  • Oct 2000 • Last remaining Spix’s macaw in the wild disappears.
    Project Milestones:
    2005 • ACTP gets its first Spix’s macaws and joins the Spix’s recovery project.
    July 2016 • MOU signed between all parties and the Minister of Environment.
    July 2016 • Brazil announced plans underway to make a 100,000 Ha protected area in the historic habitat of the Spix’s macaw.
    2018 • ACTP agrees to take over management of all Al Wabra’s Spix’s macaws, with the intention to release into the wild as soon as possible.
    2018 • MOU signed to align the parties and Brazil government with the Spix’s action plan.
    2019 • TCA signed between ACTP and the Brazilian government to secure the Spix’s Macaw Release Project.
    Nov 2019 • ACTP sends team to Brazil to manage the building process of the breeding and release center in Curaçá.
    March 2020 • 52 Spix’s macaws arrive from ACTP Germany to the Insitu ACTP facility in Curaçá.
    2020 • BlueSky-Caatinga started its plans to rejuvenate and restore the Caatinga habitat within the Spix’s historic range.
    June 2022 • First 8 Spix’s macaws released into the wild.
    Dec 2022 • Next 12 Spix’s macaws released into the wild. To make up the 20 birds released per year plan.
    August 2023 • First successful breeding of Spix’s in the wild. Chicks reached fledgling age but did not survive fledging.
    May 2024 • Second successful wild breeding of Spix’s macaws, two chicks have fledged successfully.

    what about dozens of spix´s macaws Actp sold to India?Anything new about them?Are they gonna be returned to Brasil?

    Dadas as suas capacidades, que Deus lhe conceda sucesso e seus grandes esforços, por que você não planeja Para criar um documentário que mostre a vida desse papagaio, que sem você já estaria extinto anos atrás, você pode criar um documentário que explique muitos pontos e o sofrimento dessa ave e o seu sofrimento, principalmente em um país como o Brasil Com a adição das tradições deste país, será algo único porque não encontrei nada parecido.
