It’s a barrier of entry but unfortunately that’s the only way you could be promoted in today’s economy.
#4 - Bullshit!! That degree gets no respect because it is too general. You need to specialize in Finance, Marketing, etc to get anywhere with that. #1 also. Tech changes so fast that what you know is dated by the time you graduate.
Stop Being Poor: Spend less than you earn. Stop eating out & learn to cook healthy meals at home. Go to college or tech school and get that degree. Never co-sign on a loan. Avoid using credit cards and use cash instead. If you have kids, encourage your kids to invest in a good education. Save money & invest the difference. Always have an emergency fund so you can meet unexpected needs. Drink less soft drinks & drink more water. Get extra roommates to help with the bills. Watch less TV & read more books. Surround yourself with positive successful people. Buy used instead of paying full price for new. Get a library card & use it. Learn something new everyday. Pay off all debt as soon as possible. Invest 15% of income into IRA Roth's. Have one thousand in an emergency fund. Pay off home early. Focus on education rather than chasing short term riches. Invest early for your kids college funding. Learn about long term wealth & investing from your local library. Avoid lending money to friends & famiy. Become independent and learn to do things on your own. Be careful who you bring into your life. If you have a 401 K at work contribute the maximum. Avoid drugs and those who use them. Health is your most valuable asset. Have cheap hobbies. Focus on education while you are young instead of romantic relationships & marriage. Have three to six months savings for emergencies. Take good care of your teeth by brushing & flossing daily. Attend positive seminars & classes. Pay bills on time and keep trying to improve your credit score. Google cheap living & saving money to learn more.

Until these careers get over saturated, like Nursing, though, as a nurse myself, I have been seeing MANY nurses leave the filed after 3-5 years after getting their nursing license, as they get disillusioned and burned out.
@Ostentatious ASMR I find it easy because I actually enjoy the class. If you ask me about stupid general education classes (english, philosophy) I can't say the same. The point is, everything is "easy" if you are interested and dedicate your time to it. I hate dedicating my time to something irrelevant to my interests and majors so I would call that "hard" (even though there really is no such thing. I just don't enjoy it so I find it "hard" to give it the time and work necessary to excel in that particular class).

I would honestly say that the only degree on here that pretty much guarantees you to land an actual job right out of school would be nursing. Everything else is meh.... Nursing probably pays the most too. However, due to it's high demand and relatively low barrier to entry, you will see lots of people that shouldn't be in healthcare but are only there for the money. Keep that in mind.
2) communications 3) government/political science 5) economics 6) english language & literature 7) psychology are useless as well. Remove them. Please add civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Accounting, actuary, Information Systems and data science.
Economics is not usless dipsh*t, most econ majors go on to become financial analyst or accountants, im an econ major and i make 70k a years by working as an analyst
It's not on your list, but given quantum computing & AI not just on the horizon any more, I think I'd go for a physics degree. Not to mention physics (along w/ the mathematical understanding required) allows you to understand the mechanics of the Universe! Literally!
You forgot medical doctors. I was a business management major. I started many businesses being my own BOSS. Best major. Nothing happens until something is sold. Like gas to a car. Put all together Marketing , Sales and Customer service. Do these there you will guaranteed. End the end the degrees is a tool to begin with. The goal is to become independent of any boss. Your commitment and effort will reward you as much as you like. As you increase your earnings give some away to it will be returned 10 fold. I have done the many times. The challenge of starting a business will bring good results. Do not let anyone tell you it can't be done or now one will buy and you will fail. They are envious of what you are trying and will succeed. Be aware of so called "Friends" they are not your friends. Do not trust a woman they will discourage you and spend your hard-earned dollars. I have followed all of this and have not worked for someone in 55 years. Forgive my grammar trying to text in at midnight. Good luck
I don't have any degrees but I have a business and plant biology certificate from Coursera. The way I see it as long as you have something down on paper that can get you a job in multiple industries you're good. I'm currently in the cannabis industry and both of my certifications are helping me get through so far especially when applying for a higher position.
She forgot Education!!! There are lots and lots and lots of jobs in Education! It has my phone blowing up because of teacher shortages, teaching quitting the field during the middle of the year and kids not having a teacher, and thus we have to double class sizes! Sure, you'll have to deal with bad kids and the environment (more or less depending on the school). But, after learning the ropes, there are A LOT of jobs in Education and it is another field where one is likely to get a job with a degree!
Bro, I don't agree with this list at all. Only computer science make sense. All the medical once are way too expensive and the pay doesn't worth it. Communication degree I guess is ok but I don't know much about it.
An accountancy major once told me my English degree is useless. Who's laughing now when I'm a freelancer teaching on my own terms while he's stuck in a 9-5 job?

