take another look at this?? I’m very concerned for this area and the people living in it. There is no other area of Durham (that also has a hospital so close to such degeneration). Thanks again for the info. Please encourage your leaders to revisit this topic and advocate harder for this area it’s starting to look like perhaps Durham has deemed this area as a “throw away” area.
@@YaLittleFriend We appreciate you looking out for your neighborhood. We'll share these comments with Summer Alston but you may want to contact City Council directly with with your concerns. It might mean more coming from you the resident (versus social media). You can email the City Council at citycouncilonly@durhamnc.gov.
Just a shoutout to whoever it is that adds chapter markers to these meetings every week. It makes it so much easier to watch through them
Thank you so much for the detailed description with time markers!
They need to fix Lakewood and Roxboro St
