There are a dozen things id look at.Without taking it down to the frame which is what i tend to do.Look at electrical-Does it run only after you have it on a charger and you tinkering on it(killing the battery trying to start it)-If so when you do get it running take a voltage reading c if your over 13.7 or around to c if the charging system is working. The fact it runs and sounds like it should or stays running takes alot out of the equation. The other thing is ALWAYS fuel delivery.
Fuel Delivery-Check inline filter pinched lined make sure your relay is going off its something you will hear prior to the start up take off the tank and check out the filter .take the air filter off and run it to c or hear a difference.Gas quality im sure you put good gas in the tank but did ya dump it on top of his old gas while it was waiting to be sold to you if so (drain the tank)and ya your gonna have to go into those carbs and get those pilot jets cleaned up or at least drain the bowls.
Hi ! just got my first bike a 2001 Yamaha r6 . It needs some work done . New spark plugs , possibly a new fuel pump and some things here and there . I want to figure how to connect the fuel lines from the tank properly to see if it’ll at least start but I’m not sure how to do it properly . Would it be possible to make a quick video on how to do this ?
100% sure its electrical.Negative battery terminal or battery,Regulator or rectifier That being said if they are good which they probably are ya need to check two spots on the harness.Rectifier block connection to the main harness look for short burnt lead ect. There is another wire cant recall the colors that fucks shit up the same way that block comes directly off the ignition think its the same color on the rectifier. But ultimately if ya find the burnt leads or corrosion its the reason
I had a bike i drove daily with the same issue ya need to find it or it kills the battery and puts ya on the road solo.cut out all bad sections or blocks to the harness I hard wired. All stator wires direct ,All rectifier wires Direct all safety switches direct (kickstand, clutch, ect)( 9 out of ten times its the ac/dc Computer stator rectifier)do an ohm test on those parts alot of info on the forums To much to type here if the bike does charge during or after you find the issues.
hey i need help, i dont know much about bikes , ihow can i contact u, i will pay u for info i have a 2002 r6 custom made bike for a girl, i helped out a friend she was havein hard time, its a amazing bike, iguess it hydro locked,