I wouldn’t choose a degree based on my budget. I do what I do based on how much I like it, I’m good at it and how many chances I have at getting a job I’m passionate about and can live off. Being a millionaire wouldn’t have make me reconsider my choice that’s such a weird question to ask
So Irony all this is.. At the start of the video they say 'Future Billionaires' and are making videos of ways to get a job! Can u name a billionaire who is at job rn?
I find it really cool, it's very diverse and I think I'm pretty good at it.. but I wouldn't recommend doing a psychology degree (speaking from experience).
Also here u can find a couple of PARADOXES: 1. Economic & Business studies - after economic studies u can mostly work in companies or banks or financial institutions as an analyst. However in many cases people after economics go and work at accounting-like job posts as there are many positions offered in the labor market. 2. Psychology - there are two ways - coaching/training companies (own biz.activity mostly) or to become a psychotherapist but it also needs additional course which lasts from 2 to even 4 years cos college doesn’t prepare u to be a qualified therapist. Many of psychologists work in HR business so here mostly therapeutic or academic career is the best option. 3. Government/Political science - oh really there are so many jobs after it? From my european experience I know that people after political science work in very different branches and in many cases they had to take some additional short courses to do sth else.
The most useful degrees are not the ones that train you for a job, but ones that teach you how to CREATE your own job. 2,3,4, and 5 are the ones on this list that fall into that category.
I agree with #1 on the list, but #2-6 are kind of like getting a degree in History or Philosophy. I mean, most of them aren't bad, but it would save more time and money to just get experience in those fields (except for Communications, that's just a useless degree). Take #6 for example: you're better off just studying it at the library and writing Literature and publishing your work, NOT wasting time and money on a degree in that field. Idk Alux I think you're giving people bad advice with some of these majors.
Agreed. After having been a technology consultant for a number of major corporations, the hiring executives really seek out STEM degrees the most. Degrees not in those areas usually have to do a lot more to compete for fewer jobs.
M C I proved a point. My point is that half of these majors are useless and you can learn them at the library or gain real world experience instead of wasting time and money in college.
Actually if you have a degree in Mass communication. People that are on the news or able to market it with a company or even people in the sports journalism or Sports channels all have if not most have a degree under mass communications.

Might cut down on errors but accountants won’t be going anywhere soon. There does however seem to be more accountants graduating now than there are jobs in desirable locations so that’s something. Remember that the CPA is the hardest professional exam so CPAs will always be demand since not every accountant will become one. It’s a barrier of entry but unfortunately that’s the only way you could be promoted in today’s economy.
I would choose to pursue an educational doctorate in Nursing and teach in Europe. I am a retired Registered Nurse with 28 years in the field.
#4 - Bullshit!! That degree gets no respect because it is too general. You need to specialize in Finance, Marketing, etc to get anywhere with that.
#1 also. Tech changes so fast that what you know is dated by the time you graduate.
Marketing??? That’s a joke. Finance is too general. The only business degree worth getting is an accounting degree.
Computer Science, due to the simple facts that I love thecnonolgy
Many of these majors don't guarantee a job AT ALL!!!
Roddy Rod terrible list. What are they smoking?
@@Eman1900O They are smoking human shit

