Wow! What a beautiful cover of a great Joni Mitchell song. I did not know she covered this song. Her voice is just like a angel. She sang that song so perfectly and beautifully. I miss her and her voice.
I have loved her version of this song for years. It's perfect. She was flawless. I used to burn candles and listen to this song on repeat...absolutely top five favorite songs of all time as far as I'm concerned..
I thought I'd heard the very best covers of this wonderful song. I was wrong. This, truly, cannot be matched. Natalie gives such a nuanced, tender caress to every note and syllable. Deeply moving 💜💙💜💙💖
First time hearing her version - very beautiful. I'd have to say this is my preferred version. The strings are hauntingly sweet as if you're floating on a peaceful blue ocean.
brilliant version RIP Natalie such a sad song in some ways. I just loss my best friend /brother in Sept to cancer it brings back memories of our 23year friendship the last 11 as brothers. .May he RIP as well.
Yes....im the eldest child; lost all my childhood family, except one and we were born 9 years apart; cause of covid, it gave me a year to know him. He is still here and glad i chose the opportunity to spend time with my brother. Thank you.
2019: repeat, repeat, repeat..... having a glass of wine. Dark lounge room, no hectic world pace, Friday night 11:37pm. Reclined and changing gears from over drive to neutral. Being transported away on this beautiful woman’s soulful voice. Magic!
I'm hearing this version for the first time...Waaowwww!!! each note effortlessly caressing as usual as only Natale Cole can do and great orchestration also...GEAT rendition...absolutely LOVVVVVVVVE it🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
A perfect marriage of one of my favourite songs, and one of my favourite singers. We have been utterly blessed with Ms Cole's voice. A beautiful rendition. Now, gone to meet the Ankh-cestors. Rest in paradise Natalie Cole.x
This recording is from the cd For Our Children Too!: To Benefit Pediatric AIDS Foundation 1996. I spoke with a lady who played in the orchestra. She said she didn’t know Natalie Cole was so versatile. Her rendition is mesmerizing. I loved seeing her since I was a young boy. She was blessed to have a huge come back years after being written off and literally having to start over. She really was a singer in her own right. Not just the Kings daughter.
wonderful arrangement, such a beautiful orchestral cushion for such a great vocal. The arranger is always the missing name.......and as a musician, these incredibly talented people (I have to say they are a musical world apart from any singer) are always the real talent.
Going to miss you Natalie :( but when I look up at the stars I will always remember you :) Ask God to pray for me ::) I bet you and your dad are having a great time. Love you Natalie....
I had the privilege to see Natalie in concert a few times. Always professional and in good voice. The orchestration is superb in this rendition and Natalie’s nuanced performance makes me sad that she has left us too early. I would direct those who love this song to the Josh Groban/Sara Bareilles version. Not as sweet as this one, but very good.
Nice voice, beautiful rendition, a great arrangement and a great orchestra. Nathalie rest in peace...You and your father have done brilliant things...UNFORGETTABLE I 've a few other names: Joni Mitchell(2000), Julio Bernardo Euson (1971),Judy Collins(1984), Mary Fahl (2013), Sara Bareilles(around 2006//2017..89th Academic Awards), Glen Cambell (1970),Harry Belafonte(1968 in an American TVspecial)
This was Natalie's song for the Pediatric Aids CD, I loved this but then I love everything Natalie, I've had the pleasure several times of meeting her, she was beautiful and down to earth, Natalie Merchant does a great Verizon of come take a ride on my"Starship"on that same CD.
After RUclips suggested a jazz piano version of this song, I traveled to the clip from the movie “Love Actually” with it’s clip to discovering a 70’s version of Joni Mitchell, to Natalie Cole, to the 2000, Joni Mitchell. Was profoundly touched by Natalie’s and deeply, deeply moved by Joni’s. Treat yourself to pairing these two versions. Both start the same. But, both take you to the same touching place.
Thanks so much from posting those lyrics. Heard Melanie B's version and loved it. Have a better appreciation for the words of this song now. I remember hearing parts of this song when I was a child: I thought the last line of the chorus was ... " I really don't know HOW at all." What a wonderful, captivating song!
Hope Joni heard and enjoyed Natalie’s version. It’s such a compliment and tribute when one singer approaches another singer’s song and does it justice. Then when the original artist approves it, it’s just wonderful. Natalie had a special gift of interpreting other great artists songs and making them her own. She made the songs sound totally different from the original version. She interpreted a lot of Aretha Franklin songs also and did them justice. She was just a gifted talented singer and messenger of music!!! A gift from God ❤

What's the other four?
So beautiful, so gut wrenching, so felt. Every time I listen, I am absolutely gutted, moreso since she died.
In total agreement. Natalie's version is flawless.
I thought I'd heard the very best covers of this wonderful song. I was wrong. This, truly, cannot be matched. Natalie gives such a nuanced, tender caress to every note and syllable. Deeply moving 💜💙💜💙💖
Sometimes it's good to cry. Thank you, Natalie.
What if you can't stop crying anymore
I am playing this at my Irish wedding on October 11, 2022.. We are having an Irish wedding... Erik Stephen & Sheri Beth...🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
First time hearing her version - very beautiful.
I'd have to say this is my preferred version. The strings are hauntingly sweet as if you're floating on a peaceful blue ocean.
Many times crying helps...definitely!
Thank you Natalie for leaving us such a legacy of artistry and talent

So many covers of this song. This is simply beautiful. RIP.
So solemn and pastoral is Natalie's delivery that I feel as though she is still here with us physically.
Sleep on, girl; take your well-deserved rest!
Her version of this song ~ STUNNING ♥️
Natalie's interpretation of the lyrics is truly unforgettable......
Beautiful opening oboe solo. Natalie does full justice to this classic song by Joni Mitchell. Just so tender and lovely.
Our sister passed in 2003, we were two of kind, soo alike yet very different; this song is from me to her. ❤️
That my bright dream will never come back again .
My youth was itself for this song .
From Tokyo in Japan .
A perfect marriage of one of my favourite songs, and one of my favourite singers. We have been utterly blessed with Ms Cole's voice. A beautiful rendition. Now, gone to meet the Ankh-cestors.
Rest in paradise Natalie Cole.x

I saw Natalie Cole at Tanglewood years ago amazing. I love the way she does this song.
I've listened to many versions and Natalie hits every note and emotion PERFECTLY.
Sing with your father, sweet baby angel!
Dammit, you made me tear up.
Wow, this is my first time hearing this version, gorgeous arrangement and vocals. Miss you dearly, along with Aretha Franklin.

my all time favorite female vocalist....still unforgettable..
Listen to Joni Mitchells' rendition.
The good things are good .
Her singing voice is like drops of effulgent Moon dripping down .
From chaotic Tokyo of the Land of Rising Sun .
Love this and miss her.
I still hear your beautiful voice sing in my heart Natalie. You are so very missed and loved still.
Echoes of the past...oh, this brings back my entire childhood in these 5 short minutes of listening to her voice.
