Thanks for the video! A couple weeks ago I decided to follow your advice and got a 12" Tsmura just like yours for my MS170. I cannot figure this thing out...I'm definitely burning the tip, its getting extremely hot and although I can visually see oil coming off the chain on to my carvings, I feel as though there is not enough oil getting into the bar groove. I've messed with tension like you suggested and it didn't make much of a difference. The one thing that I did notice is that when it gets too hot, I shut it off, remove the side plate to discover a large "pool" of oil all over the bar and around the mounting screws. II recently discovered a video on youtube from CarverKings and its a video about how to fix this issue with oil. Long story short he tapes off the port holes on the bar so that once the oil enters bar, it doesn't continue to spill out all over the inside of the cover plate....did you have to do anything "special" with this bar besides adjust the tension? Its killing me that I cannot figure this out

Dang I’m hating that for you, I would shut it off and see if your chain is catching somewhere in the bar. Roll the chain around the bar by hand even at different tension to see where it flows freely the best. I know every carving bar I have bought from three different manufacturers have had a tight spot in the groove usually around the tip. I use a flat head screwdriver to widen a tad and that fixes problem. If you see oil slinging off chain you should be good there.

Yeah it did not like me running real loose. It likes it hanging out of the guild bar a little. When I say look I’m talking like a inch gap in between.

Hi !!! Awesome channel and content , really enjoy it. Was wondering which carbing bar would be ideal for an echo 490cs , I'd appreciate your response:)

Hey, I would go to cannon bar.com I think 🤔 and they have a bar finder on their page. That will give you the mount you have for the 490. The bar mount is what you really need for trying to find bars. And if they don’t have that information you may have to call echo to find out.
