His Chinese lyrics are superb. His English not so much. But remember he is not a native English speaker. So understandably his English lyrics fall behind. I happen to be pretty much trilingual. So I can write lyrics in Chinese, German and English pretty well. But even I can feel certain limitations and differences in the range of expression from time to time.

But "I wish the world can be peace" is just unintentional grammar error anyway you put it - mostly nobody talks that way :). Slang has rules and acceptable forms too and you can use it for lyrics - just make sure you use it right or people will laugh.
this guy's versatility with styles is fascinating, but by god PLEASE get this man a lyricist. both his chinese and english compositions are sorely hurt by his limited lyrical capabilities. the result is always a song that sounds nice on the surface, but is thematically incoherent once you pay any ounce of attention to what he's singing.

@@lialove9246 Agree to disagree, I guess - I personally didn't find his Chinese songs lyrically strong either. Maybe some of it comes from the time pressure of having to prepare something weekly, maybe it's just not his strength. It's definitely challenging to write in a second language, though, and I respect him a lot for trying. Hopefully he has learned from his experience on 好声音 and will continue to grow as a songwriter.
