【줄거리 Synopsis】
문명이 휩쓸고 간 뒤 황폐해진 어느 행성.
로봇 하나가 행성에 홀로 남아 쓰레기와 폐기물로 자신의 배터리를 채우며 살아가고 있다.
어느 날 우연히 이 행성에 불시착한 소녀를 만난 로봇은 사랑을 느끼고, 배고픈 소녀에게 쓰레기와 폐기물을 권해보지만 소녀는 먹을 수 없다.
로봇은 우주통신을 활용해서 이 소녀에게는 깨끗한 물과 음식이 필요하고, 몇 시간 뒤 행성 궤도 근처를 지나 지구로 향할 예정인 Inertia 호에 탑승해야만 소녀를 살릴 수 있음을 알게 된다.
Inertia 호와 접속하기 위해서 높은 곳으로 향하는 로봇과 소녀. 소녀는 새로운 행성의 풍경이 마냥 신기하고 즐겁기만 하다.
접속 위치에 도착한 로봇과 소녀.
하지만 Inertia 호에 긴급 구조 신호를 보내기 위해서는 로봇의 프리즘 배터리를 모두 소진 시켜야만 가능하고, 소진된 프리즘 배터리는 전소되어 다시는 쓸 수 없다는 정보를 받게 된다.
하지만 로봇은 소녀를 살리기 위해서 프리즘 배터리로 Inertia 호에 긴급 구조 신호를 보내며 자신을 희생한다.
소녀는 슬픔에 잠기고, 긴급 구조 신호를 받은 Inertia 호의 조종사들은 어느새 소녀의 앞에 나타난다.

80년대 감성의 신스웨이브 넘버 [Prism]
2021년 첫 신곡 [Prism]은 그간 뉴튼이 지향해 온 뉴트로-댄스팝 넘버의 연장선에 있지만 정통 신스웨이브 사운드를 추구했다는 점에서 또 다른 도약을 보여준다. [Prism]은 신스웨이브 특유의 감성과 트렌디한 멜로디의 탁월한 밸런스가 돋보이며, 사랑하는 누군가를 만나 다채로운 자신으로 변화해가는 모습을 프리즘 효과에 빗대어 은유적으로 표현했다.
이번 [Prism] 역시 뉴튼이 국내외 팬들과 적극적으로 소통하기 위해 고수해 온 한영 버전 동시 발매 전략을 이어간다. 한국어 버전은 보컬, 성우, 프로듀서 등 다방면에서 두각을 드러내고 있고 [Prism] 뮤직비디오 감독이기도 한 K JUN(케이준)이 참여해 한국어 신스웨이브 넘버의 진수를 보여주었다. 영어 버전은 현대자동차 X 방탄소년단(BTS)의 지구의 날 특별 캠페인 [For tomorrow, we won't wait]편 광고 음악 보컬로 참여한 독일의 싱어송라이터 J.O.Y가 특유의 음색과 감각으로 완성했다.
[Prism] 뮤직비디오는 지난 12월에 공개한 '관성의 법칙' 뮤직비디오의 후속작으로 뉴튼이 추구하는 SF적인 상상력에 레트로 감성을 더한 시리즈물로 제작됐다. 황량한 행성에서 살아남기 위해 우주 쓰레기들을 모아 배터리를 충전하며 무의미한 날들을 보내던 로봇이 한 소녀를 발견하게 되면서 펼쳐지는 한 편의 감동 드라마다.
뉴튼은 [Prism] 발매를 필두로 2021년에도 지속적인 신곡 발매를 통해 대중적인 80년대 레트로 웨이브 장르의 정수를 선보일 계획이다.

Synthwave [Prism] with 80s sensibility
The first new song [Prism] in 2021 is an extension of Newton's newtro-dance pop number. However, it shows another leap forward in the pursuit of authentic synthwave sound. [Prism] stands out for the excellent balance of synthwave's unique sensibility and trendy melody, and metaphorically expresses the transformation into a colorful self by meeting someone you love.
This [Prism] also released Korean-English versions at the same time to actively communicate with fans at home and abroad. The Korean version was sung by K JUN, who was a vocalist, voice actor, producer, and director of the music video for [Prism], showing the essence of Korean synthwave music. In addition, the English version was participated by J.O.Y., a German singer-songwriter who participated as an advertising music vocalist for the Earth Day special campaign [For Tomorrow, we won't wait] in which Hyundai X BTS collaborated. And you will be amazed by the unique tone and sense of J.O.Y. who played this song and fantastic harmony.
The [Prism] music video was produced in a series that added retro sensibility to Newton's SF imagination, just like the 'Law of Inertia' music video released last December. A robot that spent meaningless days collecting space junk and charging batteries to survive on a desolate planet. It's a touching drama about a robot who happens to find a girl and finds meaning in life.
Newton plans to introduce the essence of the retro wave genre in the 80s through the continuous release of new songs in 2021.
