@@PeterLindgren1 fun to watch too! I wonder if these passion projects will start taking off as well if you just keep making them. For me they literally have an inverted success rate. The more passion and time I put in, the harder they tank 😂

Hahaha it’s usually the same for me lol. Hire someone to help me make stuff = instant tank lol.
But i wanna broaden the stuff i talk about on the channel so it feels like a natural progression either way.
I’ll try for as long as my economy allows it lol!

Dude my significantly less suped up 2016 RAV4 is the best car ever. It’s insanely practical and I can’t imagine having anything else that’s not as versatile.
Plus it’s been paid off for a couple of years now and that’s sooooooo nice!

We have a 2022 RAV4 prime model SE. Purchased new in March 20 22 we now have 35,000 miles. Our electric range is 40+ miles for charge and then operating in hybrid mode with a depleted battery. I have been averaging 45+ miles per gallon. To me a plug-in hybrid, such as the RAV4 prime is the best of both worlds

Toyota makes a great product, I've had a Pathfinder & FJ Cruiser - both very affordable, but also very plastic. I just bought a Bronco Badlands and yes, it's a lot more than I need, but it's everything I wanted -- no mods required. The Rav was on my list and would have likely been my choice for an everyday ride but that's not what I was looking for. Just like camera gear, we always battle for the need vs. want decision.

My wife has a Rav 4 its nice, I prefer my Toyota 4 Runner. It's larger, smoother on rough roads, and has more room for my gear.
Toyota is a great company, i have never had any issues with them. Greg

Peter, I never thought I'd say this, but you've officially made me consider trading in my drone for a Toyota RAV4 PRIME! 😂 Who knew a camera/drone guru could be an automotive reviewer too? Your videos have me hooked whether it’s about the best lens or the best car. Thanks for keeping it real and making my decision-making even harder! 🚗📷❤

I have the Optimus since July 2023 and for me the vehicle is a beast! Super fast, very comfortable driving, features are also good for me. The things that I miss on this vehicle is the Cruise Control, flip mirrors and definitely the battery charge is too small. 42 miles per charge. Combined will be around 90+ miles but I definitely like to see the 100 mile battery on this vehicle and Toyota already send to the owners a survey about this specific aspect.

Good review. About the noise (at high speeds) its not so much about the tires than it is due to lack or we can say almost no car insulation. You can apply car insulations for relative low budget yours. Doable in about 10hours of own labor work - just search on how to on YT. Helps a lot. Or you can give this someone to do it for you, but the noise comes down a lot and it becomes OK on highways as well

I appreciate the off-road upgrades you've done to your vehicle. I personally enjoy the look and function of trucks/suv set up to be used on dirt. My 2003 f150 has about 4" lift with 35" mud tires. They howl on the road and I love it.
Enjoyed the video, find dirt roads often. You don't want to have a street queen for a vehicle. Lol

@PeterLindgren, Falken Wildpeak AT3W or B.F. Goodrich KO2A/T Tires are very quiet on the road and 3-Snowpeak rated, so they're excellent in the snow. I've been using BFGs for 40 years, and Wildpeaks for the last 2.5 years. BFGs on our Nissan Titan and Wildpeak's on my other truck. And I live in the mountains where were 85% of the time on dirt roads and in the snow 7-9 months of the year.

Great video, Peter! I have the XLE version of the RAV4 and it’s probably the best bang for buck SUV you can get in 2024. Question, did you get this upgraded version as a business expense for your RUclips channel?

After two years of owning my Rav4 Prime, here are my quick dislikes of my Prime:
-Toyota’s i-AWD system sucks for handling or inclement weather conditions. Savageese was right about that years ago in his video review of the Prime. It’s no surprise the Prime failed the moose test years ago and Toyota’s “fix” for that issue wasn’t that much better than before. Subaru’s mechanical AWD system runs circles around Toyota’s electronic AWD system in the Prime.
-Numb steering. I know the Rav4 platform is supposed to be the common driving experience because of its mass production worldwide, but for the Prime it should’ve been different and had a more responsive steering to it.
-finicky turn signals. It’s almost like the turn signal indicators, much like the steering, are too light and sometimes too hyper responsive.
Overall, I’m still satisfied with my Prime after two years of ownership. 👍

It's funny how we have the same car and comea to two different conclusions about the interior. I think it feels great and solid with nice materials compares to cheaper cars where the plastic feela flimsy. But then again, I'm not an absolute unit of a swede yoinking on all the elements 😂😅
I also wish mine had a larger tank of gas. 40L seems on the low side. Should have been 55 or 60 imo.
I'm happy that I can get to work and back, with air-condition running, in all electric mode though!
Great family car. Just wish it sounded like a V8 when in gas mode. 😂

    • @PeterLindgren1

Haha i think the feels incredibly cheap… The trunk is also a great example where it gets scratched instantly :o.
Yeah, the gas tank is waaay too small on this, but love being able to have electric as you said!
Next up needs to be a V8. I need it lol..

Beautiful setup. 0.8L/10K = 29.4 miles / gallon, which would be considered a really good economy car here in the US, but a 310 mile range is far below what’s needed for some of the deserts, remote roads, and wilderness areas.

Not sure what you are expecting for that price made in one of the best automotive factories in the world. Doubtful that any plant in Europe compares to those in Japan and I know that North American plants don't. In any case, if you want better, buy a Lexus NX, GX or Toyota Prado which you can probably get with a diesel in Europe. PS Like the Nokian Outpost A/Ts.

45 to 50 litres, did some research on google, seems to be a common issue that low fuel warning is on way to soon and fuel quantity gage is not accurate on many Rav 4...
