You’re actually meant to wear clothes like that in the desert, it traps the sweat and can keep you cool from the heat. You just need to make sure it isn’t dark clothing and isn’t really thick.
So depending on how thick Lumine’s dress is she would’ve been fine.
Don't take off thin layers in the desert. The sun will cook you faster. Loose thin clothing will reflect some sunlight off and allow you to sweat to cool down.
