Mine never came with a guide either the reason why I like a guide is for when im ripping 6 inch rips off a sheet of 12mm mdf when I am doing wall panelling so you don't have to keep marking lines it takes longer to mark the line than cut the strip.
Great video that clears a few things up for me. I'm purchasing one of these this weekend thanks to your great video. We mostly do bathroom fitting work, and we are trying to reduce the amount of tools, and size of tools, we bring on with us. We usually lumber a large skil saw around but its overkill for 90% of our work in the bathroom. This tool will help out great. Cheers man!
Yes I use mine a lot. Bit odd it doesn't come with the guide but it does feel like a freehand tool. You might be interested in tile cutting version, same main unit but comes with a different blade and a water Despenser for cooling. Check out our Amazon link, it maybe on offer or if like me check out the ffx show this weekend
I think 3/4" ply is pushing it over any length, I think you run the risk of burning and running out of battery, but that being said I am cutting 25mm battens with it with ease and it's still going strong over three years. I'm still on the original blade
Cant believe it didn't come with a guide, perhaps it was meant to have they just forgot to put it in, these saws are really handy - good video as ever thank you
Oh thanks complement. I checked the manual, you will never believe it but it's actually an optional extra.... Yes I'm shocked as well. I never use them anyway
I suspect it could but how many cuts before replacing the blade I'm not sure. The blades are very thin. I would suggest the cordless bandsaw for this. I'll post a link

The screw always loosens in the opposite direction to the direction that the blade turns so it doesn't loosen itself

Hi Brian,I realize this video post is 3 years old.2 questions-is it still performing well and can you cut 3/4” plywood with it?

Where can I get the guide ???
I was hesitating to purchase it, now I'm convinced to do it. Thank you for your review. Cheers
Yes it's more handy than I expected. Good luck
can this be used to cut metal? thanks
Maybe with the right blade. This tool is available in a ceramic cutting version with a built in water tank
Does this have enough cutting depth to trim off the bottom of a door? If so a very useful and versitile machine 👍🏼
I'd be concerned the blade is too thin to cut straight on a standard door. I wouldn't say it's a finishing too Morena's a lightweight trimmer
Hi,
Any chance you could review the makita 10.8v
jv103dz jigsaw
Hi
Yes I want one of those. Makita, send me one please. They're not listening. Probably need more subs...
Do you think it could cut 1/2” EMT conduit with a metal blade ?
I suspect it could but how many cuts before replacing the blade I'm not sure. The blades are very thin. I would suggest the cordless bandsaw for this. I'll post a link

Yes would like to see a head to head with the wax saw
Ok well let's do it then. Couple of weeks time I would think
Has anyone sourced the guide for this saw
You can get them from one of the spate parts companies