At the end of the day, whatever degree you may hold, being street smart is an essential part of surviving in this world.
Amazing show as usual alux, I would however like to request for a video on new emerging technology fields that don't even have proper degree courses yet... Such as DevOps
Until these careers get over saturated, like Nursing, though, as a nurse myself, I have been seeing MANY nurses leave the filed after 3-5 years after getting their nursing license, as they get disillusioned and burned out.
Then why they put psychology and communication in useless degrees list.
Ananya Mars I was thinking the same thing...
Lol I thought I’m the only one who notice
Computer science the world is changing every second and be able to event a new invention with that degree
Yes I am a computer science student .
@Ostentatious ASMR Everything is GIVEN if you put in the necessary work...
@Ostentatious ASMR Then why would you even ask?
@Ostentatious ASMR I find it easy because I actually enjoy the class. If you ask me about stupid general education classes (english, philosophy) I can't say the same. The point is, everything is "easy" if you are interested and dedicate your time to it. I hate dedicating my time to something irrelevant to my interests and majors so I would call that "hard" (even though there really is no such thing. I just don't enjoy it so I find it "hard" to give it the time and work necessary to excel in that particular class).
@Ostentatious ASMR What you asking doesn't quite make any sense if you already comprehend what it is that i am saying as you said you do...
You could probably drop out and still get a job. The area is so highly in demand.
I would pursue computer sci coz i would love to make a game and also many things on art area and performing
I knew it computer science will be at top. ✋🤚😎
Me too
@Shaft Canyoudigit the percentage of CS that are unemployed are lower than other majors
Yup me too!
jfish147
Im studying CS to. Technically IT, i needed my major to be specific. CS wasnt exact and it was very broad. After i get my bachelors, I’ll be going in for the practical
@Shane hill lol liberal arts?
Thank God I did Economics and Now Political Science
In Denmark we get paid for studying... No student loans :)
Do y’all study in English ?
Lets go! I'm a Business student!
1. Computer Science
2. Communication
3. Government/Political science
4. Business
5. Economics
6. English Language & Literature
7. Psychology
8. Nursing
9. Chemical Engineering
10. Biology
Did you agree....?
Economics and business degree cause that's what I am passionate about
I would honestly say that the only degree on here that pretty much guarantees you to land an actual job right out of school would be nursing. Everything else is meh.... Nursing probably pays the most too. However, due to it's high demand and relatively low barrier to entry, you will see lots of people that shouldn't be in healthcare but are only there for the money. Keep that in mind.
I saw in another Alux video that communications and psychology are among the most useless degrees. How did they end up on this list?
2) communications
3) government/political science
5) economics
6) english language & literature
7) psychology
are useless as well. Remove them.
Please add civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Accounting, actuary, Information Systems and data science.
Economics is not usless dipsh*t, most econ majors go on to become financial analyst or accountants, im an econ major and i make 70k a years by working as an analyst
Where's the engreening ?
The M.D.?
Mathematics?
Psychiatrist are MD’s. Also, one cannot be a Psychiatrist with having a bachelors in psychology
I would finish my degree in Computer Forensics.
It's not on your list, but given quantum computing & AI not just on the horizon any more, I think I'd go for a physics degree. Not to mention physics (along w/ the mathematical understanding required) allows you to understand the mechanics of the Universe! Literally!
I'd rather have a degree that can help me start-up my own business. Working for someone else is self-limiting in a way...
Ivan We have a degree in our university which is known as Entrepreneurship.
If I’m not a billionaire in the future I’m suing this channel for false advertisement!
Right? What I said!!!!
Get your facts right. What about medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering...
Music, agriculture, botany, history, government, science these are some of my favorite subjects
Psychology because I am teaching exceptional students right now here in Florida, USA 🇺🇸!!!:-)
This page is contradictory,it says psychology is a useless degree but it also says its guarenteed a job??🤔🤔
Have a BSc. degree in Communication Engineering and Master in Computer Engineering.
Number one and Two.
No Job.😪
The college should refund your money.
I'd choose Biology (genetic engineering), It's too potent to ignore.
Bro, I don't agree with this list at all. Only computer science make sense. All the medical once are way too expensive and the pay doesn't worth it. Communication degree I guess is ok but I don't know much about it.
Sadly nothing can guarantee getting a job 100%
Always thought that Political Science was going to be useless..
An accountancy major once told me my English degree is useless. Who's laughing now when I'm a freelancer teaching on my own terms while he's stuck in a 9-5 job?
Baby boomers: Damn millennials always on their phones and computers, they'll go nowhere in life.
Sees jobs to do with computers are one of the highest paying jobs in the world
Baby boomers: *Confused screaming*
This is very subjective. Science degrees like biology are not in much use in countries that don’t have the infrastructures or budget for research
*Great info. Thanks for showing us where to get the MOST BANG for our BUCK.*
hi
Communication degrees both my older sister and younger brother have one of these neither use their majors and I don’t see either joining me in retirement anytime soon. I quit college thirty years ago and have been retired for the last fifteen years.
Thanks a lot ALUX I’m planning going back to college in the fall I was majoring in Biology but interested in a lot of other things. Planning on joining the Air Force so they can pay for college.
Good luck see you in the military once I finish school
D A lol when are you planning on joining
Top 10 Degrees
10: Biology
09: Chemical Engineering
08: Nursing
07: Psychology
06: English Language & Literature
05: Economics
04: Business
03: Government/Political Science
02: Communication
01: Computer Science
Yeah I'll choose chemical engineering. Love this,:D
1. Business
2. Economics
Any idea about bsns. I wann start next year.
I wouldn’t choose a degree based on my budget. I do what I do based on how much I like it, I’m good at it and how many chances I have at getting a job I’m passionate about and can live off. Being a millionaire wouldn’t have make me reconsider my choice that’s such a weird question to ask
Now I feel better about the fact that I'm studying communication!
I find it strange that this list does not include accountants. I don’t know a CPA without a job; and this is true in many countries!
Also here u can find a couple of PARADOXES:
You haven't proved any point though. Come back when you can.
@@amyyaku5022 because everyone is so inclined to go to the library for hours right? The internet teaches you everything, yes, but that doesn't mean people are just going to start learning about political science, communications, or nursing all on their own.
What about Electrical and Electronics Engineering or mechanical and mechatronics engineering.... or Civil and Environmental Engineering???
I'm a Political Science major 😂
Funny everyone I know with Master in Social work and a Master in counseling psychology are earning over 100 dollars per 45 minute session.
engineering and computer science are the best
Yes
Where I'm from only nursing is guaranteed, the rest struggle like hell
Economics should be top 3
economics degree is the most usefull degree nowdays
